DEA&DP Reference Number: 16/3/1/1/A3/9/2111/14 Notice is hereby given of a Public Participation Process in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA), as amended and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2010 & 2014. Proposal and Location: The proposed activity is located on Portions 3, 9 and 14 of Farm no. 654, Croydon. The site is located immediately west of the intersection of Kramat Road and Trunk Road No 2/1 (R102). The proposed development involves the subdivision of the consolidated site into two group housing sites (General Residential), two public road portions, four private open spaces, an electrical substation site and sewer pump station. Portion 1 of the group housing involves 35 residential erven and Portion 2 involves 53 residential erven. Two of the open spaces provided will accommodate the proposed landscaped berms, along the eastern and northern boundaries of the site. The primary open space area which measures ± 20 621m2 will accommodate the wetland area to be rehabilitated. Applicant: JV Wilnet (PTY) Ltd. Environmental Authorization is required in terms of NEMA for the following listed activities: 2010 EIA Regulations: Government Notice (GN): R544 (Listing Notice 1): 9, 11, 18, 22, 23; GN R546 (Listing Notice 3): 4. 2014 EIA Regulations: Government Notice (GN): R983 (Listing Notice 1): 9, 12, 19, 24, 28; GN R985 (Listing Notice 3): 14. The procedures for a Basic Assessment Process are being followed. Availability of the Draft Basic Assessment Report (BAR): The Draft BAR will be available for public comment from Thursday 4 June – 6 July 2015 at the Somerset West Public Library.
