Page-2_Page-2.qxd 2/28/2016 9:40 PM Page 1 02 UDAIPUR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 2016 Entertainment, Tech & Business People prefer Work over Words! All the noise these days in news and social media is very much disturbing. It gives you a perception that everything is not right in your own India which was so tolerant, patriotic, and peaceful developing one for all these years. I said perception because from the Award Waapsi to Mahishaasur and Ma Durga blasphemy, everything has been displayed on TV and spread across social media in disproportionate manner. Actually this is what we can use an an example of making mountain out of mole. All what has happened is unfortunate. But then these negative things have eclipsed the development being done or should have done. Each minute of Parliament is so important and expensive on the exchequer and was meant to discuss the development. The debate had to be on new policies, new ideas, and making lives better. And see what are we discussing and talking about. Patriotism is something that emanates from inside and goes outside. This is not the other way round. And same is very true for religion as well. You cannot ask someone to believe or hate one religion over the other. Even if a person is chanting one religious script, they may not be necessarily follower of that. A person's soul has their own feelings about religion and even patriotism. Those shouting slogans in favor of country may not necessarily be a patriot. And those who are not shouting may not be necessarily misanthropical. Actually true person does not need to prove their love or faith. They rather prefer to prove by their action when it is the apt time. Now, if these ideas are not going through people what else is? Well, people are smarter now. They do not fall in trap of politicians who try and ignite emotions of people in the name of religion or patriotism, rather, people today only judge you by work. When it's time to choose a government, people today analyse what the party in power has done and whether they deserve their vote again or not. Any act of supporting or opposing things that do not matter at all do not help. It's time all political leaders get back to their promises of development and start working as that is the only way people will judge you. Udaipur : 38 multinational companies have now signed the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) WASH Pledge - a business-led initiative that secures access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for all employees in the workplace. 11 of the companies are active implementers in India. Over the next three years, commitments to the Pledge will provide direct benefits to over 2.2 million people and indirect benefits to many more. Unsafe water and poor sanitation claim more lives worldwide than any other cause like war or a natural disaster. It is estimated that about 4 million people die every year die from diseases due to lack of adequate WASH conditions. Many companies have operations, employees, contractors and customers in regions lacking access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. Their economic, social and environmental impacts can cause illness or fatalities, impair productivity, and restrict markets for some products and services. This in turn restrains the growth of a country's economy. Several companies have committed to the WASHPledge thereby taking the first conscious step in the direction of ensuring WASH for their employees. The Pledge is a business-led initiative that secures access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for all employees in the workplace within three years. "I am glad that companies with operations in India have found the WASH at the Workplace Pledge as an effective tool for demonstrating their commitment to Swachh Bharat, and to play their part in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. It is heartening to note that businesses are driving the momentum for change, and working to ensure good standards of WASH for their employees" said Joppe Cramwinckel, Director Water at WBCSD. Hartek Power Connects 28-MW Solar Projects to Grid in Punjab Hartek Power Pvt Ltd, one of India's fastest growing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies based in Chandigarh with expertise in executing high-voltage turnkey substations and power infrastructure projects, has successfully connected two solar power projects of 28 MW to the grid for a leading solar developer in Muktsar district of Punjab. With this, Hartek Power has become the first company to accomplish the task under Phase 2 of the state's renewable energy policy. Known for setting new benchmarks in quality and timely deliv- ery over the years, Hartek Power successfully commissioned the 66/11 KV substations for the 24MW and 4-MW solar projects well before the specified deadline. With the completion of these projects, Hartek Power has connected 72 MW of solar power to the grid in Punjab out of the state's total installed capacity of about 245 MW, and is steadily inching towards the 100-MW mark. Hailing the achievement, Hartek Group Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Hartek Singh said, "We ensure high quality standards and create immense value for our clients in terms of services and timely execution.
