Door to Door Transport
Our door to door service is very popular and we provide it
as standard on ALL our British and European holidays.
Although we sometimes may provide a taxi or similar, in
most cases our uniformed driver will pick you up and take
you directly to the coach boarding point. We have eight
Mercedes Benz air-conditioned vehicles. As well as being
very convenient, this service allows you to unwind right
away and start your holiday in style. (Please Note: Our door
to door service may include multiple pick ups within your
pick up area and may result in a lengthy journey before
joining the coach.)
Once on board, you will find travelling on our modern and
well equipped coaches to be a relaxing and enjoyable

Nestling in ten acres of landscaped grounds and situated midway between the
Borders Region and Scotland’s southwest, this hotel is located in the centre of

we enjoy some superb scenery as we head into Upper Weardale and the market
town of Alston before returning to Gretna. DAY 3 Leaving after breakfast we
travel to the Lake District, along Bassenthwaite Lake to the town of Keswick, where
we take a break and have chance to look around. Continuing past Thirlmere and
over Dunmail Raise we stop in Wordsworth’s Grasmere for a while before we return
via Ambleside, Windermere, the spectacular Kirkstone Pass and beautiful Ullswater
to Penrith and onto the hotel. DAY 4 This morning we cross into Scotland and
head into the undiscovered Southwest – Dumfries and Galloway. We take the
Solway Heritage Route to Dumfries where Scotland’s national poet spent the last
years of his life. There will be opportunity to visit Robert Burns House and the Burns
Mausoleum as well as time for lunch and shopping. We continue along the coastal
smugglers route well known to Burns in his capacity as an exciseman, to New
Abbey for an afternoon tea stop. DAY 5 After breakfast we begin our journey
home where upon arrival back in the local area, your taxi will be waiting to return
you to your home.

Located on the edge of Rockingham village, with the magnificent Rockingham
Castle nearby, this hotel offers en-suite bedrooms equipped with TV, telephone,

and the park. The castle is the magnificent centrepiece of the estate. It is a large
quadrangular house with a central courtyard. Each section has a different
appearance, reflecting the changing styles of architecture since building began in
the 13th century. DAY 3 Today we are off to the University City of Cambridge and
we can explore the famous colleges and the ‘Backs’ as well as the contrasting city
centre with its modern day shops. This afternoon we continue to the cathedral city
of Ely, with its lovely waterside, antique shops and cafes and the Palace Green
area, is well worth a visit. DAY 4 Norfolk is our destination today as we head east
to Kings Lynn, a historic medieval port situated on the Great Ouse, near The Wash.
We have time for a short break before continuing to delightful Hunstanton, a
popular small resort overlooking the Wash. The beaches are P

Hunstanton offers lots of opportunity for exploration and lunch. This afternoon we
visit Sandringham House and Grounds, the Norfolk retreat

leisurely breakfast we leave Harrogate and head for historic York. We have the day
to explore this fascinating city with lots of attractions to keep you busy, such as the
National Railway Museum, Jorvik Centre, the City Walls, the little streets and
alleyways in the centre and not forgetting the magnificent Minster, you may even
fancy tea & cakes at the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms. Late afternoon we return to the
hotel. DAY 4 The morning is free for you to explore the town of Harrogate. Enjoy
a lovely stroll through beautiful Valley Gardens, explore the delightful Victorian
Arcades for some retail therapy. Have a relaxing lunch in one of the many
restaurants, cafes and bars. We have an early evening dinner before tonight’s
outing to Ripon. First we have a behind the scenes guided tour of the beautiful and
awesome Ripon Cathedral and this is followed in the market P
square by one of the
oldest English traditions, kept alive for hundreds of years without a break. At 9.00
p.m. the Ripon Hornblower sets the night watch fromPeach corner
of the obelisk in

