that Hawkey and Morris began working together on a three hour
morning show, The Power Trip. Which has been on the air for 10
years as of Nov 25,2011. Outside of KFAN Sports Radio Hawkey is
married with two kids. He also sings in two bands, Rocket Club and
The Chris Hawkey Band. Hawkey likes riding motorcycles and going
to movies.
“MEATSAUCE” PAUL LAMBERT “Meatsauce”… a man who went from bringing
food to the guys at KFAN, to being one of the
best radio personalities on The Power Trip
morning show!
Paul Allen
Weekdays: 9am-12Noon
P.A. first hit the KFAN Radio Airwaves in the summer of 1995
as host of At The Races – A weekly horse racing show,
specifically at Canterbury Park where P.A. has held the title of
Track Announcer since ‘95. From temporary lay-off to
permanent payoff, P.A. initially was fill-in host for Jesse
Ventura while he ran for Governor. Reality set in when Jesse
was elected and P.A. was given the midday show on a
permanent basis. Paul has been the voice of the Minnesota
Vikings since 2002 and is often mentioned as one of the best
play by play announcers in the NFL
play-by-play
NFL. He also hosts Vikings
Game Plan on KARE 11.
JOE NELSON is a sports fan with a passion for the local teams. He
produces KFAN’s Paul Allen Show,
S
one off the top rated sports shows
in the country. Joe enjoys the energy that the show brings to the
airwaves.
His favorite teams to cover are the Twins and Vikings, but he has a
strong interest in college and high school sports. Joe hosts Friday
Night Scoreboard which covers high school football, and does playby-play for the Prep Bowl and State Hockey Championship games.
“The
The Common Man
Man” Dan Cole
Weekdays: 12Noon-3p
Bitten by a radio active program director in 1994, Cole became the
“Common Man,” able to leap tall radio towers in a single bound. The
seven or eight time City Pages award winner employs a radio style all
his own, because, quite frankly, no one else would want it. The selfproclaimed radio dinosaur will make you laugh and cry as he spins
yarns
from his earlyy childhood,, his Haight-Ashbury
y
g
y days,
y , to his
current status as husband, father and teen heartthrob. Sports, sports,
sports with an esoteric approach. You gotta hear it to believe it. The
Official Unofficial Ambassador of Golf in Minnesota (self-given title) is
also the host of Tee-To-Green in the summer.
Brandon, (Tenna-B as he’s known at The Fan,) has been on the
Common Man Program for 5 years. He is very knowledgeable when it
comes to hockey, whether it is pro, college or high school, he knows it
all! He is the head coach at Coon Rapids High School. He also
hosts, “Beyond the Pond” during the hockey season.
According to Brandon, “My biggest passion is hockey. I play boot
y on a weekly
y basis. Love p
playing
y g sports.
p
Hockey,
y softball, g
golf,
hockey
disc golf, football, yard games. Poker. Anything competitive!” PS: he
no longer wears glasses as he got lasik!

Bumper-to-Bumper
Dan Barreiro
Weekdays: 3p-6:30
Oh yes, Dan Barreiro will talk sports weekdays 3-6:30. He, along with
fast-rising radio sidekick Justin Gaard, will definitely address the top 5
sports talkers of the day, each evening at 5. And in what might be the
understatement

t off the

d
d he’ll
h ’ll even offer

opinion or two. But, what he might not do is pound the same 2 sports
points over and over and over till his head explodes, and the listeners’
eyes glaze over. Instead, he might just talk immigration, or Lady
Gaga, or Frank Sinatra, or kids playing 65 hours of organized sports
a week
week. Every once in a while
while, he might even articulate your rage
especially while your stuck in traffic or yelling at the weather terrorist
on your flat screen TV.
Justin Gaard is Barreiro’s
Barreiro s sidekick, co
co-host
host of “Gopher
Gopher Sports Weekly
Weekly”
and is also the sideline reporter for Gopher Football. A former Iowa
Hawkeye tennis player, Justin is one of the sharpest college sports minds
on the FAN staff and is host of Gopher Football Fanline. With a
background in coaching high school basketball and tennis, “Gaardsy,”
offers multiple perspectives on the sports news of the day.
His dream job came true when a successful internship with the FAN turned
into a producer position with the top rated Paul Allen show. Now Justin
brings humor and sometimes even insight to “Bumper to Bumper” with
Dan Barreiro during the afternoon drive.
