Why Brussels International Airport and Düsseldorf International Airport?
From years of experience we know that most of the international delegates arrive at Brussels and Düsseldorf International Airport. The distance by shuttle bus,
train, taxi or other transportation to Maastricht is maximum 60 minutes.
At Brussels International Airport a Welcome Desk will be provided by the Maastricht
Convention Bureau which will be decorated iCongress style and welcomes all arriving congress delegates and instruct/ guide them towards the Airport shuttle
waiting room until the shuttle arrives and is complete, which transports them towards Maastricht within an hour.
At Düsseldorf International Airport, a Welcome Desk could also be provided by the
Maastricht Convention Bureau which also is decorated in congress style and welcomes all arriving congress delegates and instructs/guides them towards shuttle
vans of Airport Hotel Van Der Valk (5 minutes drive from the arrival gate). There, the congress delegates will be welcomed in a waiting room of the Van der Valk hotel
until the shuttle arrives and is complete, which transports them towards Maastricht within an hour!
How does the Shuttle Service work from Brussels to Maastricht?
Depending on the preference of the organisation, (normally 1 day before the start of your meeting), we will arrange shuttles from Brussels between 8.00 – 24.00 hrs,
as preferred by the delegates and keeping in mind their various arrival times.
In a later stage we can arrange the arrival of the shuttles in detail and prepare a “Tailor Made” shuttle time schedule as we will know the exact travel details from your
participants as they book their hotel rooms free of charge, against best available rates through the Maastricht Booking Service department and website. Here, your
delegates will also been asked to enter their arrival time at Brussels International airport if they would like to use the Shuttles Service. All of the gathered travel
information will be used to complete the shuttles schedule as specific as possible keeping in mind delegates who are using the shuttles service will travel together in a
cab, shuttle bus or touring car, depending on the amount of arrivals at a specific time of the day.
During the days of arrival before the congress starts, delegates will arrive at Brussels International Airport and will be welcomed and instructed at the congress
“Welcome to Maastricht” desk. Delegates then will wait for the next arriving shuttle in the waiting room at the airport. At the moment the shuttle arrives and
enough delegates are gathered, the shuttles departs directly to Maastricht. We will make sure the maximum waiting time in Brussels or will be no longer then 1
hour, based on the arrival time of the delegates.
Based on the travel details we will receive on forehand from individual or group bookings, we know exactly in advance how many shuttles have to be Where and
on What time. (Best available hotel rates to be booked via Maastricht Booking Service as also for other possible services of use, therefore delegates will be advised to book throughout MBS website)
Of course we will take in calculation and adjust the shuttle capacity to people who arrive at the Airports, without having booked throughout the Maastricht
Booking Service website.
A service manager will be available at the Brussels Welcome desk and inform the delegates all about their transportation questions or other specific congress
questions. Next to that a professional Transportation manger will be appointed and will coordinate the entire shuttle operation. Of course additional shuttles or
taxis can be booked by these people should some decides to travel alone or did not reserved a seat on the shuttles “blocked on Forehand”.
Also these transport professionals can inform the participants regarding the train connections, flights, taxis, etc.
All shuttles will drop the congress delegates off at their booked hotel which is situated in the Maastricht city centre or adjacent towards MECC venue.
Congress shuttle service, cost per delegate:
As our Maastricht Booking Service Departments works in close cooperation with the Maastricht Hotels and Maastricht Transportation companies, we could offer
these shuttles for :

€ 36.00 per person, one way ticket or € 66.00 per person, round trip (Rate structure 2014)
The use of these shuttles can only be arranged, and will be pre charged in advance at the moment delegates also book their hotel rooms, via Maastricht Booking
Service.
* (the only obligation will be, congress delegates have to book their hotel rooms through the Maastricht Booking Service , as the arrangements and entire handling will be done in good cooperation with MBS).

Private Transfer Desk at MECC Maastricht during the Congress
Next to the complete service of Maastricht Booking Service, the welcome desks at
Brussels and Düsseldorf International Airports, a special transportation desk manned by the
Maastricht Taxi Companies could be arranged in MECC Maastricht during the entire meeting. Participants will be able to book, check or inform about
transportation from and to hotels, airports, restaurants, external venue etc. This possible extra service can be requested by the transportation companies, based
on the amount of delegates.
Please note that as from 2012 direct flights are scheduled from Maastricht – Aachen Airport daily to and from Amsterdam. This will make the entire accessibility
easier as it already is.

Railway station Maastricht Randwyck is situated at 5 minutes walking distance from MECC Maastricht and is directly connected with the international railroad
network and Maastricht Central Station.
Maastricht Brussels Express
Maastricht has excellent rail links with all major European cities. The Maastricht-Brussels Express is comfortable and fast! It takes you to the centre of Brussels in
about an hour. Paris is less than three hours away (change trains for the Thalys) and you are in London in just over three hours (change trains for the Eurostar). The

Fast Train / Eurostar
From London you can book the train to Brussels (2 hours) (www.Eurostar.com). In Brussels you change trains to Liege – Maastricht. Total journey time is about 4
hours.
Thalys: From Paris you can travel to Brussels (1 hour 20 minutes) or to Liège (2 hrs 15 minutes). Information and reservations can be made at www.thalys.com or
