AERODYNAMICS OF MISSILES AND ROCKETS Mark Pinney Proven techniques for deriving the basic aerodynamic properties of axisymmetric
shaped bodies with the minimum amount of time and effort Aerodynamics of Missiles and Rockets describes the basic aerodynamics model used in the widespread Analytical Initial Missile Synthesis (AIMS) computer code for symmetric missile and rocket sizing and design. It is a collection of empirical, semiempirical and theoretical aerodynamics engineering methods for a component buildup approach to aerodynamics prediction. This book serves as an onthe
job application manual and desk reference for the prediction of basic aerodynamics. It can also be used for courses in applied aerodynamics in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering programs and for short courses in industry and government. This practical guide provides an alternative approach to utilizing numerous, complex, standalone computer codes, but is also a good complement to these codes. DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF SKELETAL STRUCTURES Seetharamulu Kaveti This detailed guide discusses structural analysis based on force, displacement, and iterative methods, and explains how to use mechanical dynamics to analyze structural loads and forces. Dynamic Analysis of Skeletal Structures discusses the three sequential processes essential for creative thinking as a civil engineer—structural behaviors, visualization, and conceptualization. The book focuses on the study of making judicious choice of methods, approaches, and idealizations and discusses aspects of stability and kinematic considerations for determining indeterminacy of stable structures. Looking at important typical structures, simple plane trusses to space frame, and the analysis methods considered under force, displacement, and iterative techniques, the book develops concepts to solve challenging problems encountered in professional practice. l
