Memorial Lea Molinari and Open Slovenian Championship will be organised by the Športno društvo Piran
and Sport Club GoSailing in cooperation with Fireball Slovenija, Yachting Club Portorož, Sailing Club
Pocodebon and Slovenian Sailing Federation.

RULES
The regatta will be governed by The Rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
The Equipment Rules of Sailing will apply.

ADVERTISING
The event is classified Category 'C'. Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and
supplied by the organizing authority.

ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
The Championship is open to all boats of the Optimist, 29er and Europe Class that meet with the
obligations of the Class Rules and their National Authority, in the case that a National Authority
exists.
Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form and sending it to ŠD Piran by 10 October
2014. Entry Fee should be paid at registration.
Late entries will be accepted subject to a 20% Entry Fee surcharge.

* GoSailing Cup is unique race for all dinghies at the same starting line that will be raced on Saturday 18 October. The
Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme (Handicap System) will be applied. More information, NoR and SI will be issued separately.
The Entry Fee includes boat and trailer storage and tickets to the principal social events.
Entries will not be valid until payment is received.

The scheduled time of the first warning signal is 11:00 hours on Saturday, 18 October.
On last day of sailing, no warning signal will be given after 15:00 hours.

MEASUREMENTS
The Organisers may measure or inspect any boat and or her equipment and sails before, during or
after the races.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The Sailing Instructions will be available at registration.

VENUE
Attachment 'A' shows the location of Racing Areas.
Regatta Harbour for Europe, Optimist and 29er will be in Bernardin, at ŠD Piran.

THE COURSES
The course to be sailed will be trapezoid configuration.

PENALTY SYSTEM
Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is
required.
Decisions of the Jury will be final as provided in Rule 70.5.

SCORING
The Low Point System of Appendix 'A' will apply.
3 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
(a) When fewer than four races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her
race scores.
(b) When four or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her
race scores excluding her worst score.

SUPPORT BOATS
Support boats shall be identified as decided by the Organisers.

LAUNCHING AND BERTHING
Boats shall be kept in their assigned places.

RADIO COMMUNICATION
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not
available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

PRIZES
The prizes will be given as follows:
Top 3 overall in each Class, Top 3 in Europe Slovenian Championship, Top 3 Cadets in Optimist
Class. Special prices might be awarded.
17.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4 Decision to Race. The
organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death
sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.
18.
INSURANCE
The boat is required to hold adequate third-party insurance, and it is the owner or owner’s
representative’s sole and inescapable responsibility to ensure that the insurance is in place and is
adequate.
19.
TELEVISION & PHOTOGRAPHERS' RIGHTS
Competitors give absolute right and permission for video footage or photographs of themselves or
their boat to be published in any media for press, editorial or advertising purposes.
