The Harvest of Life is Plentiful
Our editor -in-chief asked for our vision on the Harvest
for this fall edition of Beebe Smart Living. I went to the
book of Matthew (my favorite) chapter 9:37. It states
“the harvest is plentiful.” I am asking, are you getting
your share of the Harvest? The Master freely gives to
those who freely sow; it’s called the law of reciprocity.
Now, when thinking of giving, the first thing that may
come into your mind is money. Money is one way of
giving and there are many others ways to give. To put
us on the right track, Galatians 5:22-23 the Fruits of the
Spirit; love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. Give these and give them

It’s A Miracle
It was early December, 2009; my wife Sue, developed a continuous and somewhat painful cough. She was diagnosed with a lemon sized cancerous tumor in
the lower portion of her right lung. This would be her second bout with cancer
within ten years. Our next step was to find a surgeon who was a specialist in
removing sections of the lung. Unknown to us, Jesus was already at work on our
behalf. Dr. Van Cleve had left his employment due to political reasons and came
to our area. He was the specialist we needed. He was employed in the hospital
we used and given a temporary office in the recovery room. We still had not met
him at this point. He met with the Thursday doctors meeting to review cases
(which was unusual). Sue’s case just happened to be one that was reviewed. He
was the only doctor present who could perform the operation. He contacted us and explained the procedure
in detail. We elected to go with him. He gave me his cell phone number with permission to call any time I had
questions. Is that unusual for a doctor? Additionally, I had hourly updates during the surgery, unlimited entry
to the recovery room and full access to my wife during her recovery. All this didn’t happen by coincidence. It
occurred because Jesus Christ was taking care of his children. Miracles do happen today and this is only one in
our lives. Thank you Jesus.

Valder Beebe My Blog....I Can Hear God So Clear In My Heart
Have you ever gone to the fridge to satisfy a hunger and no matter what you ate, you knew it was not satisfying the
craving? But when you ate what your body was craving you become so…so, satisfied? Well that is my latest adventure
with God. About two weeks ago I had a driving need to study the Old and New Testament. Keep in mind I have
taken classes on these books of the bible before, and I have taught these classes (Disciple Classes) at my Christian
church. I began to pursue my thirst for the Bible. I signed up for the perfect class, the Old Testament and the New
Testament but signals got crossed and the class did not manifest and my church was so apologetic and kind. I was
extended the opportunity to go to another class, all about women and the bible. I sat through the class and the next
week politely declined to be a participant. I began calling local Jewish Synagogues for a class on the Torah (which
is the first 5 books of the Old Testament). My first call was well received by Baruch HaShem Messianic Synagogue
in Dallas. They offered the perfect class “The History of Jews” (the Old Testament) and on the perfect day for me.
Once I got to the first class it was incredible……but you will have to come back to my Faith blog in November
to see what happened next. My blog will launch on-line late 2012 for my 58th Birthday. Shabbat Shalom

Reaping the Harvest, Sounds good, but is it?
We often hear the term Harvest in the form of a law that applies
to people. Although harvest is a process to grow crop to sustain
our bodies, it has been applied to human beings as a process to
reap the benefits of what you put into yourself or your life. It is
also possible to place seeds (ideas) in others that have the possibility of grow within them from the time of inception until they
reach old age.
Galatians 6:7-8 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows
to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one
who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life.
As children, there are many people that influence our lives, teachers, preachers, siblings, family members, friends and parents. Children grow into teenagers, youth, young adults, adults and finally, senior
citizens. Things they have heard, seen, touched and tasted remain with them, for some, throughout
life. It is important to understand the effect of positive and negative seed sowing in our own lives as
well as the lives of others. When we focus completely on the material things of this world that is what
we bring into our life. It creates a thought pattern that nothing else matters except what is going on in
your life at the moment. We have to come to realize that a moment in time where a person carelessly
makes a decision without considering the affects of that decision on his/her life or the live of those
close to them, can bring forth catastrophic consequences. Let’s take for example the life of David 2
Sam.11 He coveted his neighbor’s wife—committed adultery—committed murder—stole— and, gave
false witness.
Results: His beloved wife dies, his son murdered- daughter raped, the list goes on. Take the time to
read the story of David. The boy who grew up in the wilderness, killed the Giant and dismissed by his
father. The man coveted by Saul, hated by Saul, beloved by God.
Here is what the Book of Romans has to say.
Romans 5:12-18 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin,
and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—13 for until the Law sin was in the world; but sin
is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over
those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to
come. 15 But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many
died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound
to the many. 16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one
hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand
the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification. 17 For if by the transgression of
the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and
of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. 18 So then as through one
transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there
resulted justification of life to all men

The Battle of Every Believer
I began to study and see what the scriptures said about our minds.
When we come to Christ, we think that we’re going to be instantly
transformed to this new creation in Christ. We believe that many of
our habits and problems are going to just disappear. Well God does
work miracles, but for many of us, once the excitement of accepting
Christ wears off, we often find ourselves challenged by our same old
habits, problems, and mindsets.
When we come to Christ, we are endowed with His Spirit, but our old
degenerate mind continues to need a constant overall. Read what
the Bibles says about our minds:
Romans 1:28- “Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to
retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind,
to do what ought not to be done.”
Ephesians 4:23 – “to be made new in the attitude of your minds.”
2 Corinthians 11:3 – “But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds
may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
Romans 12:2 - “Do not conform any longer to the pattern (conditioning) of this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good,
pleasing and perfect will.”
Paul said it best in Romans 7:21 when he stated that he knows what to do, but has trouble doing it.
“When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22-For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and
making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.
From these scriptures, along with countless more, we see that the ”Christian” mind really isn’t so Christian at all. Unless our minds are renewed and subdued by God’s Spirit, it’s most likely that our minds our
controlling our behavior instead of the other way around.
Unfortunately, it’s the mind that is making most Christians mentally ill. Our mind causes us to worry, to
fear, to doubt, and more. As Christians, or anyone for that matter, our mind is the greatest battle that we
will ever face.
Our greatest inspirations and truths come during times of quietness, stillness, openness, and reflectionall components of meditation. It was practicing meditation integrated with the scriptures that helped me
to overcome years of depression. Christ-centered meditation helped me to become still enough so that I
could observe what was really going on in my mind. Until then, my mind was controlling my thoughts and
ultimately my behavior. It took me being still to even realize it. But once I recognized the thoughts I was
thinking I was able to challenge, alter, or eliminate them altogether. Ongoing and consistent meditation
taught me how to control my thoughts instead of allow them to control me. We can’t change what we
don’t see or acknowledge. I call it unconscious living. It’s when we continue to live on autopilot, doing
the same things, the same ways without really considering whether these behaviors are working for us
anymore.
