Global Hospital Acquired Infection Control Market : Segments, Dynamics, Size and Forecast to 2020
Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), also known as nosocomial infections, refer to infections that are acquired by patients during their stay in hospitals. Globally, the HAIs control market is witnessing significant growth due to high prevalence of various hospital infections and increasing aging population. In addition, rising number of initiatives undertaken by government and nongovernment organizations and hot and humid environmental conditions are driving the HAIs control market. However, factors such as lack of primary healthcare facilities and infrastructure and limited awareness about HAIs in developing regions are restraining the global market for HAIs control. Increasing popularity of gas plasma sterilization technology is one of the major trends that have been observed in the HAIs control market. The global HAIs control market is estimated at USD 50,807.0 million in 2014. It is likely to grow with a CAGR of 8.5% and reach USD 82,889.4 million in 2020.
