Community college provides two years of college
education leading to an Associate’s degree.
Community college can also be counted towards
a four-year degree program (2+2) leading to a
Bachelor’s degree. It’s a great way for students to save
money on the first 2 years, adjust to the American
culture and English language, and then complete the
remaining 2 years on a university campus.
During the past decade, enrollment at community
colleges across the USA has exploded. Currently 45%
of American students attend community colleges.

Lower tuition cost
The majority of Educatius community colleges have
inexpensive total package price (tuition, room, board,
insurance, placement fee, application fee) below
$20,000 per academic year.
Lower level of English OK
– no TOEFL/IELTS or SAT required
All Educatius community college partners waive
the admission requirement altogether for the Test
of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and
International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Experienced teachers and small class sizes
At community colleges, almost all professors have
advanced degrees and years of teaching experience.
International student support services and activities
Educatius community colleges offer extra support for
international students including: tutoring services,
airport pick up, and intensive English language
programs.
Work and study opportunity
International students can often find on campus
employment for up to 20 hours a week to make some
extra money.
Work opportunity: OPT (Optional Professional
Training)
International students who complete their Associate
Degree at one of American community colleges, can
extend their stay fo 12-18 months and work full time
in the USA, earning a regular salary and valuable
experience. Community College Career offices and
Educatius assist students in finding jobs. Students can
continue their studies for the next two years after OPT,
get a Bachelor’s degree, and qualify for another OPT
(another 12-18 months).
Attractive locations often in major cities
Because community colleges are often smaller than
large state colleges, they are able to establish their
campuses near America’s biggest cities. Educatius
preferred community college partners have campuses
close to Chicago, Boston, San Francisco and are spread
all over sunny California – allowing international
students to live in some of the most exciting places
in the USA!
Flexible payments
International Students can pay their year tuition in
several installments. If after the first semester they
decide to discontinue or transfer to another college,
Educatius will refund the entire cost of the second
semester.

How can I use an American community
college to help me get into a top USA
University?
It can be challenging for international students to be
accepted straight into the top American universities
due to high costs and exam requirements. For
example, one academic year at UCLA (University of
California Los Angeles) including student dorm costs
more than $60,000. UCLA also requires SAT/ACT exam
scores, which require high level of English.
But there’s another way to enter UCLA:
2+2 community college program
Students who enter community college in California
can transfer to UCLA after two years. An academic
year at community college with accommodation
costs about $20,000 which is 1/3 the price of UCLA.
Students can significantly lower the total cost of
Skagit Valley student successfuly transferred to the #1 university in
the world – Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) .
earning a degree by taking the first two years of a
university program at community college.
TAG – Transfer Admission Guarantee
Most community colleges in the USA have
agreements with 4-year universities allowing qualified
international students to transfer their community
college course credits toward a Bachelor degree.
Educatius community college partners have Transfer
Admission Guarantee agreements with top USA
universities, including: University of Washington,
University of Chicago, University of California,
California State University, Purdue University and
many others.

Application Requirements for Community
Colleges:
• College full application form
• Transcripts from high school translated to English
• Affidavit of Support
• Bank statement showing ability to fund one
academic year in selected college
• Photocopy of passport
Some colleges may ask for additional documents like
letters of recommendation, etc. Educatius provides
the list of all required documents for each college
and guarantees smooth and easy application process.
Educatius pays students’ application fees directly to
the school.
Host Families
For schools that do not offer dormitory accommodation or for students who prefer a family environment,
Educatius will arrange carefully screened, welcoming
host family accommodation. Two meals a day are
usually included into the home stay package. At
Educatius International we look for families who are
practically located for the student to get to school and
who have the space needed for hosting a student.
We look for families who want to share their way of
life and culture at the same time as they get to learn
more about the student and his/her home country.
Our families come from all walks of life and may be
2 parents and children, a single parent with children,
2 parents without children or a single parents with
no children. No matter what, they will provide a
welcoming and friendly family environment!
Student apartments
Some students prefer to rent their own apartments
and live with 2-3 other roommates. Educatius works
together with the school to provide housing search
assistance. We help students find apartments or
connect them with other students who already have
an apartment and are looking for a roommate.

Doctor Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, Mexico –
Guest speaker at NAFSA conference 2013
When Dr. Quinones arrived
in USA he did not speak
English. He learned English
at Community College:
“I have no doubt that I
wouldn’t be where I am
today if I did not have
the support and help
from community collegethere is where I found my
mentors, at Delta College
in Stockton, California. It is
a beginning for a lot of people like me”.
He then continued his education at University of
California, Berkeley and received his graduate degree
from Harvard Medical School.

Isabella Morawska, Poland – Investment Banker NYC
“I came to USA as a baby sitter with hopes to save some
money and enroll in a good American college. I quickly
realized that I would not be able to afford any of the
Ivy schools I was dreaming about. Fortunately I found
a different way. I enter the community college in Long

I hadn’t found affordable
community college that
