From Monday the 7th of October until Friday the 11th of October of the year 2013 we are organising our tournament again. We as the
board of WPIST, are very proud to organise the World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament for the 31st time. And, we again succeeded. We
will receive 2500 guests from 49 different countries. A couple of months ago Harry and I were in a euphoric state when colleagues from
China applied. It felt so special, another new country and so far away from The Netherlands. It is something we as the board, often
realise. It is something we can be really proud of. This tournament is famous all over the world and you all love to join our tournament.
Welcome to the LoJack World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament. The 31th edition of the world championship indoor
soccer for police teams will take place from Monday the 7th of October until Friday the 11th of October 2013 in
Eibergen, Groenlo and Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands.This event is fully supported by the IPA Netherlands.
As every year, this year we had to make some changes concerning the organization of the matches. We won’t be playing at the Sourcy
Center in Zieuwent, instead we will play in Lichtenvoorde. They build two brand new sports centers. After some meetings with the
local business owners and the Mayor of Lichtenvoorde we feel very good about it. Lichtenvoorde is a lively town where our guest will
definitely enjoy themselves. A very enthusiastic group of people is waiting for you to make the tournament a great success.
The LoJack World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament is the only world championship indoor soccer (futsal) event
exclusively for police teams.During this tournament, your team will face some of the most competitive police football teams
from more than 50 countries around the world. It is also the largest police soccer tournament in the world organized at the
most economical cost for participants. The organisation has worked for 31 years to achieve this unique standard.
The World Police Symposium 2013 won’t take place. We are negotiating with our sponsor LoJack to organise a World Police
Symposium in the year 2014 in cooperation with the IAATI. The benefit of that will be a much lower application fee.
The IAATI foundation is focusing on car theft investigation, prevention and education worldwide.
A very interesting theme for the Worl Police Symposium 2014.
We have a lot of ideas and plans and we are already very busy to prepare ourselves for the official Police World Championship Indoor
Soccer for National teams which we will organise in 2014. De Dutch Police Sports Association and the USIP (World Police Sports
Association) has asked us to organise this tournament. A separate tournament will take place in 2014 during the week of our World
Police Indoor Soccer Tournament. Nothing will change, but we will be having two different tournaments at the same time. And, the
World Championship will have a lot of support and attention of our contestants. During the games of the national teams the stands
will be filled with our contestants who can support their own country. We hope to create a great atmosphere during those
international matches. We are really looking forward to this challenge.
There has been a change in our board during last year. Our board member, Peter van Baardewijk, has left last July.
The Mallorca Tournament in 2013 was again a great success. We can say there really is an increase of contestants compared
with our tournament in 2012. In 2013 we had 1250 colleagues from 29 different countries. We stayed in Santa Ponca, we
had some great hotels, a fantastic sports accommodation and well... the sun, the sea, the beaches and 28 degrees every
day. Do I need to say more? I almost forgot... a party every night. You can see the pictures on our website

I hope to see you all from the 7th until the 11th of October in Groenlo, Eibergen or Lichtenvoorde. I hope everyone will
have a great week and especially a great tournament. A week where friendship, sportsmanship and collegiality are the
most important things.

PREFERRED BOOKING
After the Marveld reception you should go to the information
office on the opposite side of the Marveld reception. This
information office is situated above the bowling center. Here you
will receive all information necessary for the tournament
including the tournament schedule!! After visiting this office you
may go to your bungalow, chalet or hotel unpack and settle in!

TEAMS WITHOUT PREFERRED BOOKING
On arrival please report to the reception desk of Bungalow resort Marveld, Address Elshofweg 6, Groenlo. Even if your team is
not staying on Marveld resort but in another resort or hotel you must report to the Marveld reception. Only the delegation leader or
team captain are allowed to go inside the reception during the check in procedure! Of course you may bring an interpreter if
necessary.

FAIR PLAY
The tournament will take place between six sports halls in Eibergen, Groenlo & Lichtenvoorde. Teams will play in
a 5 versus 5 format, including the goalkeeper.
There will be a:
Men’s tournament (95 teams)
Men’s 35 tournament (75 teams)
The tournament will be played over a three day period.
(Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
Women’s tournament (32 teams)
Teams who play on Tuesday will have a day off on Wednesday and the teams who play at Wednesday will
have a day off on Tuesday. Tuesday and Wednesday are divided into two parts. Some teams will be
required to play their first match in the morning, and play their last match in the afternoon. Some teams will
be required to play their first match in the afternoon and play their last match in the evening. All teams play their matches in
a short time period.
The floor of the playing area is synthetic. All matches are played according to the UEFA futsal rules and UEFA futsal regulations.
Matches are led by international, FIFA and KNVB (Dutch soccer union) referees in cooperation with the tournament’s sportive
management.

Accommodation
The Marveld Resort is a five-star bungalowresort
located in the Dutch province of Gelderland close (<3
km) to the Dutch-German border. The resort consists
of various bars, restaurants, take-away- restaurants, a
game hall, discotheques and a supermarket. Guests
can enjoy indoor as well as outdoor tennis courts, a
subtropical swimming pool, a pool suitable for
training/competition, bowling, mini golf, sauna,
horseback riding and bicycle rental. Participants can
choose luxurious 4, 5, 6, 8 or 9 person four-star
bungalows. The bungalows have a comfortable living
room, 1 or 2 bathrooms with toilet, fully equipped
kitchen and 2, 3 or 4 double bedrooms. The kitchen is
equipped with 1 or 2 refrigerators, dishwasher, gas
stove, microwave oven and a coffee machine. All
bungalows have a flat screen television equipped with
international channels and film channels as well as a
DVD and CD player. WiFi is also available.
Apart from the mentioned accommodation,
there are also five-star bungalows for up to 7
people which include not only the amenities
mentioned above, but also include the use of
a sauna and a 7 people private whirlpool.

