vacation MOMENTS
like no other
Family vacations filled with activities AND
enchanting experiences, designed to engage
your family across all ages and bring the
destination to life.
Exciting Discoveries
Feel the history of the
American Civil War on
the Gettysburg battlefield
or gaze at the stars and
planets at the Sacred
Valley observatory in Peru.
Our Family Experiences
vacations get you excited
about learning – no matter
what age you are.
Exhilarating
Experiences
Fun and adventure are a big
part of each trip. You might
find yourself flying along zip
lines high above the Costa
Rican jungle or whistling
through the Grand Canyon
on a Wild West steam train.
Kids’ Cooking
Classes
There’s no better way to
learn about local foods than
getting hands-on in the
kitchen. In Rome, an expert
chef will show your children
what it takes to create
perfect Italian pizza.

Our Sustainable Approach
#TrafalgarCARES
#TrafalgarCares supports and gives back to the
communities we visit, working with local businesses,
collaborating alongside charitable organizations and
ensuring we take our groups where they can make
a difference.
TreadRight - The Heritage Initiative
A new program that works to preserve the cultural diversity
of the people and places you’ll visit. For example in Perugia,
Italy, you’ll discover how your participation helps preserve
ancient hand-weaving traditions. Discover this Insider
Experience on our Italy Bellissimo vacation.

Our charitable giving
THE TREADRIGHT FOUNDATION
Set up as a joint initiative by The
Travel Corporation’s family of
brands, TreadRight is a not-for-profit
organization dedicated to supporting the
communities we visit, helping preserve
their vibrancy and traditions for future
generations. As a member of The Travel
Corporation, we’re also proud to be an
active founder and supporter of The
TreadRight Foundation.
Supporting local communities
We believe in safeguarding the beauty,
cultures and traditions of the destination
we visit, helping preserve them for
future generations.
Gavin Tollman, Trafalgar CEO
We work hand in hand with the communities we visit by
ensuring we support local businesses. This is good for them
and in turn good for our guests, who get to enjoy these
communities through our Insider Experiences and contribute
to sustainable future travel. From discovering ancient
traditions with a Quecha weaver to visiting environmental
programs, these unique moments enrich your vacation and
support local infrastructure, giving back to the people who
share their culture with you.
Some examples include:
Ban Mae Kampong village, Thailand
You’ll meet the villagers and enjoy lunch with the village
chief, who’ll reveal how your visit helps support ecotourism
and traditional crafts, and generates income for the villagers.
Discover this Insider Experience on our Treasures of
Thailand and Treasures of Thailand with Cambodia trips.
We believe we should work as a force for good within the
travel industry and in the way we impact the world. As a
family-owned company, we’re proud of our teams and the
work they do to support worthy causes.
Some examples of our charitable giving include:
Whether they’re taking part in Movember to aid cancer
research, picking up litter in Yellowstone National Park, or
working with Free The Children to build schools in Kenya
and Ecuador, our global teams work tirelessly to support
charitable initiatives.
TreadRight supports global charitable projects, such as
the industry-wide rebuilding effort following the Nepal
earthquake in April 2015. Led by their partner, Tourism
Cares, TreadRight donated $20,000 USD to aid tourism
rejuvenation in Nepal, and helped rebuild a local school
through additional donations.
Sustainability at our core
To conserve our planet’s rich diversity we ensure everything
we do is sustainable; from how we print our brochures right
the way through to how we travel.
Some examples of this sustainability include:
We promote the benefits of coach travel - proven to reduce
congestion and create less pollution per passenger mile than
any other form of transport. We’ve also introduced recycling
schemes in all our global offices and use recycled paper for
our brochures and on-board magazine.