we travel to the popular seaside resort of
Tramore with its impressive sandy beach.
The massive iron statue of an 8th Century
sailor at Great Newton Head serves as a
timely reminder of the power of the sea as
we follow the road along the Copper Coast.
We travel through the picturesque villages
of Bunmahon and Stradbally to Dungarvan, a thriving market town for lunch. This
afternoon we visit Old Midleton Distillery, part of the vast Irish Distillers Group
famous for Jameson, Bushmills, Tullamore Dew and the local brew “Paddys”.
DAY 3 Day at leisure in Waterford, the oldest city in Ireland. For a real insight into
the city and its history we join the short walking tour through its cobbled streets,
shops and cafes, after which there’s plenty of time to visit the new Waterford
Crystal, conveniently situated in the heart of town. DAY 4 We leave Waterford
this morning for the journey up to Co. Wicklow. En-route we spend time in the
historic town of Enniscorthy. After lunch we head on to Avoca, more readily
recognised as ‘Ballykissangel’. Witness how Avoca hand weavers take the raw wool
from the sheep of the surrounding hills and valleys through a process of carding,
spinning, dyeing and weaving to transform it into clothing and blankets for barter
and sale. We continue this afternoon to Bray and the Esplanade Hotel.
DAY 5 A day in Dublin begins with a visit to the Butlers Chocolate Experience.
Founded in Georgian Dublin, experience how the cocoa bean is transformed into
chocolate treats before being packed in beautiful gift boxes to be shipped all over
the world. This afternoon there is free time in Dublin with an opportunity to visit the
home of another monumental Irish success story. The Guinness
P Storehouse is a 7storey visitor experience dedicated to Ireland’s world-famous stout, and has itself
become Ireland’s most popular visitor attraction withPover a million
visitors a year.

DAY 6 We take the morning ferry crossing from Dublin to Holyhead during which

morning excursion to Ryde. DAY 4 We depart the hotel mid morning and travel to

church and a winding main street lined with tearooms. We then make our way to
Ventnor Botanical Gardens, which is unrivalled for its collections of subtropical
plants grown unprotected out of doors. Please note that some of the gardens are
located on steep inclines and will not be suitable for people with walking
difficulties. However there is a wheelchair route, which can be followed for the less
able. (There is a £1 admission charge for the greenhouse which is not included and
can be paid at the entrance to the exhibition). DAY 5 Sadly we depart and make
our way to Yarmouth where we catch the ferry to Lymington returning us to the

we catch the West Somerset Railway and enjoy a 20 mile ride to Bishops Lydeard
where we rejoin the coach for Bristol. DAY 3 After breakfast we cross to Bristol
Temple Meads station to connect with the ‘Torbay Express’. The train is due in
Kingswear at lunchtime and we then have four hours free time to explore. Your
ticket includes the foot passenger ferry across the harbour to Dartmouth – enjoy a
trawl around Dartmouth’s antique shops, art galleries, boutiques and bistros,

guided tour. After our visit we journey to the historic city of Lincoln for free time
before returning to the hotel. DAY 3 Today we visit RAF Digby and its Lima Sector
Operations room, the only one of its type left in the country and now fully restored
from original artefacts found on site. There are several rooms telling the story of
Digby’s roll in the Battle of Britain and beyond. A tour guide brings the visit to life.
Later you may like to attend the Down Memory Lane cinema at the hotel. Relive

Gardener’s World. Afterwards, we head to Rutland Water for a 45 minute cruise on
the ‘Rutland Belle’. The ‘Rutland Belle’ also makes an additional 30 minute stop off
on the south shore to explore Normanton Church.
(Please note that this visit may not be suitable for anyone with severely restricted
mobility as it entails a walk across grass and steps within the church – any such
passengers are welcome to relax on board whilst the boat waits alongside the
church). Early afternoon we begin our journey home, where upon arrival back in the

pretty villages of Clare and Cavendish, with their pastel coloured cottages, and
make our way to Lavenham, one of our best preserved medieval villages with its
many colourful and half timbered houses. Here we visit the 16th century timber
framed Guildhall, which dominates the market place and tells the village story over

Our first visit today takes us to the National Trust owned Biddulph Grange Garden.
This is one of Britain’s most unusual gardens with upside down trees, a formal
Italian Garden, an Egyptian Court and tranquil Chinese garden. A delightful
experience, well worth a visit. From here we head for the market town of Leek –
Queen of the Staffordshire Moorlands. There are lots of places to obtain lunch – a
must see is Getliffes Yard, a vibrant community of shops and cafes. Original
cobblestones create a relaxed, back-in-time atmosphere. This afternoon we have a
visit to the Churnet Valley Railway at Cheddleton for a delightful 10 mile journey
through Staffordshire’s hidden valley. DAY 4 This morning we drive to the former
spa town of Buxton with its wealth of shops and lovely public gardens. We stay
awhile here before moving on for a lunchtime stop in pretty Bakewell, home of the
famous ‘tart’ or pudding to give it its proper name. In the afternoon we travel to
Matlock Bath, delightfully situated in the Derwent Gorge from where you can take
the cable car up to The Heights of Abraham and enjoy the superb views.
DAY 5 After breakfast we leave and begin our journey home where upon arrival
back in the local area, your taxi will be waiting to return you to your home.

