Terri Alessi - Miceli
HIA-LI President
Dear Valued Business Leaders,
As we approach May 22nd the HIA-LI 26th Annual Business
Trade Show & Conference in partnership with Suffolk
Community College – the largest one-day Business to Business
Trade Show on Long Island – we thank you for your outstanding
commitment and support of Long Island businesses. Because
of you we have stayed true to our purpose of being member
driven with a personal touch. This year’s show and conference
“The Right Connections for Real Business” on May 22nd
promises to be another exciting one.
Our Executive Breakfast keynote speaker Clay Clark, Serial
Entrepreneur will kick off the day discussing how to “Thrive to Make your Business
Epic”. CEOs will hear how to take specific action steps to grow their businesses and get
more done with their time now.
We continue the success of our Executive Luncheon this year moderated by Mitch
Pally, CEO – Long Island Builders Institute titled “Long Island Revitalization
Projects – Building Now and For the Future”. The discussion will include New
York State initiatives that impact Long Island business. LI Revitalization projects
including the Ronkonkoma Hub, Wyandanch Rising, Downtown Patchogue and
Renaissance Downtowns will also be discussed. Ken Adams, President & CEO ESD & Commissioner NYS Department of Economic Development will open
giving an overview of NYS initiatives and how they impact Long Island. Panelists
include Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri, Chairman of the Albanese Organization
Russ Albanese, TRITEC Real Estate Company Principal James L. Coughlin and
Renaissance Downtowns CEO Don Monti. This executive luncheon attracts well over
400 business leaders.
This year we are proud to partner once again with major sponsor Suffolk County IDA
to create the Suffolk IDA Innovation Pavilion. The Pavilion on the trade show floor
will focus on information, imagination and innovation for Long Island entrepreneurs.
An Executive Innovation program will be presented discussing resources for startup
companies and innovation expansion. A panel of experts discussing these initiatives
will be moderated by Anthony Manetta of Suffolk IDA. This will prove to be an
informative discussion.
Pavilions on the trade show floor in addition to the general layout will include Economic
Development, Finance, Technology, Energy/Green Industries, Healthcare, Made in
America/Manufacturing and Workforce Development where business leaders can go to
find out about related industries in one area.
Throughout the day there will be complimentary informative business sessions to help
you increase your bottom line and ensure your competitive future in this turbulent
economy.
HIA-LI has made continued progress this year on a broader scale. We are continuing
to spearhead initiatives to address problems affecting the Hauppauge Industrial Park –
infrastructure issues such as sewer capacity, the creation of overlay districts to allow for
expansion and transportation. And, while the Park is a primary concern, it is only one of
our objectives.
In addition the HIA-LI is one of the recognized voices for Long Island business and a
powerful force in economic development. Our membership encompasses Nassau and
Suffolk counties and beyond, and we advance solutions for critical issues that challenge
Long Island such as manufacturing revitalization, workforce development, healthcare
solutions, energy and infrastructure initiatives and creating an environment of business
success.

HIA-LI 26th Annual Business Trade Show & Conference
Suffolk IDA Partners again with HIA-LI for 26th Annual Business Tradeshow & Conference
tools to be aggressive and pro-active in
encouraging companies to stay.”
The IDA’s staff at the pavilion will be
ready to discuss those tools, which come
in three forms: tax incentives, bond
issues, and programs geared toward
promoting innovative businesses and
technologies.
Anthony Manetta, Suffolk County Industrial
Development Agency
By Michael Louis Weissman, Copylogic
Suffolk Industrial Development Agency
(IDA) is once again spearheading the
Innovation Pavilion at the HIA-LI’s
26th Annual Long Island Business Trade
Show & Conference. It is the Suffolk
IDA’s second time as a major sponsor of
the Trade Show. Suffolk IDA’s Anthony
Manetta, sees the pavilion as a way to
reach out to business and help them
to “stay and grow right here” on Long
Island.
“Suffolk County companies are receiving
calls from out-of-state economic
development groups on a daily basis,“
Manetta says. “We’ve developed the
Companies seeking to expand or
relocate can get help from the IDA with
exemptions and state and local waivers.
For those companies looking to raise
capital through the issuing of corporate
bonds, the agency is ready to provide
assistance by making the appropriate
introductions and coordinating with
financial institutions.
Because Manetta sees Suffolk County as
being an “innovation-based economy,” it
is the agency’s third tool – the promotion
of innovative businesses and technologies
– that Manetta believes holds the greatest
potential for building a bright economic
future for Suffolk County. It is for that
reason he chose once again innovation
as the theme for the IDA’s pavilion at the
show.