A Day 6 Yellowstone – Cody – Sheridan
This morning, say farewell to majestic
Yellowstone. Head east to the town of Cody,
named for its most famous native son,
Buffalo Bill. Get a glimpse into the fascinating
history of the American West at the Buffalo
Bill Center of the West where your Local
Specialist will reveal the culture of the
cowboy, the role of the firearm in the early
days and the culture and art of the Plains
Indians. Then it’s on to Sheridan to check into
your hotel. (FB) Hotel: Holiday Inn Sheridan
Day 7 Sheridan – Keystone – Rapid City
(2 Nights)
After a hearty breakfast, your journey
continues on to South Dakota. Visit Crazy
Horse Memorial where you’ll gaze in awe
at the towering tribute to legendary Lakota
leader Crazy Horse being carved into
the mountain and discover the culture of
his people. The evening is yours to explore in
Keystone, once a gold mining boomtown. Or
perhaps take an optional trip to the moving
Mount Rushmore Lighting Ceremony, a
chance to see one of America’s most
famous landmarks from a different
perspective. (FB) Hotel: Alex Johnson
Day 8 Rapid City and Black Hills
Excursion
The first stop this morning is Bear Country
USA, a wildlife park featuring the world’s
largest private viewing habitat of American
black bear. Enjoy a drive through this
spectacular and unique park and then
walk through the Wildlife Center, where
younger and smaller animals frolic in
their outdoor exhibits. Next, head to the
famous Black Hills of South Dakota. Then
it’s on to view one of America’s most
iconic landmarks: the presidents sculpted
at Mount Rushmore. You have seen the
pictures of Mount Rushmore, but they pale
in comparison to seeing this majestic site
in person. It took 400 artisans 14 years
to carve the sculptures of George
Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore
Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln into the
mountain. This evening, join your fellow

town of Williams—right on old Route 66—and
gateway to the Grand Canyon. This evening,
join your fellow cowboys and cowgirls for

A Day 3 Williams – Grand Canyon
Railway – Grand Canyon
This morning, watch out for the infamous
Cataract Creek Gang, as lowly a group of
varmints that ever rode the range. Then,
climb aboard the historic Grand Canyon
Railway; pass through majestic Ponderosa
Pines, the high desert and the Kaibab
National Forest while hearing tall tales and
folklore about the area. Keep your eyes
open for wildlife—it’s not uncommon to spot
elk, mule deer and pronghorn antelope
sauntering through this wild and woolly
region. Nothing can prepare you for the
Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Natural
Wonders of the World, more than 1.7 billion
years in the making. With a Local Specialist,
learn how the Grand Canyon was formed
and examine rock samples from the colorful
sedimentary layers formed as the sea
washed in again and again. Join your Travel
Director for an unforgettable walk along the
rim. (FB) Hotel: National Park Lodges
Day 4 Grand Canyon – Monument Valley –
Lake Powell (2 Nights)
Ferde Grofe was so stunned by the
spectacular beauty of the sunrise over
the Grand Canyon that he composed his
Grand Canyon Suite in 1931. But all you
have to do is watch—and maybe whistle—in
amazement as the skies glow and brighten
with the coming day. Drive along Desert
View Drive, featuring jaw-dropping views of
the Grand Canyon, before entering Navajo
Country. Here you can poke around the
historic Cameron Trading Post and hunt
for a great piece of Southwest Native
American art. See why Monument Valley is
a favorite location for movie directors. As
you’re bouncing along the valley floor in an
open-air vehicle, you can just imagine John
Wayne leading the U.S. Cavalry on a ride
along the magnificent mesas. Wrap up your
exciting day at a lakeside resort tucked
into the red rock at amazing Lake Powell.

Castle. Discover the ancient Meiji Shrine,
a Shinto shrine dedicated to Emperor
Meiji and Empress Shoken. Continue to

an ancient Japanese form of percussion
using large drums and a dynamic playing
style. Enjoy the thrilling combination of
rhythm, movement and energy. Continue
to the Sensoji Temple; one of Tokyo’s
most colorful and popular temples. It has
been rebuilt countless times since it was
founded in 628, making it Tokyo’s oldest
temple site. Visit Nakamise, a shopping
street stretching the 200 meters from the
outer gate to the temple’s interior gate.
After some free time for lunch explore
the Edo-Tokyo Museum. This fascinating
museum displays artifacts and architecture
that tell a tale of Tokyo’s history and culture
during the Edo period. Return to the hotel

Day 4 Tokyo - Mt. Fuji – Hakone – Tokyo
After breakfast, depart on a full day of
sightseeing, beginning at the Five Lakes
District. The name comes from the five lakes
formed by previous eruptions of Mt. Fuji.
At 2,300 meters above sea level, the 5th

