Located in the colorful deserts of
Southwest Wyoming, Rock Springs
is the fourth largest city in Wyoming.
The area is rich in history and outdoor
attractions.
Magnificent high desert scenery, golf,
hiking, fishing, hunting, water recreation
on Flaming Gorge and the Green River,
and off-road adventures in nearby sand
dunes provide great opportunities for
outdoor escapes.
Explore the Wild Horse Loop on White
Mountain and view pronghorn herds
across the Green River Basin, rare
desert elk in the Red Desert, or water
fowl in the Seedskadee National Wildlife
Refuge.
The Rock Springs area

shopping, and outdoor

camping, fishing, mountainbiking, backpacking, trap,

On-campus living at Western
is designed to provide you
with comfortable, affordable
housing near campus
services. Western’s on-campus
housing is among the best in
the country.
Living on campus has
numerous benefits. Besides
living close to classes, you
have computer access,
private voicemail, a security
system, and friendly Resident
Assistants who are trained to
help, if needed.
Living options range from suite
clusters, semi-private rooms,
and one- and two-bedroom
apartments. Non-apartment
style rooms are furnished
and have a MicroFridge
(microwave-refrigerator
combination). Apartments are
fully furnished.
Western’s housing is
technology friendly. A
computer lab in Rocky
Mountain Hall is open 20
hours each day, and all
rooms are provided with
T-3 internet connections or
wireless internet capabilities.
Mitchell’s & T-Rex Grill
Quality and availability are
two key aspects of campus
dining services. On-campus
dining options include
Mitchell’s cafeteria and the
T-Rex Grill. Mitchell’s offers
premium dining possibilities at
affordable prices. Meal plan
options of 10 or 18 meals per
week are available. You can
also grab a quick sandwich or
soda at the T-Rex Grill.

Western has taken
advantage of the natural
history from the local
area and has one of the
most extensive dinosaur
collections in the Rocky
Mountain region.
Dinosaurs are displayed
throughout the campus and
are complemented by the
Natural History Museum and
Weidner Wildlife Collection.
At Western, learning is not
limited to the classroom.
In fact, academic
opportunities seem to crop
up everywhere–on stage, in
laboratories and in athletic
competition.
Students get involved
in “Hands-On” learning
activities during the
freshman and sophomore
years that help them decide
on a major. Education majors
work in local schools during
their first year. Social science
majors can serve as interns;
exercise science majors get
the opportunity to work as
personal trainers; students
interested in archaeology
and geology can participate
in field studies in Wyoming,
Colorado and around the
world.

to our “Welcome” page. Please click on “Create Account” and complete the short account process. Then click on the
“Events” tab, and select a Campus Visit time that best fits your schedule. Please register for that campus visit time
slot and tells us who you would like to meet with during your visit.
