But the club also embodied American racism, with a “whites-only” admittance policy that sent its performers to the kitchen for supper. Join us as we document this chapter in the history of American entertainment, hosted by Bill Rudman and Paul Ferguson. The acclaimed Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra performs in the magnificent Severance Hall five times during the year, thanks to the generous donations of various benefactors. Not a member? Call 216.595.3733 to join. WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS Tuesday, November 10 In August 2002, seventy five women wearing red hats and purple outfits tossed balloons in the air outside the community center to commemorate the creation of the Red Hattitudes. During the past 13 years we have been a very warm, friendly group of women who have enjoyed each other’s company at many events and formed lasting friendships along the way. Now, as happens over time, and with the retirement of our reigning queen mum, we find ourselves with the need to restructure our chapter. In order to do that, we call upon YOU, our sisters, for your most needed input and support so that the Red Hattitudes can continue and succeed. Please join our meeting.