Five Lakes area below. Almost close enough
to grab the summit of Mt. Fuji; it’s a great
spot for sightseeing (weather permitting).
After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the
Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, a naturelover’s paradise, blessed by its superb
scenery and an abundance of natural hot
springs. Find yourself surrounded by some
of the most famous sights that Japan has to
offer. Travel by cable car to visit Owakudani,
the ‘Great Boiling Valley’. Enter the volcanic
zone with its hot springs, steam vents and
bubbling pools. Here you can try black eggs,
cooked in the naturally hot water, which are
said to prolong your life by seven years.
Travel back to Tokyo and transfer to your

A Day 6 Kyoto Sightseeing
Start the day with a visit to some of the
UNESCO designated historic monuments
of ancient Kyoto. First, explore Nijo Castle.
Despite being built as a residence and
not for defense purposes, special creaky
floorboards were installed to warn of
anyone approaching and protect the
shogun from enemies. Located halfway
up Otowa Mountain, visit Kiyomizu Temple,
a historic temple that was established in
778. Its beautiful hillside location offers
spectacular views of the city and valley
below. The main hall has a large veranda,
supported by tall pillars that jut out
over the hillside, and was constructed
without a single nail used in the entire
structure. Later, enjoy a special Be My
Guest lunch at a preserved Machiya
townhouse, where children can try
their hand at the traditional art form of

Trafalgar Tours West Inc is the ‘Sales Company’;

