WHAT IS DAISY`S DOZEN? - Girl Scouts North Carolina Coastal Pines
DAISY’S DOZEN TROOP PROGRAM ASSESSMENT TOOL WHAT IS D AISY’S D OZEN? In honor of the vision that Juliette Gordon Low, affectionately known as “Daisy,” had for girls across the nation, Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines asks all of our troops to complete The Daisy’s Dozen Troop Program Assessment Tool. This annual assessment will provide you, the troop leader, with the opportunity to work with your service unit, your troop families, and the girls to ensure that they are receiving an enriching Girl Scout experience. WE NEED YOUR HELP! You have so many great experiences with your troop – we know it can be hard to capture and remember them all! However, with the Daisy’s Dozen Troop Program Assessment Tool, you can share with our council your Girl Scout Troop’s story! What did the girls enjoy? What did you learn as a leader? How can we become an even better program for girls throughout our 41 counties in the future? Your voice truly matters! NOW, TAKE IT A STEP FURTHER – BECOME A DAISY’S D OZEN ELITE TROOP! We know that our troops are awesome, but we want to challenge you to take that extra step to become a Daisy’s Dozen Elite Troop! Troops who reach “Elite” status have used the steps outlined below to involve girls in planning a Girl Scout Leadership Experience that is balanced, multi-faceted and grade appropriate! Only 12 troops from throughout the council will be selected each program year as Daisy’s Dozen Elite Troops! Here’s how you can get started: Complete activities from the following categories: Membership Girl Scout Traditions Encouraging Entrepreneurship Troop Banking and Finance Beyond the Troop The Girl Scout Leadership Experience Looking Forward Submit your completed Daisy’s Dozen Troop Program Assessment Tool by June 1st. Please Note: An activity can be used to fulfill only one requirement. However, the activities can be applied to different awards the girls are currently working on. The patch may be worn on the back of the girl’s uniform vest or sash. The majority of troop members must participate in the activities. The Daisy’s Dozen Troop Program Assessment Tool covers activities completed between October 1st and May 15th. This report must be completed by all troops – Girl Scout Daisies through Girl Scout Ambassadors - and submitted by June 1st. All troops that submit a report by the deadline will receive a free patch that was designed by a Girl Scout from our very own council! Submit to your service unit representative no later than June 1st of the current program year.
