Tie 5 Tsumami Kanzashi Tutorial Fabric Preparaon – Supply List Kitty-kanzashi Introducon Welcome to my tutorial for tsumami kanzashi. Fabric My aim with these tutorials is to provide a detailed explana7on of all the steps that I take to make kanzashi. Along the way I will let you know of all the problems which I encountered and the many solu7ons to resolve them. So without further ado I’ll begin! Starch Iron and ironing board (not in the picture as they are too big) CuIng mat Rotary cu8er Metal ruler Chapter One – Things you need! Tsumami kanzashi made in the tradi7onal way require a lot of Flower Petals Construcon – Supply List supplies but don’t worry most of the supplies are easily obtained from your nearest Arts and CraE Store. If your physical store fails you then there is the internet which will fill in the gaps. Kanzashi bases – Supply List Wooden board S7ck Rice glue (this will be a li8le bit difficult to obtain but well worth it) Tweezer Glue Awl Pencil or pen for marking Pliers Wire cu8ers 24 gauge wire Circle stencil S7ff paper Felt Scissors 6 Squares of fabric Scissors (a sharp pair) Bases Damp cloth (not in picture) Decorang and Assembling – Supply List hide the base from view, thus crea7ng a nicer look. What you may find very handy if you keep making the same size bases are punches. They are really good if you are using just paper or card but they do not work on felt so I don’t use them. However you can always buy pre-cut felt discs from etsy which for me are a godsend. You now have a disc of felt and paper. With the felt disc, apply a thin layer of glue all over the felt and put aside to dry a bit. Embellishment (pearls, beads anything that you like) Chaine8e (braided thread) Aluminium (florist) wire Mount (hairband, hairgrips, comb or brooch) If you are wondering what the aluminium wire is used for, well it will be used to make hairpins for the maiko style kanzashi. With the paper disc, take your awl and pierce the centre of the disc. Oh and the most important thing of all is pa7ence and lots of it as you will soon find out. Chapter Two – Making the bases What you are making here are the bases for the folded petals to be glued on. This tutorial creates the most basic bases used for kanzashi making but there is a slight altera7on you can make to the base to create a different look. I will go through this later in the kanzashi tutorials. We apply the glue on the felt because if we apply it onto the paper, there is a chance that the glue will curl the paper which will make it hard to play with. Now, they are tradi7onally made from card but I favour using Now take your 24 gauge wire and cut a piece of wire that is 14 a combina7on of paper and felt on the top as it give the petals cm in length. Straighten it up a li8le as it is likely to be curled up. edge something to grip onto. We begin with marking the felt and paper with the desired disc size and cuIng them out with your scissors. From one end bend a 3cm piece so that it is at right angle to As a rough guide, your base should be marginally smaller then the remaining wire. the flower size i.e for a 3cm flower a base of 2.5cm is recommended. Why you may ask? Because this way, the petals will 7 Tada!!! You made a base, but only one, you will need to make more if you wish to make a complete arrangement. Now bend the 3cm bit of wire into a spiral like so. Using another pair of pliers will make this much easier but you can be lazy like me and just use your fingers. You could of course just bend a smaller piece of metal so that you don’t have to curl it but I find that unless you use a lot of glue the paper and felt will pivot on that bit of wire. By curling it into a spiral, it gives the base stability which is necessary when you are arranging them at the end. Now you can begin puIng things together. Take your prepared wire and thread it through the pierce centre of the paper disc. Now align the paper disc to the glued felt disc and press to make sure both discs are glued. Leave to dry before using in the next stage or the paper and felt will slip. Kitty-Kanzashi 8 Lazy-Anime By: Princess-Lazy-Chan Anime: Death Note Rated: Teen 17+ Episodes: 37 AvailabletoreadinMangaon: http:// www.mangareader.net/113/death-note.html Availableto watch on: http:// www.animefreak.tv/watch/death-note-englishdubbed-online-free During just another normal day, Yagami Light stumbles upon a black notebook known as the Death Note. This notebook belongs to a shinigami, Ryuk, having the ability to kill anyone who has their name wri8en in it. As the new owner of the Death Note, Light's true desires surfaces, yearning to cleanse the world of evil by murdering a large number of criminals. When the world begins to no7ce the existence of this unknown killer, legendary detec7ve L is brought onto the case; star7ng a war between "Kira" and L. Whoever is able to find out the others iden7ty first will be the one to survive. Based on the manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. It has a lot of death obviously and murder, it’s a mystery anime. I Loved this anime a lot what will happen next and such was always there. How the Super natural aspect came into it as well like god’s of death made it more enjoyable then the typical murder mystery stuff. I recommend it but I’ve heard some people say that it is scary. Hope you enjoy it if you do chose to watch it. 5 out of 5 because I loved it that much and re watch it over and over. Lazy-Chan xox 9 This Musubi works best with a Hakkata obi., and I found it was handy to have someone standing by to lend a hand at one or to points. Good luck.