Your agreement is with Trafalgar and a contract is formed when you make
a reservation with us that we accept.
The invalidity of any provisions herein shall not affect the validity of any
other provisions. The agreement shall be construed as though the invalid
provision was not contained herein and was replaced with an enforceable
provision as similar as possible to the original provision.
Disclaimer Travel is personal and each individual’s goals and experiences
may differ. Trafalgar will not be bound by, or liable for, any description,
photograph, representation or warranty made by or provided by any
independent third party sales representative, Travel Agent, or other person
or entity relating to any vacation offered by Trafalgar.
Departure Date The departure date is the date indicated on the
Trafalgar confirmation.
Security Security is a major concern to all of us and the situation globally
is constantly changing. Events around the world, coupled with the “Travel
Advisories” put out by various governments, may at times necessitate
changes to the accommodations and itinerary or even trip cancellation.
You must accept these risks involved in travel to any country that may
experience security difficulties and accept responsibility for your own
travel decisions.
What’s included in the guided vacation price
Inter-city Travel By private motorcoach, trains, cruises and ferries
(see itineraries).
Air Transportation Not included unless otherwise outlined in each
itinerary page price panel. Please be advised that due to the Transportation
Security Administration’s (TSA) Secure Flight rules, airlines must collect
required information from guests. For more information regarding TSA’s
Secure Flight rules, please visit www.tsa.gov.
Guided Vacation By air-conditioned luxury motorcoaches. On London
sightseeing, and some Regional vacations, including Japan motorcoaches
without toilet facilities are used. If due to circumstances beyond our control
25%
motorcoaches are used otherwise than as advertised, a refund of $10 per
person will be made.
Toilets may be affected by higher altitude or extreme weather conditions
such as freezing temperatures and for the comfort of those on board the
motorcoach the toilets may have to be closed. In these circumstances
additional rest breaks will be incorporated into the itinerary.
Hotel Accommodations Prices are per person, based on two persons
sharing a double room with private bath or shower. Triple rooms may be
available on selected vacations in limited numbers. Triple rooms will often
feature one foldaway bed plus one double bed. Three adults may find these
rooms small and suitcase space slightly restricted. They are generally more
suitable for two adults and one child. On Family Experiences, triple and
quad rooms are strictly reserved for families traveling with young children
and are not available for three or four adults sharing.
Every effort has been made to reserve two-bed rooms; however, on some
occasions, rooms with one double bed may be the only choice available.
These rooms will be allocated to single travelers and couples first; other
rooms may feature a single bed and rollaway bed, murphy bed or sleeper
sofa. Special room requests (adjacent, connecting or lower-floor rooms,
as examples) must be made at time of booking. Special room requests
are not guaranteed and are based on availability at time of check-in. Many
hotels are 100% smoke-free, including all guest rooms, restaurants,
lounges, meeting rooms and public spaces. Smoking in a non-smoking
room may result in a fine.
Accommodations outside of the USA may not be in compliance with the
American with Disabilities Act and may not have wheelchair accessibility.
Substitute hotels may be used sometimes. We try to use hotels of similar
standard. Hotel Frequent Traveler program points are not earned with
hotels on Trafalgar vacations.
Note hotel room sizes, standards, facilities and services provided may vary
from country to country and region to region and are often local in style.
Cruises Per person prices are based on two persons sharing a cabin with
two berths, private shower and toilet. A limited number of single cabins
are available at an extra cost
Free WiFi Internet Service Complimentary WiFi service is available in
many Trafalgar hotel guestrooms and/or the public areas of most hotels.
In most countries complimentary WiFi is also provided on-board the
motorcoaches. The WiFi on the motorcoaches uses the cellular phone
network and as a result the connection will be slower than standard
broadband and at times may not be available. Audio and Video streaming
is not available using motorcoach WiFi. In some countries this service
will not be available. Please note that it is not available on train trips, or
when the main Trafalgar motorcoach is not being used, such as on transfer
motorcoaches and other local services. For further information on which
countries WiFi is offered in as well as daily data allowances please refer to
the Trafalgar website www.trafalgar.com/wifi.
Travel Director Guided vacations are conducted in English by a
professional Travel Director. In the unlikely event that there are fifteen
guests or less traveling on a departure, Trafalgar reserves the right to operate
this departure on an individual basis with private transfers and individual
arrangements. Please refer to the individual guided vacation. Itinerary
extensions are operated on a locally hosted basis using regular Englishspeaking Local Host services.
Meals Meals are included as detailed on itineraries.
Sightseeing Experiences, entrance fees and an English-speaking Local
Specialist (when required) are included as detailed in the itinerary pages.
Transfers Between airports, hotels, railway stations and piers are included
as indicated on each guided vacation itinerary. There will be no refund for
missed or unused airport transfers. If you did not purchase your flights
from Trafalgar, you will need to provide your arrival and departure flight
information to Trafalgar at the time of booking. It is your responsibility to
update Trafalgar with any changes to your flight schedule to ensure that
you receive your transfers. Failure to do so may result in missing these
services and no refund shall be due for missed arrival transfers resulting
from missing or outdated flight information.
Porterage Baggage handling of one suitcase per person, at each guided
vacation hotel and porter service at airports for intra-air inclusive guided
vacations, is included in the guided vacation price. Due to limited
motorcoach capacity, a single bag is allowed with dimensions not
exceeding 30”x18”x10” (76x46x25cm) and weight not exceeding
50 lbs (23kg). Airlines may impose stricter weight and size limits for
luggage and may also charge fees for checked baggage, including the
first checked bag. Please check with your airline(s) directly for their most
current baggage regulations and related fees. Trafalgar is not responsible
for additional fees imposed by air carriers regarding baggage.
A charge of US$6/CA$6 or local currency equivalent per traveling day
will be collected by the Travel Director if a second piece of baggage is
permitted to be carried, or if suitcase exceeds weight or size limits. This is
not assurance that luggage in excess of limits on size, weight and number
of pieces will be permitted on the motorcoach.
Carry-on/hand luggage is restricted to one piece per person, not
exceeding 12”x11”x6” (30x28x14 cm) to fit under your motorcoach
seat or in the small overhead compartment. Carry-on/hand luggage
handling is the responsibility of each guest and must be taken on and
off the motorcoach by you each day of the guided vacation. Carry-ons
with telescopic handles and wheels will not fit in the overhead
compartments or under seats and, therefore, cannot be accepted
as carry-on luggage.

disabilities. Please note the following:
- Guests must advise Trafalgar, in advance, as early as possible, of any

nature of the services provided.

individual from participating in a guided vacation or an activity if the
individual’s participation poses a direct threat to the health or safety of
others that cannot be eliminated by a reasonable modification of policies,
practices or procedures or by the provision of auxiliary aids and services.
This decision, made solely by Trafalgar, to exclude an individual will be
based on an individualized assessment based on reasonable judgment
that relies on current medical evidence or on the best available objective
evidence to determine the nature, duration and severity of the risk,
the probability that potential injury will occur and whether reasonable
modifications of policies, practices or procedures will mitigate the risk.
No refunds will be given if the decision is made to exclude a guest.
- Trafalgar does not provide personal devices (such as wheelchairs,
hearing aids or prescription eye glasses) or services of a personal nature
(such as eating, toileting or dressing). A traveler who requires services

attention must be sought at a local facility, if available, at the guest’s
expense. Trafalgar is not responsible or liable for losses or costs incurred
due to unavailability of medical services, or medical services obtained
while on vacation, or for the quality of the care or services received.
Medical care in other countries is not always comparable to care that you
may receive in your local area. You are encouraged to purchase medical
insurance that will cover you while on vacation. Your regular health
insurance benefits may not apply abroad.
- In purchasing your vacation, you attest that you are physically fit for it. If
you have concerns please request additional details about your journey
from your Travel Agent or Trafalgar.