DAY 3 We make our way to the outskirts of the market town of Malton to Eden
Camp, a multi-award winning museum housed within the grounds of an original
World War Two prisoner of war camp. It was developed into a museum by local
businessman Stan Johnson to stand as a tribute to all people, civilian and military,
who endured hardship throughout World War Two. People of all ages visit from
around the world to see the story of World War II re-created using sights, sounds,
smells and moving figures to create a unique atmosphere that makes it feel like
you travelled back in time to wartime Britain. DAY 4 Today we travel to Alnwick
Castle, spending the morning exploring one of the largest inhabited castles in
England with its lavish state rooms, magnificent library, dining room and stunning
grounds. We spend the afternoon at Alnwick Garden, with magnificent architecture
and the Grand Cascade, an iconic structure and the largest water feature of its kind

traditional lakeland cottages, narrow streets, speciality shops, welcoming tea rooms
and inns. This afternoon we make our way to the southern tip of Lake Windermere
and join the ‘steamer’ for a relaxing sailing to Bowness. DAY 4 This morning we
head again over Kirkstone Pass, with the lonely inn at the summit, and descend
into Patterdale. From here we head west to Keswick, set amid spectacular lake and
mountain scenery. Here you can explore the town and obtain lunch and whilst here
we enjoy a boat trip around Derwentwater. Late afternoon we make our way back
past Lake Thirlmere and Grasmere to Bowness. DAY 5 After breakfast we make

DAY 1 After collection from your home we commence our journey northward to

through the lowlands of Scotland to Stirling. With its iconic castle sitting on a
craggy outcrop, the town sits at the gateway to the Highlands across the River
Forth. We enjoy some free time in this historic city before completing the journey to
Perth for overnight accommodation at the Salutation Hotel. DAY 3 Today’s
journey winds its way through the magnificent Grampian Mountains through to
Inverness, the capital of the Highlands standing at the head of the Moray Firth. The
road then leads on to Ullapool, its distinctive layout a legacy of the town’s origins as
it was designed and built in 1788 by the British Fisheries Society. We take the
afternoon ferry from here to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis for a 2-night stay
(Dinner will be late this evening). DAY 4 Lewis is the largest of the Hebridean
islands and steeped in history and culture, ranging back thousands of years. The
Western Isles traditions remain very strong, and in particular their religious beliefs;
Sundays remain a very special day, and many people observe strict compliance to
the respected values of the ‘Free Church’. In the summer months local people can
still be seen cutting the peat, and in winter the distinctive dry smell of the peat fires
drifts in the wind. Take a tour of the island including the Blackhouse Village, set in
an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This unique group of restored thatched
cottages allows the visitors to step back in time to experience the life of crofting in
the last century. Not to be missed are the Callanish Standing Stones, the most
significant and important megalithic complexes in Europe. DAY 5 Following
breakfast, we travel south through Harris, home to the world-famous tweed which
bears its name, to Tarbert. Catch the late morning ferry to Uig on the Isle of Skye,

Cullins to Dunvegan Castle, stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800
years. It the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland with priceless family
heirlooms around the Castle’s stately halls. Stroll through formal and woodland
gardens before driving through more island scenery. From Fairy Bridge, the subject
of much myth and legend, continue through to the capital of the island Portree.
With its picturesque harbour, the brightly-painted houses cluster around a large
sheltered bay. DAY 7 The journey south passes the romantic Eilean Donan Castle
through the winding valley of Glenshiel to Fort William. The journey through the
Highlands takes in the spectacular peaks of Glen Coe, madeP

