The classic homemade fish finger recipe involves Boneless fish pieces that are
seasoned with tongue tingling spices, coated in bread crumbs and then deep fried.

Ingredients:
1. 1 kg boneless fish
2. Corn flour : 1 cup
3. 2 Eggs
4. Bread crumbs: 1 cup
5. Salt
6. 1 tsp Red chili powder
7. ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
8. 2 tsp Lemon juice
9. Crushed black pepper
10. Vegetable oil to deep fry/Olive Oil for baked fish Finger
11. 2-3 green chilies (paste)
12. 2 tsp garlic paste
13. 2 tsp ginger paste
14. 3 onions (small, ground to a paste)
15. Zest of 1 lemon
Recipe Procedure:
1. Take the boneless fish, clean it and cut it into finger sized pieces. (Most
probably 1 inch wide)
2. In a separate bowl, mix onion paste, garlic paste, ginger paste & green chili
paste. Add lemon juice, turmeric and red chili powder to the paste.
Note: You can replace red chili with crushed black pepper corns
3. Marinate the fish pieces with the paste & let it rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
4. In another bowl mix egg, salt & crushed pepper. Beat the mixture until
smooth. Keep the consistency medium.
5. Take a plate and prepare a mixture of breadcrumbs & lemon zest.
6. Take another plate and place corn flour on it.
7. Now dip the marinated fish strips into the flour, followed by egg mixture, &
then roll them in a mixture of bread crumbs & lemon zest.
How to Cook?
Deep fry:
1. Pre-heat the Vegetable oil for few minutes.
2. Place the fish fingers carefully in the oil and deep or shallow fry on medium
flame.
3. Turn fish fingers occasionally for uniform cooking & color.
4. When cooked, transfer the fried fish fingers to a plate lined with paper towel
or bread slice to drain excess oil. Enjoy with zesty Tartar sauce, mayo,
tomato sauce or lemon wedges.
Baked:
1. Pre-heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6.
2. Brush a non-stick baking sheet with olive oil to prevent the fish from
sticking to it.
3. Transfer the fish to the baking sheet and bake for around 20 minutes until
golden.
4. Serve it hot with tomato sauce and lemon wedges.

Pre- heat the grill for 10- 15 minutes.
Brush the fish with olive oil and place it over the grill.
Turn fish fingers occasionally. Cook until crisp and golden.
