Spring / Summer 2016
Over the last six months, we can verify that our 25 Hours “experiment” has transformed our community’s
understanding and practice of Shabbat. How do we know this? The proof is in every one of you – from
the 20-something member taking a Saturday hike with us, to the 30-year-old spinning at ShulCycle, to the
Religious School family trying out FNLO for the first time, to the empty nesters opening their home for
Shabbat at Home, or to the Shabbat Evening and Morning Minyan regulars who continue to show up –
you are showing up! And, if you’re not showing up physically, we know from your comments and readership
that you’re learning and taking in our message.
For many, that would be enough, and to some extent it is. But, being who we are, we won’t stop there.
We want to touch every member of this congregation with a new perspective on Shabbat – with experiences
that are meaningful to you and that inspire each and every one of you to “show up.”
We believe 25 Hours Shabbat has the power to transform you. Commit to trying something new over
the next three months and let us know how it does!