parties are independent entities which Trafalgar does not control.
Accommodations on international guided vacations may differ from
those in the United States. Trafalgar cannot guarantee disability access or
accommodations for guests traveling on international guided vacations.
Many Optional Experiences are operated by independent third party
suppliers, not Trafalgar. These are not part of the vacation package
provided by us. Your contract will be with the operator of the experience.
We are not responsible for providing of the experience, or anything that

activities and/or can be physically demanding. You must make your
own decisions about experiences and participate only in activities that
suit your physical ability: we suggest that you speak with your medical
provider if you have questions about your abilities. We recommend you
check whether any insurance you have also includes your participation in
adventure activities you may undertake.
Trafalgar may, in its sole discretion, decline booking any guest or remove

reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain
peak periods multiple departures may operate, sometimes in reverse
order; hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages. On
guided vacations which include cruises, the ship may be changed for
operational reasons. Departures in early and late season are potentially
operated in cool weather conditions. As a result, itinerary variations may
occur. Certain activities may not be precisely as described or may not
be available due to seasonality or weather conditions. We will try to
notify you or your Travel Agent of changes. If your enjoyment may be
diminished by such limitations, please check with us or your Travel Agent
before making a reservation.
Trafalgar’s ‘Be My Guest’ experiences are unique and take place in singular
locations. In the unlikely event that our local hosts are unable to welcome
Trafalgar guests, Trafalgar will attempt to find an alternate experience or a
highlight meal will be provided in place of the ‘Be My Guest’ experience.
Holidays & Changes During local or national holidays, certain facilities
such as museums, sightseeing trips and shopping may be limited or
unavailable. In such instances itinerary changes are made by Trafalgar
seeking to reduce inconvenience to guests. Such changes are deemed
not to be a major change to the itinerary, and no compensation will be
payable to guests. Holidays, closing days and other circumstances may
necessitate a change of the day of the week for scheduled highlight
dinners, sightseeing or other activities. If, you feel your enjoyment might be
diminished by any of these circumstances please check with the respective
national tourist office before selecting a specific departure date.
Extended stays If you arranged with us to remain at a destination before

PAST GUEST SAVINGS
Often families traveling with us include single people, from aunts to
grandparents, who would rather have the privacy of their own room
than share with the rest of their family group.
Our low single supplements give you the freedom of your own space,
while still letting you enjoy the fun of sharing time with your family
during the day.
We’re always competitive, making sure you get the value-for-money
you expect from us – and you can always see the price you’ll pay on
our trip itinerary pages.
We value our frequent travelers. All past Trafalgar
and TTC sister brand guests are therefore eligible for
a 5% discount on the land portion of their next trip.
Conditions apply. Visit www.thetravelcorporation.com
for details on our sister Companies.
IMPORTANT: Solo travel is not accepted on guided Family Experiences vacations
unless traveling as part of a family group.

Travelers per room in Europe and a limit of three Young Travelers per

TRIPLE AND QUAD
ROOM SHARING
REDUCTION
SAVE
WHEN
3 OR 4
TRAVEL
Travel with three or four people sharing one room
and each of you will receive a reduction off the LAND-only portion
of your vacation price. Each itinerary lists the Triple and Quad Room
Reduction per person. Refer to the vacation of your choice.
IMPORTANT: These reductions apply only to itineraries featuring Triple and Quad room
reductions in the price panel. Quad occupancy is strictly reserved for families traveling
with young children and is not available to four adults sharing. In North, Central and
South America triple and quad room reductions are based on three or four people sharing
one room with existing bedding arrangements, usually two beds, and does not include
the cost of any additional bed or ‘roll-away’. In Europe, Triple and Quad room reduction
can only be combined with Young Traveler Discount when children are under 16 years
old. Triple rooms are not suitable for three adults. They are generally better suited for two
adults and one child as they often feature one foldaway bed plus one double bed.