The Achterhoek is a region in the eastern part of the Netherlands, Its name (meaning "rear-corner") is
geographically appropriate because the area lies in the Eastern-most part of Gelderland, and therefore
of the Netherlands, protruding into Germany. The Achterhoek area lies between the rivers IJssel and
Oude IJssel, and the borders with the province of Overijssel and Germany the former region of
Zutphen County. The region is predominantly rural, with lots of free space, forests and farms. The area
around the town of Winterswijk is regarded as very beautiful. A well-known beer originates from this
region: Grolsch beer was first brewed in Groenlo in 1615.
Besides the bungalows situated on the Marveld resort, it’s also possible to stay in very
good three-star hotels.These hotels are situated near Marveld.

Language
The original language of the Achterhoek is Achterhooks, a variety of Low Saxon. The language can
also differ per municipality/town, even in such a way that a person speaking the 'Grols' variant will
probably not be understood by a person from Winterswijk which is merely 10km to the east. The
number of inhabitants whose sole language is Achterhooks has greatly declined over the last
60 years, inhabitants are raised with the Dutch at school and the dialect is only spoken
(sometimes) at home. Partly due to immigration from outside the Achterhoek region and
the effects of national government, the Dutch language is having a significant impact on
the dialect. Many old words have been forgotten and replaced by their Dutch-derived
equivalents

Costume Contest
During the 2013 edition of the LoJack World Police Indoor
Soccer Tournament the WPIST organization will organize a
contest for the best team & fan presentation during the
opening ceremony. We will judge both the football team and
the accompanying fans on the stands.
With the best team presentation we mean: Presentation of the
football team during the official opening on Monday evening
October 7th when presenting themselves to the audience in
the main sports hall in Eibergen.

Dear contestants of this year’s

LoJack World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament,
As in many previous years, our bus company will be pleased to arrange
your transport for this year's Tournament, as held in the Dutch cities
Groenlo, Eibergen, Zieuwent and Lichtenvoorde from 7 to 11 October.
Parking of coaches/busses:
It’s not allowed to park coaches/ buses near the bungalows.
Please park your (midi) bus on the Parking lotfor buses. The
parking lot is on the right side of the roundabout when
entering the Marveld resort.
Transport:
Teams arriving on flights into Amsterdam/Schiphol,
Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Cologne-Bonn, Weeze, or Düsseldorf
Airports.
Transfers to and from the Airport of arrival/departure will
cost €47,50 per person. (return journey) (The group size is
not a problem but you should make journey numbers
available as soon as they are known).
The €47,50 includes daily transfer from Marveld resort to
all sports halls. Please pay the bus company
directly for all transfers !! Please read the
article concerning the transport.

For an all inn price of € 47,50 euro we can arrange your transport:
• from the airport of your arrival to your bungalows

The costs of a one-way arrangement (as mentioned above, but
without transport to the airport of your depart) are € 35 per person. The
airports covered in both arrangements are: Schiphol Amsterdam,
Eindhoven, Münster-Osnabrück, Dortmund, Düsseldorf-Weeze,
Düsseldorf and Köln/Bonn.

LoJack World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament,
During the tournament each team has a rest day on Tuesday or
Wednesday. On these days, you can join one of our city trips to
Amsterdam or Düsseldorf for a fixed price of € 25 per person.

Stichting World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament and
our employees /Staff will not accept liability for theft,
loss, injury or damage of any nature during your tour, or
resulting from a stay at any accommodation, supplied
by our organization. We are also not liable for the
breakdown or non-operation of technical equipment
and the cancellation or closing of facilities at your
accommodation. We strongly recommend you take out
insurance cover.
We ask that you respectfully uphold the laws of the
country that you are visiting and respect the rights of
other guests at all of our resorts. A copy of the
household rules is available at the reception of Marveld
or the hotel you are visiting. If your bungalow or hotel
room is left improperly, supplementary cleaning costs or
costs for damaged property will be charged for.
Tour Club
Please remember, when travelling your team is not only
representing your (police) force, but also your country.
Upholding the good name of your (police) force will
make you many new friends and contacts for the future,
along with laying the foundation for other (police)teams
to follow in your footsteps or perhaps a return visit.
Unforeseen Circumstances
We cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen
circumstances that are beyond our control, such as war,
civil unrest, terrorist action, riot, industrial action, natural
disaster, weather conditions or fire. We are not
responsible for late team changes.
From 6-10 October 2014 the N.P.S.B. (Nederlandse Politie Sport Bond)
& the organization of the World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament will be hosting
the official World Championships Indoor Soccer for National Police Teams.
The organization of the WPIST will work in close cooperation with the
U.S.I.P. (Union Sportive Internationale des Polices) to organize this prestigious
event. The 32nd edtion of the LoJack World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament
will be held in the same period. The two Championships will be organized in the
Netherlands. Eibergen, Groenlo, Lichtenvoorde and Zieuwent are the hosting
towns and cities during this event.