research facilities as Brookhaven
National Labs, Stony Brook University,
and Cold Spring Harbor Labs, Manetta
describes Suffolk County as a region
that attracts the very best talents in
engineering and biotechnology as well
as one that can develop and support a
workforce with the skills needed for the
economy of the future.
LNK International’s Bob Kozlowski
doesn’t need to be convinced of the
agency’s role in the county’s economic
future. “Through the efforts and
continuing cooperation of the Suffolk
County IDA,” says Kozlowski, CFO of
the Hauppauge manufacturer of overthe-counter pharmaceuticals, “LNK
International has been able to remain and
grow as a manufacturer on Long Island.”
Among Manetta’s earliest initiatives was
the IDA’s “Boost” program, which gives
special attention to the small businesses
and startups working at the cutting edges
of information and green technologies,
life and bio sciences, and alternative
energy generation.
The value provided by the Boost program
is exemplified in its ongoing efforts
toward the creation of a tech cluster
in downtown Huntington Village. One
beneficiary of the program, Work Market,
has recently moved into office space
above the street level shops. The software
startup has the potential to create up to
twenty-five jobs over the next two years.
Up to now, client companies have come
to the IDA through their interactions
either with commercial realtors or
banks, or in response to the agency’s
marketing campaign. Manetta expects his
organization’s participation in this year’s
HIA-LI Trade Show & Conference will
raise its profile further, especially for
the exhibitors and attendees who stop
by the IDA’s Innovation Pavilion.
HIA-LI President Terri Alessi-Miceli
is optimistic about the partnership and
the Innovation Pavilion. “The Suffolk
County IDA’s participation will
focus a spotlight on the information,
imagination and innovation of Long
Island entrepreneurs,” Ms. AlessiMiceli, says. “We applaud Anthony
Manetta and his team for the strategic
leadership, resources and benefits they
offer companies looking to launch or
remain on Long Island.”
As a public benefit corporation the IDA
is chartered by the State of New York
and overseen by both the Suffolk County
Executive – currently Steve Bellone
– and the Suffolk County Legislature,
which appoints the agency’s Board of
Directors. But, although accountable to
state and local governments, the IDA
derives no part of its budget from tax
revenues, relying instead upon the fees
it charges for services.

WE’RE CREATING MORE OPPORTUNITY
FOR BUSINESS IN SUFFOLK COUNTY
Let’s face it. Business is tough today. Your competition is not just around the corner, it’s around
the world. Staying competitive means controlling operating costs to grow your business profitably.
Introducing the Suffolk County IDA…..
Enhanced financial incentives. Quick turn-around. No red-tape.
The Suffolk County IDA is helping businesses expand, move to and grow
in Suffolk County with aggressive tax and other financial incentives that
help lower operating costs in the short and long term. The Suffolk County
IDA offers its financial incentives to companies of all sizes across all
industries for:
• Expansion or renovation of current operations
• The purchase of an existing location or construction of a new facility
• For owned or leased locations
• For residential multi-family rental developments
And since we appreciate that time is money when it comes to business,
the Suffolk IDA proceeds from application to approval and commitment
of funds in 30 - 60 days.
To keep our
distribution facility on
Long Island, we
needed economic help.
The Suffolk IDA put
together a financial
package that looked at
all our Long Islandbased facilities as a campus, enhancing
the benefi ts. That was key for us.’’

