Let your fingers do the updating…to the Employee Directory today
Have you ever been on the hunt for the phone
number of a fellow Cook Children’s employee and
come up empty-handed in Outlook and CookNet’s
people search? Or been leaving for a meeting in
someone’s office but at a loss as to where that office is
located?
The answer is probably “Yes” more than you would
like to admit but a solution is now at your
fingertips through the new Phone Update
tool on CookNet.
As we grow and move around,
there is an even greater need for
accuracy with regards to this
type of information and now
you get to control how accurate
your own contact and location
information is.
By using Phone Update, you are
are ensuring that you haven’t fallen off the grid and
your co-workers can locate you in CookNet’s Employee
Directory, Outlook, Lync and with our soon-to-bereleased “Just Say It” automated phone directory.
These resources are only as good as the accuracy
of the information in them. And YOU control that
accuracy now. Please visit Phone Update today to
verify your contact and location information.
Click “Edit” and enter any changes needed,
as well as selecting your correct location
from the drop down menu. Hit “Save”
and you will receive a confirmation
email that the changes are complete.
Remember that any time your
information changes, all you have
to do is jump onto CookNet and
complete a new update.
Seventh Street Bridge full closure begins this week
At 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, the Seventh Street Bridge will close for the beginning of a
150-day period as the old bridge is demolished and the new bridge is installed.
This project will affect traffic into and around downtown Fort Worth until this fall
when the world’s first concrete “thru-arch” signature bridge opens
connecting downtown and the Cultural District, and replacing the previous 100-year-old structure.
Standing ovation! Summer sun shines on a new Daisy winner
Our NICU helps the tiniest of our patients but the impact they have is sizable.
They help these babies grow stronger and stronger because of dedicated staff
like this month’s Daisy Award winner – Cody Greenwood (pictured far right).
Here’s what one mother had to say about him:
“[Cody] was attentive not only to my baby but anyone I brought in. If
they had any questions, he answered them. He and a few other nurses
took their time to teach my boyfriend how to feed, change diapers, burp
and sooth my daughter. He was my nurse only three times but he has
had a great impact on me, my daughter, my family and friends.”

Now you see a new UCC
With this week’s opening of the new Urgent Care Center across from the Medical Center, the campus maps
on CookNet have been updated to show this new location. PLEASE replace all printed copies of previous
Cook Children’s campus maps with these new versions.
Together we can ensure that our families know where to go when visiting Cook Children’s and get them to
the right place for the care their child needs and deserves.
FORE! Bedpan Open is an guaranteed hole-in-one of fun
Fun was teed up and driven straight down the fairway on May 21 at our Annual Bedpan Open, featuring
PGA players in town for the Crowne Plaza Colonial tournament.
Professional golfers Jordan Spieth, Franklin Corpening and Camilo Villegas assumed the role of caddie for
our patients as they navigated some of the trickiest holes this side of the PGA tour.
This year’s variety of holes, which were designed by Child Life and Family Support and Volunteer Services,
included putting greens that transported golfers to the worlds of Duck Dynasty, Wreck It Ralph, The Wizard of
Oz, Mouse Trap and a giant birthday party.
(l to r): A patient enjoys a Birthday Party, Jordan Spieth celebrates a sunk putt, Franklin Corpening gives
some putting pointers, and Camilo Villegas poses with one happy little golfer.
