Parents or guardians and contestants must read and sign the following consent: We, the parents or guardians, and I the 4H member have read the rules and complete entry form and hereby consent to our child’s participation in the 4H Rodeo at Crooks, South Dakota on the 20th of June, 2015. We do hereby release the 4H Rodeo committee and/or its agents and the stock contractor or his agent from any and all liability for damages whatsoever that may occur to our child and our child’s horse or mount while competing in said show or while enroute to and from the rodeo arena. NO LATE ENTRIES! Entries must be postmarked by May 30, 2015 . Entry blanks will be returned if incomplete or missing the required fees. You will be notified if not accepted in an event. There will be NO ENTRIES ALLOWED AT REGISTRATION. No entries will be refunded. Do NOT send cash . 2. Entries will be limited to the first 160 contestants! Parking is limited. Please do not park in front of the elevator. 3. There will not be exhibition runs allowed. 4. Scholarship applications for graduating high school seniors, along with their completed rodeo entry forms, must be postmarked by May 30, 2015 . 5. Start time is 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Crooks Rodeo Grounds in Crooks, South Dakota . Contestants must check in prior to the contestant meeting. The contestant’s meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. 6. State 4H Rodeo Rules will be used. We encourage you to obtain and use the State 4H Rodeo Rules and Regulations (SH 91,2006 edition) at your local County Extension Office. Some new rules have been added and it is the contestant’s responsibility to learn the new rules. 7. If you enter team roping, please list the name of the header and heeler. There will be no choosing partners or changing partners after entry blanks are sent in. 8. A $5.00 surcharge per contestant will be assessed. This is a required fee. 9. Contestants will be disqualified if the contestant or their parents harass the judge. All grievances must be directed to the arena director. 10. Contestants will be called for twice before they will be passed by. Be ready, unless obligated in the other arena. Small arena takes precedence. 11. No liquor will be permitted on the grounds. 12. Reminder: 4H rules require vests and mouthpieces be worn for rough stock events. 13. Contestants must wear their number at all times. This includes when picking up prizes . 14. The hat rule will be enforced. 15. There will be no ties. Ties will be decided by a flip of the coin. 16. Contestants in the stock events must provide their own hazer or calf pusher. The Rodeo Committee will provide string, ribbons and rubber bands. 17. Parent signature is REQUIRED regardless of contestant’s age. 18. Event order and start times are subject to change . 19. State Finals Rodeo Entry st State Finals paper work entry deadline is MAY 1 . Contestants are responsible to read and follow the General Information on Finals Entry Forms and the Ground Rules pertaining to the 4H Finals Rodeo. All contestants qualifying for the 4H Finals Rodeo (by finishing in the top 4 places at a Regional/County 4H Rodeo) are automatically entered. If a contestant does not wish to enter the finals or has event/events that they wish to not enter, then they will have to notify the Finals secretary by emailing [email protected] by AUGUST 1st . If the contestant does not notify the secretary prior to the finals draw, the contestant is responsible for the entry fees.
