This month the Club will be hosting a pop-up comedy night on Friday, March 6 complete with local comedians, drink specials and lots of laughs. Gather your group of friends for a fun Friday night out! Our comedian lineup is sure to impress with local talent, award-winners and some familiar faces, each performing 7 - 10 minutes of hysterical stand-up. Invite your friends and family and reserve your seat soon! Event price is only $10++ per person and includes the comedy show and fantastic drink specials. Steve is also the producer of the Sockitumi Comedy Hour and Clothesline Comedy. DAVID FREEBURG Has been featured on Fox's TV show "Laughs" and hosts "Ian's Comedy by the Slice" open mic on Thursday nights at Ian's Pizza on State Street. ELLIOT GB Elliot is the winner of "The Cut" 2013, an improv comedy competition. He performs weekly with Atlas Improv in Madison. ANTONIO AGUILAR Performs regularly in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan. Antonio is the winner of the "Snark Madness Milwaukee" in 2014. ANTHONY SIRAGUSE Denver import recently transplanted to Madison, Anthony hosts open mic night at The Argus on Mondays and performs regularly at the Comedy Club on State Street. PAUL MILLER Host of the "Keeping it Real" open mic night on Saturdays at The Cheba Hut, Paul has performed at over 100 open mics in 2014. MARTIN HENN Local comic who can be seen at the Comedy Club on State Street. Martin is also a resident bartender at the Madison Club! Madison Club Executive Chef Andrew Wilson will be a part of this competition, vying for your vote! Plus, learn more about the heritage pig movement through a Heritage Hog tasting room, craft punch cocktail competition and whole pig butchery demonstration. Dinner reservations will be taken for dining in the Club Room. It might be dreary outside, but the mood couldn't be higher in Churchill's Dining Room this month! Every Saturday in March, Executive Chef Andrew Wilson and his team will be offering a special themed-menu of classic supper club favorites. Enjoy our seafood action station complete with customized iced seafood platters with fresh shucked oysters, poached Gulf shrimp and snow crab legs, in addition to a special menu brimming with authentic favorites, including slow-roasted prime rib with horseradish cream and red wine au jus, beer-battered walleye fish fry, broiled lobster for two, house-made bisque, plus classic salads, steak, and soups. This year’s beloved holiday celebration will feature a gourmet, seasonal buffet including made-to-order omelettes, fresh seafood, chef-carved ham, authentic potato hash, and belgian waffles with fruit toppings. And, enjoy an array of decadent homemade scones, pastries, pies and desserts. Many kidfriendly dishes will be available, too! CHOCOLATE STOUT CAKE - 1 C Stout-style beer (ex. Guinness) - 8 oz. unsalted butter - 3/4 C cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-processed) - 2 C all-purpose flour - 1 1/2 t. baking soda - 2 C sugar - 1 1/2 t. salt - 2 eggs - 2/3 C sour cream 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter or spray/parchment two* 8inch round cake pans. 2. Combine Stout and butter in a small sauce pan and heat until butter is melted. Whisk in cocoa powder until smooth. Set mixture aside to cool. 3. Sift together flour and baking soda. Whisk in sugar and salt. Set aside. 4. Use electric mixer to combine the eggs and sour cream. Add the Stout/ cocoa mixture and beat to combine. 5. On slow speed, mix in the flour/ sugar until all ingredients are incorporated. 6. Divide batter evenly between cake pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a center pick comes out clean. 7. Level cakes once they have cooled and layer and frost with your choice of icing or whipped cream. *For a 3 layer cake, double the recipe and use 9" round cake pans. While you dine, be on the lookout for the Easter Bunny hopping through the Club, greeting families, posing for pictures, and delivering surprises to the kids! Price is $33.95++ for adults and $14.95++ for children ages 5-12. There is no charge for kids under 5 years. On Saturday, April 25 help us welcome home an entire plane of local veterans from their Badger Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C.!
