A Double-D coil has two overlapping wire
windings in the shape of two D’s back to
back. One for transmit and one for receive.
The Monoloop coils have one winding of wire
around the outer perimeter of the coil which
is used to both transmit and receive.

The benefits of a Double-D coil are stability in
highly mineralised soil types, good depth and
sensitivity, and discrimination capabilities with
the Pulse Induction machines (Iron Reject).

The Mono’s field is like a cone shape into
the ground and is generally more sensitive
and has better depth than the DD coils of
equivalent size. These coils require more
overlapping when swinging and perform best
with a slow sweep speed.
The Anti-Interference coil is a specifically wound coil
to cancel out the effects of high interference areas
like in salty conditions, near power lines or other noisy
environments.

They require less overlap when swinging and
have a blade like field into the ground.
These coils only work with the Minelab Pulse
Induction machines
The AI coils only suit the pulse induction machines
from Minelab and can still discriminate like a DD.
They are best run in normal
mode on the detectors and have
similar depth and sensitivity to
the equivalent size DD coil.