Friedfeld Outlines a Clear Vision for Business Success
3. Manage your cash and your costs
4. See where the “puck is going”
At the end of Assistance Lane, an internally named
hallway, sits a conference room that is the favorite of
employees and visitors alike, inside the headquarters
of ClearVision Optical (CVO) in the Hauppauge
Industrial Park. The company, founded in 1949, today
employs more than 130 people who serve optical
professionals throughout the U.S. and in 40 countries
around the globe. Yet, it still remains privately-held
and family-owned and operated. During a cold April
morning at a monthly HIA-LI CEO Roundtable, it’s
clear that the company’s enduring success and growth
is no accident – it is part of a plan and a lot of heart.
5. Embrace change and adapt/migrate
6. Get good advice
7. Continuously learn
A “Big D” event is one that can challenge a company
to its core so, “You have to learn something in each
case,” Friedfeld explained. To do that, he said that
he tries, “to run a high-performance, low stress
organization.” This means managing for fewer little
dramas and being flexible to manage for the bigger
defining moments as they occur. “We have to adapt
faster than we want,” said Friedfeld. “We have so
many opportunities to learn and if we don’t take
advantage of those opportunities, our businesses
stagnate.”
The roundtable led by CVO CEO David Friedfeld,
with his brother Peter, leads the company into its
second family generation. He dove into the many
aspects that have led to CVO’s success, including
winning two, back-to-back HIA-LI Business
Achievement Awards.
Managing the Ds
Friedfeld walked roundtable attendees through his
company’s mission, vision, history, products and
services, philanthropic causes and enviable internship
program. All of which pointed to a clear focus on
satisfaction and excellence for both employees and
customers. But, he insisted that it was his ability to
recognize, distinguish and manage “the Big Ds from
the Small Ds” that made all the difference. The “D”
refers to defining moments; Friedfeld outlined a few
from the company’s history, along with the lessons
he had learned.
Seven Keys to Surviving on Long Island
Friedfeld pointed out that preparation for “Big
HIA-LI President Terri Alessi-Miceli and David Friedfeld,

D” moments is especially critical for Long Island
businesses. To help attendees think of areas where
they could become more prepared and continue
to learn and innovate, he offered Seven Keys to

5 Ways to Optimize Landing Pages for Maximum Conversions
Conversion rates are the bread and butter of both
web-based and offline businesses around the globe.
The first thing a visitor sees is your landing page, so
it’s the first thing you should be focusing on as well.
Here are 5 ways to optimize your conversions with
your landing page:
Make it relevant
Make sure your website landing page is targeted
and relevant to your site visitor. If they searched for
“cheap desktop computers” the landing page should
have calls to action with that term built in.
Break down your sign-up forms
Create multi-step forms. If you have a very long
form with a lot of information to be filled out,
there’s no need to have it on a lengthy and tedious
form or webpage. This type of work and the threat of
taking away a significant amount of your potential
customer’s valuable time will negatively affect your
conversion rates. Instead, make it shorter with clearly
defined steps in order to get better completion results.
Lay out your information intelligently
Have your landing pages designed with a customer’s
mindset in mind; they want information and you want
to provide it. Tabs or an accordion navigation are a
good way to accomplish this, resulting in the ability
to change results on the landing page with a strong
and present call to action.
Utilize local page targeting
If you are marketing something that is based on
a certain locale, it’s crucial to have your pages
targeted to that area. For example, if you are in
New York City and you’re trying to sell tickets to
Broadway shows; it would make sense to have your
creative show images of New York City, Broadway
and various Broadway productions. Creating a
template you can use and swap out is a good way to
save time and money here.
bounce rate. If they are not where you’d like them
to be, consider a/b testing.
Keep an eye on it
Make sure you are measuring and making changes,
if necessary. Check your conversion rate and your
For more information on landing page optimization,

website at www.activewebgroup.com.
Whether you are directly selling products via your
e-commerce website or your site is designed to
generate leads that are distributed to a sales force,
each visitor to your website contributes value. Make
sure your landing pages are equipped not only to
receive them, but also to inform them and turn them
into happy, paying customers.

When a precision manufacturer
needed to grow,
Suffolk County Community College
and Empire State Development
engineered an opportunity.
What happens when New York’s largest community college partners with
New York’s most dynamic economic development organization to assist a
next-generation machining manufacturer?
The answer reflects the kind of public-private partnership that’s successfully
keeping businesses right here on Long Island. Just ask David Thuro, President of
Thuro Metal Products in Brentwood. As a leading provider of specialized valves,
fittings and machined parts, Thuro Metal Products (TMP) is trusted by world-renowned
aerospace, automotive and high-tech industrial companies like Boeing, Lamborghini,
and Embraer – leading to 20% growth in the past year alone.
To meet this increased demand, Suffolk County Community College’s Advanced
Manufacturing Training Center provided TMP with enhanced CNC training for their
machinists, as well interns from the College’s Manufacturing Technology Program.
What’s more, Empire State Development stepped in with valuable
performance-based tax credits through their Excelsior Jobs Program.
The result? Another company that’s now expanding operations, improving
productivity and adding jobs. To learn how Suffolk’s training programs and strategic
partners can help boost your bottom line, contact us today.

