Stary Sącz – host city
Stary Sącz is a small town in the south of Poland. This one of the oldest Polish
towns is located between two picturesque, mountain rivers: Dunajec and Poprad.
Stary Sącz has its own remarkable spirit. It is full of historical and modern attractions. The medieval market square and The Poor Clares Monastery are monuments
of Polish architecture. The town and its surroundings offer many attractions for
active tourists. You can experience positive emotions on mild trails hiking and
sightseeing bicycle routes. You can also take advantage of trails perfect for skiing
or horseback riding. On the other hand in hot summer days you have opportunity
to cool down at the “Stawy”- the open aqua park. At this watering place there is a
safe zone prepared especially for children.
For people who love relaxing in calm and harmony we recommend fishing. Our
lakes are perfect for this type of rest. After days full of attractions it is worth going
to local restaurants. Stary Sacz’ regional delicious dishes are pride of Polish cuisine. But the biggest advantage of the town is not its remarkable scenery and various sport activities, but the locals. They are friendly and outgoing people whose
hospitality and cordiality creates unique, family atmosphere - perfect conditions
for friendly youth competition.
History of our Tournament
First edition of the Tournament took place in year 2011 as
an initiative of several youth coaches, which appeared overly optimistic at the time. Initially a local cup, played between
regional teams and having hospitality as its only major advantage, gradually gained quality and recognition and become
international competition, with multiple participants from all
across Europe. In five editions to date, the Tournament hosted 78 teams from England, France, Czech Republic, Poland,
Ukraine, USA, Hungary, Italy, Latvia and Slovakia, providing adventure and being a learning experience for over 1350 kids
from different countries and cultures.

What we play for?
We believe youth tournaments are not only about winning, they are also about learning how
to live with a collective spirit and fueling every kid’s dream of becoming a professional footballer one day. Hopefully we can provide that lesson and that fuel. We want Sokolik Tournament to last long in memories of our participants and how to better fall in kid’s memory
than by a little prize-giving ceremony?
That’s why:
•
winning team and its coach (he might still be a dreamer if he’s in this job, from
our own experience he’s certainly not about money) will receive commemorative cup,
certificates, medals and a weekend stay in ‘Perła Południa’ Hotel in Rytro, at the time
of their choosing, which is funded by ‘Perła Południa’ Hotel in Rytro.
•
all teams will receive commemorative cup, medals and certificates.
•
seven best teams of the Tournament will be given prizes.
•
best player of the Tournament will receive statuette and certificate of his
accomplishment.
•
each coach (remember that he’s probably a dreamer) will receive souvenirs which
include local cuisine specialties, but we cannot be more specific about its nature
in a youth tournament brochure.
