ORDER BY THE H I G H COMMISSIONER.
I N VIRTUE of the powers conferred on the High Commissioner by
section 5(3) of the Immigration Ordinance, 1941, His Excellency is
pleased to order and it is hereby ordered as follows: —
No. 5 of 1941.
The maximum aggregate number of immigration certificates in all
categories that may be granted during the period from the 15th
March, 1946, to the 14th A p r i l , 1946, shall be
1,600.
No immigration certificate issued during this period shall be valid
for the admission of more than one person.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
The quota prescribed above provides for the issue of immigration certificates for
Palestine during the month beginning on the 15th of March and ending on the 14th
of A p r i l , 1946.
Of the number prescribed 100 are for Arab and other immigrants and 1,500 for
Jewish immigrants.

by the Municipal Corporation of Tel Aviv, absolutely.

Copies of the said• plan are deposited at the offices of the Deputy
District Commissioner, Tel Aviv, and at the offices of the Municipal
Engineer, Municipal, Corporation, Tel Aviv, and may be inspected
there during the usual office hours by any person interested.
A n y person claiming to have any right or interest in the said land
is required within six weeks from the date of the.posting of this notice
to send to the Municipal Corporation of Tel Aviv a statement of his
right and interest and of the evidence thereof, and of any claim made .

The Municipal Corporation of Tel Aviv is willing to treat for the
acquisition of such part of the said land as is not owned by the Muni

Defence Regulations, 1939, I , H A R R Y L O U I S W O L F S O N , Controller of
Salvage, being a Competent Authority for the purposes of the said
regulation, do hereby order as follows: —

1. This Order may be cited as the Defence (Control of Scrap Metal)
(Amendment) Order, 1946, and shall be read as one wilth the Defence
(Control of Scrap Metal) Order, 1942, hereinafter referred to as "the
principal Order".

2. Paragraph 2 of the principal Order shall be amended by the de
letion of the definition of "scrap metal" appearing therein and the
substitution therefor of the following two definitions: —
" "Scheduled scrap metal" means any scrap metal, or any ashes, slags
or drosses of any scrap metal, specified in the Fifth Schedule;
"Scrap metal" means any waste metal, discarded metal or metal
alloy, or any article wholly or mainly produced or derived from
metal which, through damage, wear, tear, obsolescence or any other
cause whatsoever, has ,become unsuitable, or is unlikely to be used,
for the purpose for which such article was manufactured and in
tended to be used, or for any purpose for which such article has
actually been used, but does not include recovered metal."
