Principal’s Message
As we enter our tenth and final month of the school year, I would like to thank all parents for their
involvement in their children’s education at St. Monica. Through your assistance we have all experienced another successful year. On May 14, our CSPC raised close to $2300 during our annual bazaar. These funds are earmarked for a new SmartBoard system to be installed in one of our new
Kindergarten classrooms. We thank parents for supporting all of our fundraising events of this year.
A reminder that the last day of school is June 29 and we are asking students to dress in red and
white as we celebrate the spirit of Canada Day. Our Nutrition Program for this year ends on June 3.
Thanks to Ms. Goutlet and all the volunteers who enabled the program to work. The morning snack
will resume towards the end of next September. This week students in Ms. Clarke’s gr. 5 class promoted a school-wide campaign called “Ride Your Bike to School Week”. Through announcements,
posters, prizes and exemplary teamwork her students were able to motive the safe arrival/departure
of over 30 bikes/scooters daily. Another example of exemplary practice has been demonstrated by
our Track & Field team members who
qualified for the City Finals.(left to right)
Rachel Draper, Mae Masalunga, Elohra
Mobo, Anna McGovern (all gr. 7), Katie
McGovern (gr. 3), Alecca Rimando (gr.
8), Sara Parsons (gr.7). Alecca earned 6th
place in long jump, the gr. 7 girls placed
4th in the 4X100m relay and Katie
placed 3rd in the 100m race. Congratulation girls and the T & F coaches under
the leadership of Mr. McElhinney. Have
a safe and healthy summer.
This day and always As we look forward To the summer ahead, May our faith grow stronger With each passing day. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen Administration