DAY 1 After collection from your home, we travel to the north west of England for
our overnight stay.
DAY 2 We continue north across the border into Scotland, and over to Cairnryan
Port in time for the mid-afternoon crossing to Belfast. Here we check in to the
Stormont Hotel, opposite the famous parliament building, for a 2 night stay.
DAY 3 We begin the day with a guided tour of the city sights on an Irish coach,
taking in the Botanical Gardens, Queen’s University, the Waterfront Hall and the
famous leaning Albert Clock. In the afternoon we visit the new Titanic Belfast Visitor
Centre. This iconic attraction opened in April 2012 in the heart of the city beside
the slipways where RMS Titanic was built, and where visitors can re-live the entire
Titanic story.
DAY 4 Today we enjoy one of the finest marine drives in Europe, the Antrim Coast
Road, which includes spectacular scenery. We follow the coast road, built in the
1800's to provide employment for famine-stricken workers through to Carnlough,
continuing via Cushendall and the National Trust village of Cushendun to the mighty
Giants Causeway. After lunch we make our way to Donegal, for a 2 night stay at the
Mill Park Hotel.
DAY 5 After a leisurely breakfast we drive up via Ballybofey and Letterkenny and
into the magnificent scenery of the Glenveagh National Park. A shuttle bus takes
us over to Glenveagh Castle, from where we enjoy a guided tour. We continue via
Dunlewy to the Atlantic Coast that borders the county on 3 sides. Kincasslagh is a
small Gaeltacht village in the heart of the Rosses and the birthplace of Daniel
O’Donnell. At Dungloe, a brand new Daniel O’Donnell Visitor Centre has opened,
charting the history and success of this foremost Irish performer; one for both
adoring fans and curious tourists alike!
DAY 6 Leaving Donegal today, we head south through the beautiful county of
Sligo, the scenery here captured the heart of the Irish poet WB Yeats. We continue
into Galway with time to explore this ‘City of Tribes’ before spending the next 2
nights in Galway at the Menlo Park Hotel.
DAY 7 After breakfast we enjoy a full day excursion around the Connemara
National Park with our guide. This afternoon we travel back to Galway via Maam
Cross and Oughterard with fine views of Lough Corrib along the way.

morning we continue our journey southwards through the rugged Dordogne
countryside to La Roque Gageau, close to the famous town of Sarlat La Caneda.
One of the most popular locations in the whole of France, the Dordogne is a world
away from big city life, dotted with picturesque medieval villages that have changed
little through the centuries, On arrival at our destination, we check in at the hotel,
which will be followed by a refreshing welcome drink and dinner served by our
host. DAY 3 Today’s excursion covers the impressive Dordogne Valley close to
the hotel. Our first stop is the majestic Chateau Castelnaud, originally built by the
De Montford family and owned by the Kings of England for several centuries. The
castles houses an impressive medieval museum and enjoys stunning views over
the valley. (Please note that passengers with mobility difficulties may find

distance across the river to the peaceful
Jardins de Marqueyssac, with more than

around as it is largely car free and enjoys level access. On Wednesday mornings
there is a traditional market. DAY 6 After breakfast another full day of
excursions. This time travelling along the beautiful banks of the Dordogne to the
medieval city of Bergerac. There is free time to explore this lovely city stretching
down to the banks of the Dordogne, complete with its statue of Cyrano de Bergerac
and the Tobacco Museum. The winding alleys and pretty squares have plenty of
cafes in which to enjoy a pleasant lunch. In the afternoon travel the short distance
outside Bergerac to visit the delightful wine Chateau of Monbazillac, complete with
an opportunity to sample wine from one of the finest wine regions in the world.

our way along the western side of Lake Garda down to the southern shore, stopping
at Sirmione. Famous for its Roman Villa, medieval centre and moated castle,
Sirmione is one of the most picturesque towns on the lake. Returning past Pescheira
Del Garda along the eastern side we head for Agraria del Garda for a guided tour of
a modern wine cellar and olive mill. This will be followed by tasting of extra virgin
olive oil and both red and white wine, you will also be treated to refreshments
accompied by local produce such as sliced salamis and cheeses. DAY 7 A day at

DAY 1 A taxi pick up from your home this morning before we make our way to
Folkestone for the Eurotunnel to Calais. From here we continue on to the Ibis hotel
in Laon for our overnight stop. DAY 2 Continuing our journey south we travel
through France arriving at the Classic Hotel in Leysin to a welcome glass of wine
prior to this evening’s dinner.
DAY 3 We head for the city of
Geneva this morning, the main
city on the lake. The cobbled old
town, high on its central hill is very
