More and more patients expect cures or elimination of their symptoms.
In disorders of neurogastroenterology these expectations are often difficult to meet. This patient group is becoming larger as we are now aware
of the population of IBD patients with IBS symptoms despite inflammatory remission. We still lack knowledge for understanding and treating
disorders of motility and pain sufficiently. The way forward is as always:
more research and systematic approaches in the clinic.
