Before you start planning your wedding, it is important to set your wedding budget. This avoids any unwanted surprises. Decide what is most important to you and your fiance and plan your budget accordingly. There aren’t absolute rules on who pays for what. In today’s world, it is not unusual for the bride

The big day of dreams is finally coming. This is “Your Day” so
make it Special! Discuss your plans with your fiance. Do you both
want a big or small affair. What is most important to each of you.
Include both sets of parents to know what budget you have to work
with. Timing of the wedding will make a difference with wedding
businesses. A wedding planned in the off season (January to April
and October to November) will usually be easier to schedule with
businesses and may net a discount. There may be a discount for an
afternoon or midweek wedding. Go over the Check List and make
sure that details are not forgotten. It is possible to delegate some
things to others, but make sure you follow-up in appropriate time.
Shop around for ideas and once you decide on who you want
to help with your wedding, ask about any deposits and contracts.
Don’t sign anything you do not understand. Booking early will help
assure that you will get who you want. Many wedding professionals
are willing to give advise and recommendations of other businesses
in the area.
This is a busy time, not only planning the biggest day of your
life, but also the beginning of your new life together. Plan some time
for yourself to manage the stress. Be willing to pamper yourself.
Consider going to a day Spa for a Manicure, Massage, Pedicure,
Tanning, or Hairstyle. How about Teeth Whitening for that perfect
photo. Get involved in physical activities to give your mind a rest.
Contact the Newspaper for announcement in advance. They
have a form to complete and be sure to include an engagement
photo. The Herald Journal charges $35 for the announcement and
the deadline is noon the Wednesday before Sunday publication.

anywhere in the State. Both parties must be present,
with proper documentation. The fee is $30.00 and the
license must be used within 30 days.
