Dear Readers,
The days may be getting shorter, but the heat and
humidity of summer are gone, making Fall one of the
best seasons in Chicago. Fall means harvest time in
the Midwest, and we have information on apple picking (pages 34-35), pumpkin patches (pages 20-22), fall
festivals (pages 6-15) and all sorts of Halloween fun
(pages 24-33).
We’re trying something new in this issue. Each week, we’re having a sweepstakes drawing to give away a fun new product. Look at the ads throughout
our book and click on the link each week to enter for your chance to win.
Don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter, too, so you can get the latest info
on family fun and participate in our subscriber-only giveaways.
Now that the kids are back in school and have outgrown last year’s clothes,
check out our section on local Resales (pages 36-39). These events provide
a great way to save money on clothes, baby items and even holiday toys,
books and gifts, and also help raise funds for local mom’s clubs. You can earn
money for your gently used clothing and children’s items by being a vendor
or volunteering at one of the events.
If you’ve got a little one that is ready for preschool, find the right fit from
our Schools and Childcare section (pages 52-53). You’ll also find a link to our
blog: Is Your Toddler Ready for Preschool?
When the weather turns cooler and you’re ready to head indoors, check out
our section on local Museums (pages 40-41) and upcoming Performances
(pages 68-70).
We hope we’ve given you plenty of ideas and opportunities to Go Make
Memories!

in this bubbling Rossini hit! Cinderella is dressed in rags and destined
to toil away for her nasty stepsisters
and horrible stepfather — who is
scheming to convince the Prince to
marry one of his “real” daughters.
But not so fast, ladies — mean girls
aren’t the Prince’s style, and there’s
a happily-ever-after ending for the
maid with the heart of gold in this
“triumphant, dazzling production...
that blends a riot of color with
sophisticated comedy just oozing
with mirth.” (Houston Chronicle)
