Not Too Soon to Plan for
Fall/Winter Season
Uniform Changeover
While autumn
rapidly approaches and
the last few days of
summer lingers on, is it
too early to be concern
ab o u t yo ur wi n ter
uniform. A wise answer
would be, ‘absolutely
not!’ If you are the type
of officer who strives to
be ‘ahead of their game’
you might consider
updating your cold-season
uniform requirements
now, and avoid the frosty
weather
rush b y
purchasing whatever you
need before the October
1st deadline
requiring
long-sleeve shirts, clip-on
ties.
As the days
become cooler you will
need a
windbreaker
jacket and or sweater with
regulation patches. When
weather turns colder, a
uniformed winter jacket
and hat with earflaps will
be the order of the day. Its
coming—so get ready.

The 2011 Chicago DUB Car Show
Inspecting and Protecting—From highly ‘Customized Rides’ to ‘Funny Cars’, ‘Low-riders’ and all kinds of ‘soupedup’ vehicles in between, Allpoints Security & Detective blanketed tens of thousands of square-feet of McCormick Places’
Lakeside Center to make certain that thousands of visitors to 2011 DUB Car Show had an enjoyable and safe experience.
On Saturday, July 16th, it was Chi-Town’s turn to experience DUB culture, as we visited the McCormick Place
for the ninth stop of our 2011 DUB Show Tour. Car crews came out strong this year and really showed us who runs
car culture in The Windy City! So far, it seems like this stop featured some of the sickest Low-Riders on the tour!
Big props to all the clubs and exhibitors who represented, and congrats to Auto Art for taking home “Best Booth”
and “Retail Shop Car. ”The “DUB Magazine Project” booth was packed all day with people waiting in line to cop
one of the new shirts, while UFC fans got their fix, as fighter Miguel Torres signed autographs in the UFC booth
while Toyo Tires featured Anthony Pettis in their display. Ford’s display showcased what happens when we
customize new rides like the new Fiesta, along with their Focus, Explorer, Mustang and Taurus.
Sony’s PS3 gaming stations were a huge hit, along with The Green Hornet’s “Black Beauty,” while 2K
Sports’ area had long lines with gamers eager to play demos of NBA 2K11. Concept Motorsports showed off their
wide selection of custom wheels and some of the coolest T-Rex’s around. The Monster Energy Zone had it
all—including beautiful Monster Girls, great entertainment thanks to B-Boy and MC battles and delicious samples of
their beverage offerings!
The host for the day’s festivities was none other than Big Black from MTV’s “Fantasy Factory,” as he
helped hype the crowd for our stellar concert lineup! Chi-Town’s Finest Breakers showed off their latest dance
moves, while T.R.U.B., Rebel Gang, REJ3CTZ, Kia Shine, DJ Quick, Travie McCoy, Waka Flocka provided the
tunes!

Duties & Responsibilities
of a Security Officer
‘Distinctly South Shore,’ is
what the banner just outside the
door of the of Allpoints Security &
Detective, Inc. exclaims—just
above our agency’s name
printed below the slogan heralding the distinct qualities of this
community along the lake. It is a
joint initiative of the Special
Service Area #42 (SSA), the South
Shore Chamber, Inc. in conjunction with the office of 5th Ward
Alderman Leslie Hairston.
The executive management of
Allpoints Security applauded the
project in a letter to Alderman
Hairston, “The recently installed
banners make a statement that our
business community is still yet
viable; and that we are poised to
move forward in realizing our full
potential as a vibrant and
prosperous business district. We
especially appreciate seeing our
agency’s name emblazon on a
banner just outside our front
door.”
Allpoints Security recognizes
that such projects bring the South
Shore community closer to its
former glory one step at a time and
stands ready to assist in reviving
this ’diamond-in-the rough
community .
Allpoints Security’s Dispatch
Officer fields dozen of calls
daily from individuals about
becoming a security officer and
what it takes to become one.
A security officer is typically
a formally and privately
employed individual who is paid
to protect people, property, and
assets. The following provides a
simple summary of their primary
duties.
Visibility at Property Entrances
Some security officers remain in
position at the entrance of a
building, commonly sitting
behind a desk. They basically
make sure that no unauthorized
personnel can enter the building
premises.
Patrol
Patrolling is a huge aspect of a
security officer’s responsibilities.
Oftentimes, these patrolling activities are logged through a tour
patrol system utilizing mechanical clock system or probe device.
Reporting & Intervention
Security Officers usually have
access to a radio or phone in
order to report any suspicious
activity or crime in progress and
to remain very alert.

Just Because...In a random act of kindness, Security Officer Teatroy Webster
presented the office staff with a well-received and very unexpected gift of
beautifully arranged fruit. His gesture added a special spark for an otherwise
routine workday. Such gifts are never required or expected of employees which
makes this present so delightful. Much thanks and appreciation kind colleague...
Staying on the Ready...To maintain a constant state of preparedness in
addressing the evolving development of our clients security needs require
frequent policy updates and training. Such was the case during in-service
training conducted in mid-August for Security Officers assigned to various CHA
sites. Dozens of S/Os assembled for another in series of regularly scheduled
sessions conducted by our Director of Operations, Brian Taylor. He reviewed
pertinent policies, procedures, protocols and

Expanding our agency’s client base is what our business is all about; it is the fuel that
keeps our economic engine running. Following through on this metaphor, we can liken our
business fuel to a high-performance ‘blended’ motor fuel where various elements are
combined to achieve optimum results.
When we diversify our client base, it makes us a more rounded as a security agency and
better able address a broad range of security concerns of our clients. Similar standards are
applied to the medical profession where volume and diversity becomes yardstick in
measuring a physician’s or a medical facility’s effectiveness and capability. The cover story
of this edition gives clear indication that Allpoints Security & Detective has achieved that
standard and gives assurance to potential new clients that their security needs will be well
served when our agency is contracted to address their particular security needs.
