PRESENTED BY 2015 Wrap Up Report The 9th Annual Stars & Stripes Festival returned to Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights, Michigan on June 25-28, 2015! The 2015 festival brought many changes including a new festival layout, national acts in the Amphitheatre, a craft beer village and several new attractions! Thank You To Our Partners! Charities Elks Club Care House Warrior Brotherhood Sterling Heights Band Boosters Dresden Elementary Disney Elementary Burr Elementary Thank you to all of the charitable organizations involved in the 2015 festival! Funfest Productions, Inc., creators of Stars & Stripes Festival, donated more than $50,000 to charities just this year and more than $450,000 since 2006 amongst all three of our festivals! Festival Website We utilize our website to communicate with the public and keep them aware of the great attractions and events happening at the festival. www.starsandstripesfest.com Festival Website • This year we had more than 87,000 views on our Stars & Stripes webpage! • On average 402 people check our webpage each day! Social Media This year, our followers increased by 30% on our Stars & Stripes Twitter account! This year, we gained 950 new followers on the Stars & Stripes Instagram account! This year, our followers increased by more than 15% on the Stars & Stripes page! Print Material We had a 10 page special Festival Insert in the Macomb Daily which was distributed in 100,000+ newspapers! 50,000 vouchers were distributed to the local community! 100s of posters were distributed to local businesses! Attractions The Vietnam Memorial Wall was featured at the 2015 Stars and Stripes festival next to the military memorials at Freedom Hill County Park. The wall was brought in by the Vietnam Veterans of America - Chapter #154. Attractions Fireworks Attractions The craft beer village was a new attraction to the 2015 festival. Eight different craft beer companies were featured throughout the weekend. The addition of the village allowed our charities to become involved in the festival in a new way. Attractions Shell-Camino Monster Trucks offered rides to attendees all weekend long! This was an attraction that allowed people of all ages to participate together! Family Fun Zone The Family Fun Zone featured several attractions for people of all ages including the petting zoo, camel rides, banana derby and pig racing! This year’s Family Fun Zone was sponsored by Fifth Third Bank! Family Fun Zone Family Fun Zone Carnival The carnival had a new layout this year that allowed guests to access the rest of the festival in an easier manner than past years. The new layout fostered more traffic between both sides of the festival. Carnival Live Music National headliners performed again in the Freedom Hill Amphitheatre at the Stars and Stripes Festival. Headliners included Buckcherry, Hoobastank , Scott Weiland, P.O.D., Sebastian Bach & Warrant! Live Music Numerous local bands from Detroit and surrounding areas played on the Pavilion Stage for the 2015 festival! Phone App This year, we featured a smartphone app that attendees were able to download as a festival guide. This application allowed guests to view the music lineup, sponsors, event map and much more. Food Vendors Novelty Vendors Art Fair The Art Fair had more than 30 artisans at the 2015 festival! These artists featured their hand made arts and crafts from all across the State of Michigan. Items featured in the art fair : • Candles • Clothing • Jewelry • Pet Items • Musical Instruments And much more! Featured Sponsor The presenting sponsor of the 2015 Stars & Stripes Festival, Massage Green Spa, received maximum media coverage through print, television and radio. The Massage Green Spa logo appeared alongside the Stars & Stripes logo on all marketing and branding materials. Featured Sponsor Featured Sponsor Featured Sponsor Meijer sponsored our entrances and the Enter to Win Giveaway that each attendee was able to participate in! Featured Sponsor The Meijer “Enter to Win Giveaway” also included prizes from several organizations. Massage Green donated a massage package, Michigan Lottery donated 50 lottery tickets to each winner and Freedom Hill Amphitheatre donated concert tickets. Giveaway Winners Eastpointe, MI Columbus, MI Sterling Heights, MI Sterling Heights, MI Featured Sponsor Salute to the Military The Army, National Guard and Vietnam Veterans all set up booths around the military memorials. They interacted with guests throughout the weekend. Military Family of the Year This year our military family of the year received $1,500 worth of furniture from Gardner -White Furniture and $1,000 from Funfest Productions, Inc. The military family of the year is then interviewed by Channel 7 WXYZ and brought on stage to receive their award. Channel 7 WXYZ Channel 4 WDIV Fox 2 Macomb Daily Media Media Media Local radio stations sponsored national headliners at the 2015 Stars and Stripes Festival. 89X, The D 106.7 and 101 WRIF all broadcasted live from the festival.
