What is Galvanic Ion ?
What is Galvanic Ion?
The name stems from founder of direct current, Galvanic, who was a doctor working at the University of Bologna. He made
a discovery about the effects of electricity on living organisms in 1786. He discovered the relationship between the muscle
contraction and electricity when he put a frog next to a crane in a diagonal direction. Based on the finding, he wrote a
research paper titled “Commentary on the Effect of Electricity on Muscular Motion”. The effects of electricity have been
considered to be used for a movement therapy since his discovery.
Direct Current and Beauty Therapy
60-80v galvanic direct current has a chemical reaction of anions and cations when passing the skin containing 60% or
more water. Chemical changes occur when galvanic direct current passes through the body’s tissue and cell sap. This
skincare method that involves penetrating water-soluble skincare products to the skin is associated with “iontophoresis”.
Galvanic Ion of Beauty Treatment Machine
This ion is produced by a massage machine using galvanic direct current, a low-frequency direct current. It helps reduce
redness and pigmentation caused by acne. This ion works to ionize a water-soluble skincare product, tightening pores by
using anions and cations.
What is Ultrasonic wave ?
Ultrasound waves refer to a sound wave that humans cannot hear. To be more specific, ultrasound waves have
a frequency of above 20,000Hz, inaudible to human ear. Even some animals, they use ultrasound as a means
of survival. Bats’ ultrasound was discovered in 1840 by American and Dutch sound experts. A result of
analyzing ultrasound waves with a parabolic reflector showed that bats emit ultrasonic waves ranging from
20,000 – 200,000Hz.
Dolphins send out ultrasound waves with a frequency from 2,000 to 200,000Hz. Rats are proven to be able to
detect ultrasound waves in the range from 15,000 to 40,000Hz. In the 1930s, researchers from Japan and
Germany conducted researches actively in the fields of medical treatment and engineering technology. A fish
finder is a well-known ultrasound application and it was used as a submarine detector during the World War Ⅱ.
Moreover, ultrasound waves are reflected differently depending on materials, thus ultrasound detection devices
rely on material characteristics. In recent times, technology has developed to see the movement of an embryo.
Compared to X-ray, it is not harmful for the human body and it is used for detecting blood flow and volume.
Also, hospitals and optical stores are equipped with ultrasonic cleaning machines. When using ultrasonic by
putting medical devices in solution, the effects of rapid vibration and discharge called cavitation function to
clean up tiny holes. A dental scaler used in dental clinics also utilize an immediate effect of ultrasound waves
while the waves are also used for treating chronic diseases including muscular pain, arthralgia, backache and
neuralgia. Furthermore, same as bats, ultrasonic waves are used in the rear of the vehicle as space waves. It
transmits ultrasonic waves and then receives those ultrasonic waves reflected from an object. Moreover, it
