Free entrance to the Castillo de San Marcos all week long to celebrate the
National Park Service's 100th Anniversary
About the Castillo: The Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest masonry fort in the
continental United States. It is a large Spanish stone fortress built to protect and
defend Spain’s claims in the New World. It’s a National Monument and, at over
315 years old, it’s the oldest structure in the entire city! At the fort visitors will
find plenty to explore, from the numerous rooms that once housed soldiers and prisoners of every era, to the large
interior courtyard and gun deck which offers a great view of the city.

DEPARTURES 2016: A Juried Student Exhibition
April 23 - July 30, 2016
Departures is a juried exhibition that highlights photography by recent graduates of the
Daytona State College photography program.
Since the program’s inception over 50 years ago, Daytona State College Photography
Program graduates have taken their place among the nation’s leading photographers.The
program has since grown into one of the largest, most comprehensive commercial
photography programs in the Southeastern U.S. This is the tenth year that the Southeast
Museum of Photography has had the honor of showcasing the work of these recent
graduates and it will continue to be a yearly summer event at the museum. Museum Hours:
T,Th,F: 11-5 pm, W: 11-7 pm, Sat: 1-5 pm. Closed Sundays & Mondays. Admission: Museum

Jeep Beach

Jeep enthusiasts celebrate a passion for off-road vehicles over five days of familyfriendly fun for Jeep owners.
Activities: Obstacle courses for all levels of drivers; Meet face-to-face with leading
industry vendors; Drive in a beach parade; Try your luck on winning prizes in our
huge raffles; Party with new and old Jeep friends; The event has become the largest
Jeep only five-day event in the southeast USA. Thousands are expected, so make

A Taste of St. Augustine 2016
Saturday, April 23, 2016, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at St. Augustine Amphitheatre
Vacationers and locals can try authentic St. Augustine dishes at this annual
food festival!
A Taste of St. Augustine is the annual outdoor food festival featuring
“tastes” from over 30 participating St. Augustine restaurants. There will
also be live music all day long and plenty of fun activities for children. EPIC
Behavioral Healthcare produces the event annually, and all proceeds go to
this community-based non-profit organization. Vacationers and locals can
taste the day away at this fun, family-friendly outdoor festival. A special Race to the Taste 5K will raise money for epic
and give runners free access to the festival with their registration. There will be live bands performing all day long.
Admission: $5 per person and taste tickets are $1 each with restaurants charging between 1 and 5 tickets per taste.

Lynrd Skynrd with Blackfoot

Once in a while a musical force will burst on the scene and forever change that scene.
One of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed Southern Rock groups of the
1970’s, Lynryd Skynryd was such a force. Songwriter and bandmember Rickey Medlocke
formed Blackfoot, and now plays for the end-all-be-all of rock from the south, Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Come out and revel in smokin’ guitar solos!

Annual Birding & Photo Fest
April 27 – May 1, 2016 at Guana Tolomato Matanzas NERR
Over 140 workshops, outdoor excursions, classes and seminars make this
annual event a must-do for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.
Now in its 14th year, Florida's Birding & Photo Fest has gained international
acclaim among nature lovers and photography enthusiasts, with
attendance growing every year.
Registration: There is a one-time fee of $25.00 per person to rgister. All
classes, workshops, and activities have their own cost, which is listed on the
schedules. All participants are required to pay the registration fee in order to be placed on the 2016 festival guest list
(any persons who have not pre-registered will be required to do so on site).
Where? The festival is headquartered at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas Research Reserve, located at 505 Guana River
Rd. in Ponte Vedra Beach, about ten miles north of historic downtown St. Augustine.
