SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS!
Celebrity Guest Driver:
We’re pleased to welcome decorated Iraq war veteran, author and TV celebrity from
ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Staff Sergeant Shilo Harris. Shilo’s Humvee
hit an IED while on patrol in Iraq in February of 2007. In that blast he lost his ears, part of
his nose, some fingers and over a third of the skin on his body. He also lost three of his
best friends. What followed was an agonizing road to recovery, which began with nearly
two months in a medically induced coma. During that time he experienced a version of hell
so terrifying, the memories still haunt him today. Harris shares his inspiring story in memoir,
Steel Will: My Journey Through Hell to Become the Man I was Meant to Be, which will be
available for sale & autographed at the track. Be sure to visit www.ShiloHarris.com. Thank
you to our own Joel Brown of Northwest Safety, who served with Shilo and made the
introduction. Yep, we’ll be putting “Shilo Dog” out on track with us!
Salute to Our Troops:
Lucky Dog is honored to recognize all branches of the military this Father’s Day
weekend! Working with local military and veteran organizations, we have invited area
soldiers and their families to come join us for a fun weekend of racing and to meet Shilo.

interesting, we have teams who are representing the various military branches:

#12 12th Man Racing
#145 Pyrotect Ghostriders

Racing, is also the Driving Chairman of the Portland BMW Club and has offered
instruction & coaching (all levels of skill) to the dawg community. This is both a
great opportunity to learn the track (hopefully in dry weather), to shake down your
car and as a novice or experienced driver, to hone your racecraft. Register at
www.motorsportreg.com/events/portland-bmw-club-june-16th-hpde-thursday-intlraceway-187307. Questions; email Greg at [email protected].

REMINDER THAT THIS TRACK HAS AN INTERIOR PADDOCK AREA THAT IS
NOT ACCESIBLE BY VEHICLE FROM THE OUTSIDE DURING THE RACE
(i.e., while the track is hot). It is advisable that all teams park a service car
outside the paddock near the footbridge, for all fuel runs*, off-track services,
parts & supply needs. *IMPORTANT: If you are carrying fuel jugs across the
bridge, you must be accompanied by a team mate with a fire extinguisher.
All people (drivers, guests, etc.) on property must sign the track liability form.
While sunset is at 8:39pm, we still strongly recommend headlights in inclement
weather.
Pit lane stalls are available on a first-come, first-serve basis – not assigned. As
for paddock spots; please be considerate of a team’s paddock spot adjacent to
their pit lanes. REMEMBER THAT THE PADDOCK IS ONE DIRECTION;
COUNTER CLOCKWISE.
We’d love to have you. Come out and earn $100 per day in race entry credits.
Volunteer at [email protected].
FREE, no pit pass or gate fee
Will be available from the Lucky Dog website at www.RaceLucky.com or via a
mobile device with the Race Monitor and Race Hero apps.
Are allowed but must be on leash at all times.
Fuel will NOT be available at the track, so plan ahead.
Not allowed during the race/hot track.
NO SMOKING ON PIT LANE…EVER. Or near fuel storage in the paddock.
PIR has started to charge for overnight camping (i.e, anything you are sleeping
in). Purchase a weekend paddock camping permit for $50 during Friday’s Tech &
Registration from Lucky Dog. Paddock camping is first-come, first-serve. Selfcontained RV camping in the paddock is allowed on Friday (after track releases
paddock to us after SCCA’s event at approximately 9:00pm; no early entries) and
Saturday nights but there are no hook-ups. Tent camping is also okay. All teams
must vacate the race facility by Sunday evening at 7:00pm. Keep in mind that
the track gate closes each night at 11:00pm, and there are no in & out
privileges.
Race Equipment Vendor:There will not be an onsite equipment/gear vendor for this event but take advantage of
advance ordering from series sponsor www.Pyrotect.com and enjoy a 15% Lucky Dog
Discount using the code Luckdog15; and 20% off SA2015 helmets using code
Luckdoghelmet20.
Radio Equipment Vendor:
While there will not be an onsite vendor, we highly recommend series sponsor
Shawn at www.SampsonRacing.com or 866.396.7231. Order in advance. They
offer a 15% Lucky Dog discount too!
Food Concessions:
The raceway food concessions will be open during the event for breakfast & lunch.
BBQs:
BBQs are allowed in the paddock area provided they are supervised at all times, a
fire extinguisher is within 20’ of the open flame and are located at least 30’ from
race cars & fuel sources.
Pit Vehicles:
Pit vehicles are allowed in the paddock (but not anywhere else on track or off
pavement), and must obey the 10 mph paddock speed limit. No one under 16
allowed on any ATV, golf cart, motorized bike, scooter or skateboards.
Track Walk:
People may walk or ride a bicycle on the track after hours with permission from
track management. Nothing motorized; no scooters, golf cars, race cars, passenger
vehicles or skateboards. And because this is a City park, helmet laws are enforced.
Drones:
At no time during the entire weekend (hot track or not), drones of any sort are not
allowed to be flown at the track.
Official Event Hotel:
Given that the Day’s Inn is still closed for remodeling (thru June 1st), we have a new
official event hotel for this race offering a great discount rate of $74.95. You must
call Jami Seale directly to receive this special Lucky Dog rate at (503) 345-0300

Tel. 800.523.1193 / (503) 345-0300 www.portlanderinn.com

you to call the hotel directly and keep checking back. We’ve also stayed at the
