BLANKET
We will create
a beautiful blanket
knit by people
near and far
that will be on
display in our store
and online.
put together by fiber artists and the yarnery
The Promise Blanket is inspired by our very own Socks in The Cities
group and Knitalong: Celebrating the Tradition of Knitting Together
by Larissa Brown and John Martin Brown.
All of the proceeds will be donated to the Women's Advocates, Inc.
which provides shelter and resources for women and their children
who are victims of domestic violence.
An auction will
be held on
Saturday, August
16, 2008. It will be
open to knitters
and non-knitters.
If you would like additional information
about The Promise Blanket or the Women's
Advocate visit yarnery.com. Or you may email
questions to [email protected]
How can you help? We would appreciate any of the following:
• A 7 1/2 square made of 13-15 grams superwash sock yarn (pattern can be
found in store or in Knitalong: Celebrating the Tradition of Knitting Together)
• Donate any of your left over fingering weight yarn to The Yarnery.
• Mention our project on your website, blog, store, class, etc.
• Join us at The Yarnery Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 6:30-8:00pm for an “oldfashioned” sewing bee to seam the blanket together.
Thank you for your support and good will.
