CLIP-IN TILE & PLANK SYSTEMS
Using a concealed suspension system, LUXALON® Metal Clip-in Tile Ceilings provide
a monolithic, uncluttered ceiling appearance. The Clip-in Profile is used to support two
opposite edges of the tile on the rigid grid system, which ensures the ceiling is aligned
and easily levelled.
Perimeter tiles are cut into an edge cover profile offering tight closed joint details,
making the system ideal for areas related to hygiene.
For varied aesthetics applied to the interior, a range of square and rectangular
aluminium, zinc/aluminium coated steel and stainless steel tiles are offered in a range
of colours and perforation patterns.
Combining perforation patterns with the inclusion of factory-fitted, non-woven
material, makes the LUXALON® Metal Clip-in Tile Ceiling System a highly effective
acoustic ceiling.

Hook-oN TILE & PLANK SYSTEMS
Using a concealed suspension system, LUXALON® Metal Hook-on Tile Ceilings
provide a monolithic, uncluttered ceiling appearance. The suspension design
comprises a series of pre-punched profiles, so that each tile simply hooks into
the next tile during installation. The tiles overlap above the rigid grid to provide
strong alignment and levelling characteristics. It is the optimum system for
supporting large tiles and long planks.
For varied aesthetics applied to the interior, a range of square and rectangular
aluminium, zinc/aluminium coated steel and stainless steel tiles are offered in a
range of colours and perforation patterns.
Combining perforation patterns with the inclusion of factory-fitted, non-woven
material, makes the LUXALON® Metal Hook-on Tile Ceiling System a highly
effective acoustic ceiling.

lay-iN TILE SYSTEMS
Using an exposed suspension system, LUXALON® Metal Lay-in Tile Ceilings
accentuate the grid pattern. Ceiling tiles lay into a standard T-grid and can be
flush with the grid or recessed to give a tegular effect with a bevelled edge.
The use of a standard T-grid with the LUXALON® Metal Lay-in Tiles makes the
system an ideal option for refurbishment and integration with other systems.
Since this system offers easy access and adaptability, lighting and services
can be conveniently repositioned. This is particularly useful for supermarkets,
laboratories, computer suites and commercial offices.
For varied aesthetics applied to the interior, a range of square and rectangular

LUXALON® Metal Tile Ceilings are available in three standard
perforation patterns with an open area of 16%, 20% or 22%
for optimum acoustic performance. As a standard feature
perforated tiles are supplied with a factory-fitted, sound
absorbing non-woven tissue glued into the tile for enhanced

The Clip-in Tile System is a concealed
grid system comprising of a proprietary
primary and secondary grid profile.
The primary grid is spaced at 1200mm
centres apart and is supported with
standard 6mm diameter galvanised
steel rods connected to “Suspension
Brackets with Clamps” at minimum
1200mm centres. A secondary grid
profile is secured to the primary grid
with “Cross Connectors with Clamps”
at intersections spaced apart to suit
the size of the metal tile.
Clip in Tiles are fitted with dimples
on two sides for engagement into the
secondary Clip-in Profile and hence
determine the spacing of the secondary
grid. The primary grid is secured
at the perimeter to meet seismic
requirements.
Once the grid is installed, ensuring
it is adequately levelled and braced,
the tiles are fitted by simply pushing
up until the dimples are located into
the secondary grid. Removal of tiles
is achieved by a special Clip-in Tile
removal tool.
Hook-on Tile System
The Hook-on Tile System is a concealed
grid system comprising of a proprietary
primary and secondary grid.
A primary punched angle is spaced
at 1200mm centres apart and is
supported with standard 6mm diameter
galvanised steel rods. A secondary ‘Z’
Punched Profile is connected to the
punched angle with bolted connections
at pre-determined spacings to suit the
size of the tiles.
The grid is secured at the perimeter to
meet local seismic requirements. Once
the grid is completely installed ensure it
is adequately levelled and braced. The
tiles are formed with flanges on two
opposing sides for support onto the ‘Z’
Profile.
Install Hook-on Tiles by lifting and
shifting the tile to hook on the ‘Z’
Profile. To remove, carefully lift, partially
rotate and shift, then remove and lower
the tile.
Lay-in Tile System
The Lay-in Tiles System consists of
tiles that are designed to be laid into a
standard commercial exposed two-way
T-grid system.
The grid is comprised of a pre-punched
main runner interconnected together
with cross runners to form a grid
module to suit the metal tile size.
The ceiling T-grid should be installed
in accordance with the manufacturer’s
specifications. Install Lay-in Metal Tiles
by lifting and shifting the tile to lay into
the flanges of the exposed main and
cross T-grid members.
Lay-in Tiles can be flush with the grid
or recessed to give a tegular effect
with either square or bevelled edges.
Tiles can be easily removed individually
without affecting adjacent tiles.

non-standard tiles are used. Made from polyester fibres and
finished with a matt black face for total blackout, the bulk
density-to-air ratio of Hushpoly ensures optimum acoustic
performance. It has a low fire rating and is user-friendly, with
no special protection required by installers. Three types of
Hushpoly are available, including two for high performance
installations.

positive engagement into the Clip-in Profile and also
allow for demounting of individual tiles. Tiles will be
bevel / square edged.
Tiles shall be with / without non-woven acoustic tissue
backing.
Suspension: Clip-in Profiles located at tile centres
shall be fastened to the primary suspension by means
of rail connectors at 1250mm centres. The primary
suspension will be suspended at 1250mm centres.

Tiles will have a double bent edge at one end to form
a hook to engage the Z-Profile and single bend at the
opposite end. All tiles will / will not have 2mm factory
installed gasket. Tiles will be bevel / square edged.
Bevel edged tiles are recessed 10mm below the level of
the T-grid / square edged tiles are flush with the T-grid.
Tiles shall be with / without non-woven acoustic tissue
backing.
The LUXALON® Lay-in Tile System will consist of metal
tiles laid into a standard commercial T-grid system as
per the manufacturer’s specifications.

The system will consist of metal tiles supported on
two sides by a pre-punched primary and secondary
suspension system. Rows of pre-punched L-shaped,
2mm galvanised steel primary angles shall be installed
at 1200mm centres supported by ……….mm high
hangers fixed to the upper structure at a maximum
distance of 1250mm centre to centre.
LAY-IN
Tiles shall be with / without non-woven acoustic tissue
backing.
The use of a primary suspension system is optional at
the discretion of the installer.
Supply and install according to the fixing instructions
of Hunter Douglas Commercial, a division of Hunter
Douglas Limited.
