8 - Let Every Heart Rejoice and Sing
1.
1.
Let every heart rejoice and sing,
Let choral anthems rise;
Ye aged men, and children, bring
To God your sacrifice;
Words: Henry S. Washburne
Music: George J. Webb

8 - Let Every Heart Rejoice and Sing
For He is good, the Lord is good,
And kind are all His ways;
With songs and honors sounding loud,
The Lord Jehovah praise;
While the rocks and the rills,
While the vales and the hills
A glorious anthem raise;
Let each pro-long the grateful song,
And the God of our fathers praise,
And the God of our fathers praise.

He bids the sun to rise and set;
In heaven His power is known;
And earth, subdued to Him, shall yet
Bow low before His throne;

Your gift of love they crucified
They laughed and scorned Him as he died,
The humble King they named a fraud
and sacrificed the Lamb of God.

The Word of the Lord
Philippians 2:1-11 (ESV)
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any
comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit,
any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by
being of the same mind, having the same love,
being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do
nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but
in humility count others more significant than
yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his
own interests, but also to the interests of
others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which
is yours in Christ Jesus,
6 who,
though he was in the form of God, did not
count equality with God a thing to be
grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the
form of a servant, being born in the likeness of
men. 8 And being found in human form, he
humbled himself by becoming obedient to the
point of death, even death on a cross.
9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and
bestowed on him the name that is above every
name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, in heaven and on earth and under
the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Therefore, if there is any encouragement in
Christ, any comfort from love, any
participation in the Spirit, any affection and
sympathy,
Therefore, if there is any encouragement in
Christ, any comfort from love, any
participation in the Spirit, any affection and
sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the
same mind, having the same love, being in
full accord and of one mind.
3 Do
nothing from selfish ambition or
conceit, but in humility count others more
significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of
you look not only to his own interests, but
also to the interests of others. 5 Have this
mind among yourselves, which is yours in
Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13
12 Now
we have received not the spirit of the
world, but the Spirit who is from God, that
we might understand the things freely given
us by God.13 And we impart this in words
not taught by human wisdom but taught by
the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to
those who are spiritual.
16 For who has understood the mind of the
Lord so as to instruct him? But we have the
mind of Christ.
5 In
your relationships with one another, have the same
mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be
used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a slave,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death
even death on a cross!
9 Therefore
God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

6 Who,
being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used
to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a slave,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death
even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,

to the glory of God the Father.

250 – The Great Redeemer
1.
How I love the great Redeemer
Who is doing so much for me;
With what joy I tell the story
Of the love that makes men free.
Till my earthly life is ended,
I will send songs above,
Then beside the crystal sea
More and more my soul shall be
Praising Jesus and His love.

And everything shall always be;

A song of gladness in His praise;
Here, and in the world above,
My soul shall sing of saving love;
Life and light and joy is He,
The precious Friend who died for me.

He has purchased my redemption,
Rolled my burden of sin away,
And is walking on beside me,
Growing dearer day by day.
That is why I sing His praises,
That is why joy is mine,
That is why forever more
On the everlasting shore
I shall sing of love divine.

3.
Glory be to Him forever!
Endless praises to Christ the Lamb!
He has filled my life with sunshine,
He has made me what I am.
O that every one would know Him,
O that all would adore!
O that all would trust the love
Of the mighty Friend above
And be His forever more.