HIA-LI Teams with Suffolk Community College to Sponsor Career Development Conference for Students
Presentations by motivational speaker Barbara Rispoli,
State Department of Labor Associate Economist Shital
Patel and Portnoy, Messinger, Pearl & Associates’ HR
and Training Director Mary Simmons highlighted
high-in-demand job skills for the next decade,
growing economic sectors and strategies for aligning
interests and abilities with career opportunities. An
interactive luncheon session provided a forum for
students to network with local business leaders to
identify career opportunities within their organizations.
HIA-LI members Anne Shybunko-Moore of GSE
Dynamics Inc. and Deborah McGrory of Bridge
Bankcorp, along with executives from area banking,
pharmaceutical, employment and electronics companies,
served as student mentors. Drawing from personal
experience, Shybunko-Moore told students that it’s
not necessary to have a career plan fully chartered out
prior to graduation and to remain open to unforeseen
opportunities that may arise. Shybunko-Moore who
majored in Biology, sits at the helm of one of the area’s
leading military defense manufacturers.
In “Dream Big: Strategies for Life Planning,” Ristoli
outlined strategies for pairing interests and passions
with career goals. Patel balanced values and passions
with real-world opportunities, highlighting industries
that will lose the most and gain the most i n “Career
Trends for the Next Decade.” Simmons, an active
member of the HIA’s HR Committee, discussed
social media platforms students can leverage as part
of their job search arsenal in “Utilizing Social Media
to Enhance Career Success.”

students to align their passions and abilities with real
career opportunities.” DiStefano, an HIA-LI Board
member and member of the LI STEM HUB’s Regional
Industry Council Chair for Advanced Manufacturing,
was Master of Ceremonies for the conference.
“This was an incredible opportunity for participants
to learn from industry leaders about career trends,
needed job skills and ways students can get wired in
to their passions,” said Rita DiStefano, Director of HR
Consulting for Portnoy, Messinger, Pear & Associates,
“This is an important collaborative effort with Suffolk

Alessi-Miceli , President HIA-LI, “The business
community is challenged with better connecting to
the student population and this career day is one
of the many ways to do that. Thank you to Rita
DeStefano for leading the way.”
More than 200 students registered for the event, which
was held in partnership with SCC’s College Wide

Small businesses: Coping with a tight credit market.
Alison A. Longstreet,
Agent, New York Life Insurance Company
The ongoing tight credit environment
continues to impede growth among small
businesses. And with the threat of possible
inflation and rising prices, available credit
will be more and more difficult to secure.
Indeed a Small Business Credit Survey conducted by the
Federal Reserve Bank of New York revealed that 49%
of small businesses blame tight credit as a large factor in
limiting growth.1 Among firms operating with a loss, 66%
had difficulty getting credit, while 36% of profitable firms
were concerned about obtaining credit.
But there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Using a little
ingenuity and effort, there are several simple ways to help
stretch those business dollars, according to a recent online
Small Business Trends article, “5 Quick and Easy Tips to
Boost Your Small Business Cash Flow.”2
Page 22 Hauppauge Reporter May 2014
Open an interest-bearing checking account.
If you keep your business funds in a checking account,
upgrade to an interest-paying checking account. When you
maintain the minimum balance, you’ll avoid paying any
monthly fees or service charges.
expenses by using a points and/or cash rewards loyalty credit
card. Look for one that offers rewards you can use on a daily
basis.
Pay bills when they are due, not too early.
While it’s certainly important to pay your bills in a timely
manner, it’s not necessary to pay your bills earlier than
required. Take advantage of any 30- to 60-day grace periods
so you’ll have the money on hand to pay for any unexpected
or emergency expenses. Also, set up electronic transfers from
your checking account on the bill’s due date.
Go green.
By using paperless systems, you’ll be environmentally
correct while saving considerably on postage and printing.
Consider using electronic invoicing and direct deposit
payments for your employees.
Speed up your collections.
Instead of sending out invoices at the end of each month, try
invoicing upon delivery or completion, so you’ll get paid
sooner vs. later. Additionally, you can offer incentives like
rewards or discounts to those who pay early.
So, hopefully, with a little extra cash and a little patience,
your small business will be back on track to grow once the
economy stabilizes.
While the interest you’ll earn on a daily basis will be
negligible, you can earn a little more by directing most of
your business funds to a bank savings or money market
account, and transferring funds to the checking account as
you need it.

