Everyday Ways to Help the Animals
Are you an Amazon shopper?
If so, go Amazon via smile.amazon.com, choose Chemung County Humane Socity for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as your charity and Amazon will donate 5% of qualifed purchases to us —

Shop our Amazon Wish List
If you would like to shop for the shelter animals from the comfort of your own home, it’s easy with our
Amazon Wish List. To locate the list at amazon.com, go to the Wish List button at the top right of the page
and choose Find a Wish List or Registry. Enter Chemung County SPCA, search and you will find links to our
greatest needs.
Walk for a Dog
If you are an iPhone or Droid user, download the free Wooftrax Walk for a Dog app. Choose the Chemung
County Humane Society & SPCA as your shelter and Wooftrax will donate for every mile you walk. The app
tracks your distance and gives you a map of your journey. It also tells you how many times you’ve walked
using the app and your total miles. It’s fun and it helps the cats and dogs who stop here at the shelter..
Attend a Fundraising Event
Join us for our Celebrity Chef | Tastings event. Sign on as a “dog” for In the Doghouse in July—or help a
friend get out of the doghouse. Recruit supporters for our 23rd annual Walk ‘n Wag in September. Bring
you furry friend for a Holiday Photo on November 22. All these events raise the money we need to care
for homeless animals, promote animal health through spay/neuter and rabies clinics, and teach the next
generation of pet owners about compassion and responsible pet ownership.
Shop at our Online Store
Visit our online store at ChemungStore.com for great deals on all your pet needs and a portion of your
purchase will help the shelter animals. You can even sign up for a pet food subscription. Your pet’s food will
be automatically delivered at an interval you choose—and you get 15% off.
Advocate via Social Media
Facebook is the best way for us to tell the world about our adoptable animals, share information, alert
people about lost and found pets, let people know what the animals need and—of course—show funny, cute,
heartwarming photos and videos. By liking, commenting and sharing, you help us reach more people who
care about homeless animals and are looking for ways to help them. Some of our best adoptions have
happened because someone fell in love with a pet that a Facebook friend shared and many critical supplies
have arrived the same way. Sharing a Facebook post or tweeting about your favorite adoptable pet only
takes a few seconds, but may bring one of our adoptable cats and dogs to the attention of a family who will
love them for a lifetime.

website, ChemungSPCA.org to find a comprehensive list of the things we need. Scroll down to the bottom
of the home page and click the Wish List button.
Make a Cash Gift
You may use the enclosed envelope to send a cash or credit card gift to the shelter. You may also give at
our website: ChemungSPCA.org. Or stop by—we would love to show you around and the animals are always
eager to greet visitors. With your support, we can give homeless animals the love, attention and second
chances they deserve. We can help prevent homelessness through our spay/neuter and owner assistance
programs and we can teach children about compassion and responsible pet ownership. It’s a big job, but
with your help, we can do it.
