Window Dressing How-Tos
How to “treat” the windows is usually the final piece of the design project.
However, it is such an important part because window treatments not only
complete the look of the room but also can serve to enhance the function of
the room.

Our last Design Seminar, held at Wells, featured Teresa Tweel of Curtain
Concepts who shared with our attendees many creative ways to dress their
windows in order to enhance their room and its furnishings. She also shared
the newest treatment options available that help solve common challenges
that windows create with regard to light, privacy, and function.

Creating a truly functional and relaxing room for outdoor living requires careful
planning. Just as when designing an indoor space, you'll need to consider
architectural style, color harmony, traffic flow, space requirements and comfort.

The bedroom should be a tranquil and renewing space, after all it’s where we
start and end each day. Most 5 star hotels excel in dressing the rooms’ bed that
give a sense of luxury as well as a comfortable nights sleep. However, creating
that “I’m on vacation feeling” can be done in your own bedroom. It starts with
the bed and linens that are luxurious and inviting. It ends with YOU. It is your
personal preferences that dictate how you want your bed to be dressed, from
colors to textures and patterns, all the way down to piles of pillows on the bed
to a few, for a minimalistic look.

IN HER OWN WORDS
Our furniture-buying experience with Wells Home Furnishings was exceptional from
start to finish. We moved into a new home in August, and we really wanted to update
our living room furniture. We went to several stores in the Charleston area and felt
completely uninspired until we came to Wells. We were really excited to hear that for
only $70, a design consultant would come to our home and give us ideas. It was even
better that when we purchased the furniture, the $70 was credited back to us. That
feature was a huge selling point for us. Who wouldn’t want a professional to come to
his or her home and make it lovely?
Jennifer came to our new home and spent some time asking us questions and
taking lots of pictures. We met a week later, and the proposal and design she and
Dave presented blew us away. We felt like they listened to everything we said and
incorporated our style into each detail. We never thought we would, but we ordered
everything they suggested because we loved it all so much.
When the furniture was delivered Jennifer and Dave came to our home to ensure
everything was set up as it should be. They spent hours measuring and perfecting
everything. Our living room now looks like something from a magazine. We are both
extremely satisfied. We were both impressed with the entire team’s professionalism —
from the delivery team in button-down shirts who were extremely careful and kind to
Jennifer and Dave blowing us away with design, to Mr. Wells calling and thanking us for
our business. Wells doe business the right way. I really don’t think we’ll go anywhere
else in the future. Thanks so much to the entire team for transforming our living room
from something very average to a breathtaking, comfortable retreat.

A limestone rock used on tabletops and floor tile. Light cream tones
with an uneven texture that is similar to marble but more porous.
Can have veins of other natural colors like rust, gold or black. The
pores are filled with grout creating a smooth but unpolished texture.

using it.” This quote by Frank Lloyd Wright embodies the passion within the field of
design as well the significance of the designer-client relationship. The foundation
of interior design lies within this relationship. As an interior designer, my passion
is to create unique, remarkable spaces for my clients to enjoy. It is through careful
collaboration and communication that I strive to take my client’s visions and craft them
into a reality.
At Well’s Home Furnishings, the Design Team provides this relational experience.
For the last four years, I have been a part of this creative process and can say that my
colleagues and I are dedicated to designing the perfect spaces for our clients. Wells
has truly provided me with not only a platform in which to express my creativity but
an opportunity to meet and design for our amazing clients. I feel like a room is more
than just a space to arrange furniture but an extension of the people who live there.
