The Bad, The Broken, and the Bored
Realizing God’s Potential - Adults and Children of All Ages Welcome
June 12, 2008, Bee Cave, TX—Free Chapel will host a “sneak peek” of the new church
July 20, 2008. Meeting at the Hill Country Galleria Cinemark Theatre, the church invites
the Lake Travis community members to attend a special Sunday service. Free Chapel is a new, non-denominational church serving the Lake Travis community from
Steiner Ranch to Spicewood Springs and everything in between.
“People tell me all the time that they are not religious, but that they are very
spiritual. I say, ‘That’s great!
I’m not religious either!’” says
lead pastor, Jeremy Self. “In
fact, we are a church for the
bad, the broken and the
bored.”
This “sneak peak” will
give people an opportunity
to come out and “kick
the tires.” It will include
a professionally staffed,
loving, and quality nursery
for infants through
preschoolers. In addition,
exciting services are
slated for school-aged
children in Free Chapel
Kids. Adults can enjoy the
rockin’ music, video, and
quality sound, creatively
utilizing the arts with an
inspirational message.
“The event will allow Lake
Travis community members
to gather together to celebrate
and get an insider’s view of this
new, life-giving church,” stated
Free Chapel Lead Pastor Jeremy
Self. “These monthly events, in July and August, allow our church to share our ‘no perfect
people allowed’ philosophy. This is our tool to expand our team with people who want to be
a part of realizing God’s potential for their lives in order to better serve the community.”
This coming “sneak peek” Preview Service of Free Chapel begins at 9 a.m.
Sunday, July 20.
You can expect to find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere--there’s no need to be formal! There
will be greeters and ushers to help you, your family, and your friends find your way around
and answer any questions you might have. In typical Austin style, uplifting, live music will
be rockin’. The lead pastor, Jeremy Self, will share a relevant message that offers Biblical
truths in simple, practical language! At Free Chapel they are offering a “no-hassle guarantee,” stating “We’re always here to
serve you in any way we can, but we promise that you won’t be singled out or pressured. You
are free to come, observe, and participate in a way that’s comfortable for you.” The “sneak
peek” at Free Chapel is going to be a celebration the whole family will enjoy!
In the summer of 1995, a deep seed of love for the people of Austin was planted in the
heart of the Lead Pastor Jeremy Self. After a thirteen year gestation period, the seed
is beginning to blossom, as Free Chapel loves this community through helping people
realize God’s potential!
For more information on Free Chapel, please contact the church at 512-736-3865 or visit

Taming the Cost of Teens
by Rich Keith
(NAPS)—Family time is priceless—but today’s teens still cost
about a thousand dollars a month. It may seem hard to believe, but
if you consider braces, clothes and gadgets, you can probably see
how costs begin to mount. Fortunately, there are ways to curtail the
cost of having teens. Try these ideas:
New Clothes:
Instead of battling with your teen over designer duds, offer a
“matching funds” program: You decide how much you’re willing
to pay for an item and your teen foots the difference. Or go with a
lump sum plan: Figure out how much you’d spend on your teen in a
semester or quarter and give your child that amount of cash. When
it’s gone, it’s gone (this could even teach your teen a little fiscal
responsibility).
The Extra in Extra Curriculars:
Football uniforms, equipment, band gear and other extra curricular
activity costs can add up. Some requests may be reasonable, but some
might not be. If your teen develops a sudden interest that you suspect
may be fleeting, suggest that he pitches in 20 percent of the activity’s
cost from his allowance or paycheck.
Curtail College Prep
College application fees can run $16 to $75 per school, the S.A.T.
costs $41.50 and prep courses can run you into the hundreds. Use the
Web to narrow down the list of campuses your teen visits and applies
to. Then squeeze some visits into your next family vacation to help
limit extra travel costs. Contain College Costs
Tuition is up at many schools, but there are still costs you can
control. For instance, a survey found that after tuition, fees, and
room and board, the biggest college expense was car upkeep. Save a
bundle by allowing your teen to walk or buy a bus pass. Also, save
by shopping for textbooks online and have your teen use prepaid cell
phones.
The Big Picture
Although your teen may pressure you to keep up with the Joneses,
it’s your job to remember what’s really important: saving for their
college education. Don’t let today’s trends compromise their future.
The guidance of a financial professional can often be helpful when
developing a college savings plan. For more information call Rich
Keith at (512) 266-8498 or send email to [email protected]

Starting The Day Off
On A Delicious Note
(NAPSA)-How you spend the morning hours can set the tone
for the remainder of the day.
Fortunately, there are many easy ways to get your day off to
a great start. Here are a few simple suggestions:
• Take a brisk walk. A walk first thing in the morning can
reduce stress and generate energy for the rest of the day.
Having a buddy to walk with and talk to can also be a mood
booster.
• Listen to music. Your favorite music can create a sense
of peace or fun that sets the mood. If you walk, take your
iPod.
• Practice yoga. Yoga provides good stress management and
exercise. Even fitting in a few minutes of yoga stretching
each morning can benefit you.
• Stretch during the shower. Hot water can loosen muscles
and relieve tension.
• Eat breakfast. Start your day off with delicious, nutritious
food. Eating breakfast has been shown to help people
concentrate during the day and help them maintain a healthy
weight.

Vary what you eat so every morning offers tasty treats. For
example, substitute nectarine juice for orange juice. A new purepressed process makes it easier to extract not-from-concentrate
nectarine juice from nectarines.
Starting with only the finest California-grown nectarines,
the process gently steams the nectarines in a “spa treatment”
to relax and tenderly release the pit, skin and flesh. The process
yields 100 percent pure Sun Shower nectarine juice, capturing
all the flavor, color, sweetness and nutrition. Drinking only
eight ounces of nectarine juice means you get two servings of
fruit for the day.
Nectarine juice has no added sugar or preservatives and is
high in potassium, vitamin C, antioxidants and phytonutrients.
It is rich in beta carotene and is fat free and cholesterol free. It’s
less acidic than orange juice and, having only 90 calories per
serving, has 20 percent fewer calories. For more information,
visit www.nbi juiceworks.com.
• Start your day the night before. Lay out your clothes and
everything you have to take with you in the morning, so you
won’t have to rush around looking for things when you’re
not quite awake.