PROPOSED CAITHNESS II PLANT TO BE LI’s CLEANEST,
MOST ECONOMICAL POWER GENERATOR
Ross Ain, president of Caithness Long
Island, recently presented the HIALI’s
Energy/Utilities/Infrastructure
committee its plans for a new
750-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle,
natural-gas-fired power plant to be
built next to its existing 350-MW
facility Yaphank.
Caithness II was selected as the
finalist after an extensive analysis
of 45 projects as part of LIPA’s 2010
Generation and Transmission Request
for Proposals. Caithness II was chosen
as the best project to meet LI’s capacity
and energy needs, while providing the
greatest value to LIPA’s customers and
the environment.
Mr. Ain spoke of the economic and
environmental benefits the new plant will
bring to the region. “The Caithness II
project will generate nearly $200 million
in payroll and benefits during construction
and create up to 500 jobs at the height
of construction, while producing $400
million in direct expenditures on local
goods and services, and taxes over the
20-year life of its contract with LIPA.”
New combined-cycle power plants
produce 95% fewer emissions and use
one-third less fuel than the older steam
plants on LI. Caithness II is expected to
save LIPA more than $80 million a year
in fuel costs (based on recent prices for
natural gas).
A 2013 report by the New York
Independent System Operator indicates
that New York’s air quality has greatly
improved since 2000; it cited steep
reductions in sulfur dioxide, nitrogen
oxide and carbon dioxide emissions.
The EPA similarly noted that the TriState area now complies with EPA
air standards for particulate matter
2.5, which are fine particles 2.5
micrometers in diameter and smaller.
Mr. Ain noted that both findings
coincide with the introduction of new,
cleaner resources like Caithness I,
which was commissioned in 2009 and
now produces nearly 20% of the power
generated on LI.
HIA-LI 26th Annual Business Trade Show & Conference
The LI Regional Planning Council
recently designated Caithness II a
“Project of Regional Significance.”
Once operational, Caithness II will
be the cleanest, most efficient, most
water conserving and most economical
baseload plant on Long Island.
Construction is expected to begin in
late 2015 and finish by mid-2018.

Advertorial
The Strategic Partnership for Industrial
Resurgence (SPIR), established in 1994,
provides engineering and technical problem
solving assistance to New York state
companies. The SPIR program is offered
through the College of Engineering and
Applied Sciences at Stony Brook University
and over the past 20 years we have completed
more than 2900 projects with more than 480
companies. Our partners and the University
benefit on a variety of levels: we help to
keep high tech companies competitive and
we help to create and retain quality high tech
jobs in the state which benefits our graduates
by providing them with valuable professional
experience.
The success of the SPIR program is built
on the relationship between academic
engineers, students, and industry. SPIR
provides local industries with:
• The expertise of more than 190
engineers and applied scientists
• Experience with more than 480
companies in New York State.
• Access to top engineering and applied
science students in the following
disciplines:
-
Applied Math and Statistics
Biomedical Engineering
Biomedical Informatics
Chemical and Molecular
Engineering
Civil Engineering
Computer Science
Electrical and Computer
Engineering
Materials Science and Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
The program is instrumental in helping our
graduates find jobs; many SPIR students
are hired as full-time employees after
completion of their projects
• Access to advanced manufacturing and
high technology facilities
• Technical support on joint proposals to
help companies win federal funding
• A host of other resources to help
businesses become more competitive
We also have a rapid prototyping facility
that produces the highest quality, best
resolution prototypes to outside users on
Long Island. What is rapid prototyping?
It’s the technology that lets you construct a
physical model from a 3-D Computer-Aided
Design drawing via a Stereolithography
(*.STL) file.

