COME ONE! COME ALL! COME CHECK OUT THE ST. MARY MANNA PROGRAM! We hope this update finds all of our wonderful St. Mary’s families doing well as we complete the first full month of school! The Manna program at St. Mary School is designed to help both families and the school while doing what many of us LOVE: SHOPPING!! By purchasing cards either on-line through the Manna site or from Mrs. Dexter in the school office, families can earn a percentage back from EVERY card bought, and the accumulated (throughout the year) earned money can be applied to your final May tuition payment or paid out to you in the form of a check. Additionally, EVERY card purchased also helps the school earn money. For example, a $20 Fannie May card allows for a total cash back percentage of 24%. That means for EVERY $20 Fannie May card sold, the individual family earns 12% back, and the school gets that same amount! With such a GREAT program available to our families, we hope many of you are currently using it or will consider doing so in the future. Here are some updates regarding the MANY awesome vendors carried in the overstock box in the office: $25 and $100 Mariano’s cards are now offered in the box. These cards offer a 4% total (meaning 2% back to BOTH the purchasing family AND the school) percent back. We are excited to offer these cards in addition to the other grocery stores we currently carry (Berkots, Jewel, Dominicks, etc.). We carry cards for several restaurants in the area including Jenny’s Steakhouse/191South, EggCetera Café, and Meatheads Burgers! These restaurants all offer delicious food and generous cash back percentages! Keep in mind that the Jenny’s cards ($25 cards with a 5% family/5% school percentage) can be used at 191 South…why not plan a fun night out with delicious appetizers and more? In addition to these great establishments, many other restaurant cards are offered in the box. Don’t forget that you can use Kohl’s cards ($100 and $25 cards with a 2% family/2% school percentage) to pay your credit card bill! Numerous other vendors are carried in the box such as Alsip Home and Nursery, Shell, Speedway, Dunkin Donuts, The Sweet Company, Starbucks, and SO MANY MORE. Visit Mrs. Dexter in the school office today to check out the Overstock Box! In addition to the many vendors carried in the box, there are virtually HUNDREDS more offered on-line at the Manna site! Many thanks to the numerous families that currently use our AWESOME Manna program! For those of you who would like to get started earning cash back for your family and the school, please contact Jen Wajda for login and password information for the Manna site. As always, we are more than happy to answer any questions regarding this wonderful, worthwhile program. In July of 2004 Mokena lost a vibrant member of our community. Richard Purcell was a teacher at St. Mary’s Elementary School and coached volleyball at Providence High School. On Saturday, November 23, 2013 we will hold the tenth annual volleyball tournament in his honor. The past nine tournaments have provided a healthy start to a scholarship fund in Rich’s name for St. Mary’s students, due in large part to donations from local businesses and individuals. This year will be the last tournament, and our goal is to leave the scholarship fund in great shape, to enable the fund to continue to support the students of St. Mary’s for years to come. In order to make this event yet another huge success we are calling on the community and the people who knew Rich to support the day. We are looking for cash sponsors and prize donations. We will have a program available on the day of the tournament highlighting all sponsors and donors. We will take donations up until the day of the tournament, but if you want to be included in the program, please fill out the form below and return by November 1st (or October 19th if t-shirt sponsorship) to: The Richard Purcell Memorial Volleyball Tournament c/o St. Mary’s School, Carolyn Hinsdale 11409 West 195th Street Mokena, Illinois 60448 Please call Anne (Purcell) Trovato (708-269-4780) with any questions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Name, address, phone, and email address: (1) Sponsorship ___ Event sponsor: Please specify one below: (Note your name/business name will also be listed in the program) ____ $200 - T-Shirt Sponsor.
