buffalo - ithaca - rochester - syracuse ’15 DIRECTORY FREE Volume Twenty-one, Issue One January-February 2015 upstate gardeners’ journal - 1140 Ridge Crest Drive - Victor, new york 14564 SARA’S GARDEN Road trip? Stop here. Do you know how much we love this particular issue of the UGJ? This is the crème de la crème of issues, the icing on the cake issue, the “it’s spring & let’s do the garden center road trip” the “I don’t have enough plants, I need more flowers, I have to garden and drive hundreds of miles & spend hundreds of dollars, immediate gratification is mine issue!” If we didn’t own a garden center we would be hauling this magazine across several counties with a mother lode of plants and a smile that would last for weeks! So if you are one of those people, here are some reasons to put us on your itinerary for this spring’s trip. 1 We had a great fall Stone Wall Follies session in 2014 and there are lots of changes to see; new stone arches and walls… check out our FB to entice you! 2 We have added a new retail greenhouse space. This means great indoor shopping options for our notoriously unpredictable spring weather plus new ways for us to display all the plants! 3 Our new partner for our garden worthy trees is called Bower & Branch. Yes, we only offer trees that have great value to offer you and we have found the perfect grower to bring it all together. Look up the Bower and Branch page on our website and if you see the tree of your dreams it can be at Sara’s this spring! (Look for the Green Friday offer for a special savings opportunity.) 4 Speaking of websites, ours is finally done and this should make everyone’s gardening life easier. This partnership goes the other way; this is with our hard goods folks. So any tool, pond pump, fertilizer, anything u need to keep your garden growing and make it all easier is available on line at our site and can be shipped right to your door! We may look like a little fish in the big garden center pond but now we are swimming with the big guys. :) 5 One our new website you can order your bulk mulch deliveries, order gift certificates and search our plant database with over 12000 plants! Gardening in full sun with sandy soil? Create a plant list…clay, shade, bog, it’s all there and you can save a list for shopping! As a reminder, we will be composting & tilling our community garden as soon as weather permits and the 2015 Follies will take place this autumn. Both of these have limits on participation so please contact us early if you are interested. For details & reservations for the Stone Wall Follies, Community Garden or any other garden-related topic, call 585-637-4745 and ask for Kathy or email [email protected]. 35+ year Mission! It is our greatest desire to provide our customers with top quality, well-grown plant material at a fair and honest price. We will strive to provide an unmatched selection of old favorites and underused, hard-to-find items, along with the newest varieties on the market. We will eagerly share our horticultural knowledge gained from years of education and experience. Lastly, we offer all this in a spirit of fun and lightheartedness.