Many times, a quality office refreshment
solution isn’t something we necessarily
put at the top of the list when discussing
the best ways to increase workplace
productivity and overall employee
happiness; but it should be.
A quality office refreshment solution
can accomplish both of the abovementioned objectives at a relatively
reasonable price.
Increasing Productivity
In any office environment, one of the
most-common ways that productivity
is lost during the workday, is to the alltoo-common Starbucks run. In a lot of
cases, one or two employees will walk
around the office, take co-workers’
coffee orders and make a “run” to
Starbucks for everyone’s favorite
coffee-based beverage. Before you
know it, an hour has passed before
these coffee heroes return to the office
with their teams’ afternoon caffeine
fix.
So let’s look at this situation, two
employees are gone for one hour per
day, every day of the week. In 2014,
that would add up to more than 500
hours lost to this ritual; not to mention
the time lost of each employee deciding
exactly what they wanted to order.
Now let’s say this same office had a
quality office refreshment program
in their pantry. By offering more
coffee choices, the need to make that
“Starbucks Run” is eliminated, and by
developing a total office refreshment
solution, the need for employees to
run out for things like cold drinks, or
healthy snacks.
In addition to eliminating the idea
of people leaving the office to go for
coffee or snacks, you’ve created a
breakroom where people enjoy going;
and furthermore, you’ve opened a new
area for collaboration among all of your
team members.
Delivering Happiness
While increasing productivity can
be easily quantifiable, employee
happiness is something that is slightly
harder in which to show an increase.
In a recent study done by Carbonview
Research, they found that 87% of
employees are more likely to be
satisfied with their coffee at work if
their employer offered coffee from a
Keurig Brewing System.

Page 1
Eighty-seven percent.
It is nearly impossible to get 87%
of employees at a company to agree
on anything, let alone being happier
because of premium office coffee.
What Does This Cost?
With all of the benefits that come from
a quality office refreshment solution,
it makes more sense to ask what is the
return on your investment (ROI) instead
of asking what it will cost. The actual
price of a quality office coffee can vary
greatly based on factors like number
of employees, type of coffee brewing
desired and types of refreshments
offered.
Some of the most admired companies
in the world such as Google, Facebook
and Bloomberg spend large amounts of
money in order to keep their employees
both happy and at the office; and it’s no
wonder these are the same companies
that find themselves on top of most
“Best Places to Work: lists year in and
year out.
So the next time the discussion of
the best ways to increase workplace
productivity and happiness, don’t start
with looking at more efficient systems
and increased vacation time; take a
look at offering better coffee and more
snacks – it might be a much more costeffective solution that makes everyone
a bit happier, everyday.

their investment in 2 years or less.
After the installation of their new
LED fixtures, many customers will
see a reduction in their energy bills
between 30%-75%, depending on
how many hours they operate.

Warehouse, retail and office
building owners looking to cut
costs and become more energy
efficient will immediately reduce
their electric bills by converting to
quality LED lights.
“Every new building I build has
LED lighting because it saves
money and provides better lighting.
Just make sure you find a quality
product” said Jack Kulka, Chairman
of the HIA Committee on Energy,
Utilities and Infrastructure.
Today’s LED technology provides
increased light quality at drastically
less power use.
LEDs are
generally 50-90% more efficient
than standard incandescent and
fluorescent lighting. For example
– a 60 watt incandescent bulb
can give the same brightness (or
lumens) as a 10 watt LED.
LED lights offer a quick payback.
Most of our customers who upgrade
to LED’s have seen a return on
LED lights last longer than 50,000
hours, compared to approximately
1,000 hours for a standard
incandescent bulb or 8,000 hours
for a fluorescent bulb. This greatly
reduces maintenance costs and the
need for regular bulb replacement
and is especially beneficial for
inaccessible or hard to reach areas.
Incandescent bulbs generate 20%
of their electric use to light and
80% to heat, LED’s reverse that,
so businesses upgrading to LED
fixtures will not only save on their
lighting costs, but on their AC
costs as well.
Finally, when you make the
decision to upgrade to LED’s it
is important to buy fixtures that
are either Energy Star or Design
Lights Consortium (DLC) certified
in order to qualify for attractive
rebates offered by PSEG- LI.

“Marketing gets your sales up
and keeps it up”
Ever wonder how your competition
still manages to grow their sales...even
through trying economic times? The
answer is aggressive marketing!
Cautious consumers look for robust
companies that will be around for years
to come. A strong brand presence,
created by continuous and aggressive
marketing, creates confidence in those
consumers. Conversely, companies that
cut back on their marketing become
invisible to potential customers, and are
soon forgotten.
