‫אנו מתכבדים להזמינכם לקחת חלק בכינוס האגודה הישראלית לראולוגיה‪ .‬מטרת הכינוס לאפשר מפגש בלתי אמצעי של‬
‫חוקרים‪ ,‬סטודנטים‪ ,‬מהנדסים וטכנולוגים מהתעשייה‪ ,‬מכוני המחקר והאקדמיה‪ .‬היסודות המדעיים של ראולוגיה‬
‫מודרנית הונחו בשנות העשרים של המאה הקודמת‪ .‬הולדתו של תחום זה נזקפת במידה רבה לפועלו המדעי של פרופ'‬
‫מרקוס ריינר מהטכניון‪ .‬במשך שנים רבות פעלה האגודה הישראלית לראולוגיה לטיפוח החידושים בתחום והנחלתם בקרב‬
‫העוסקים והמתעניינים בו‪ .‬בשנים האחרונות הננו עדים להתרחבות מרשימה של מספר הנדרשים לראולוגיה הן בתעשייה‬
‫והן באקדמיה‪ .‬העניין הגובר בראולוגיה והצורך של רבים מהעוסקים בה לחבור לעמיתיהם בקהילה הראולוגית עמם יוכלו‬
‫לחלוק את ממצאיהם ולדון בבעיות בהן הם נתקלים‪ ,‬עומדים מאחורי הסיבות לקיום הכינוס‪.‬‬
‫התכנית כוללת הרצאות בתחומי הראולוגיה של פולימרים‪ ,‬נוזלים מרוכבים‪ ,‬תרחיפים ותחליבים‪ ,‬ביוראולוגיה‬
‫ומיקרוראולוגיה בכינוס ישתתפו שני מרצים אורחים‪:‬‬

Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2014 meeting of the Israel Society of Rheology. The goal of the
meeting is to provide the settings for the uninhibited interaction between researchers, students, engineers and
technologists from industry, research institutes and academia. The scientific basis of modern rheology has
been laid down almost a century ago. The birth of this field is credited to a large extent, to the work of Prof.
Marcus Reiner from the Technion who together with Eugene Bingham coined the term rheology and founded
the first society for its study. For many years the Israel Society of rheology served to explore and disseminate
the advances in this branch of science amongst rheology practitioners. In the last couple of years we are
witnessing an impressive expansion in the interest in rheology both in industry and in academia. This
meeting is meant to cater for the need of these rheology practitioners to share their results and discuss
relevant issues with their peers.
The program includes presentations related to the rheology of polymers, complex fluids, foodstuff,
emulsions, suspensions, biorheology and microrheology. The two keynote speakers in the meeting are:
Prof. Jan Vermant (ETH, Zurich) – Interfacial rheology and its role in materials design.
Prof. Manfred Wilhelm (KIT, Karlsruhe) – Non-linear rheology and combined methods in rheology
and processing.
Panel discussion “Troubleshooting in rheological measurements”
Senior representatives of rheological equipment manufacturers will discuss common application issues in a
question & answer panel. Participants interested in raisng specific issues related to measurement problems
are invited to send ahead of time their questions to the secretariat at [email protected].
