every year to share, study and to create new networks, projects
and initiatives that drive the profession forward.

YUR BACK™ Fitness Without Fear: Pilates and Spinal
Stenosis
This session will teach the YUR BACK Fitness Without
Fear program for working with clients with spinal stenosis.
Spinal stenosis can be a debilitating condition of the aging
spine and may cause clients to stop exercising due to pain.
The YUR BACK program uses Pilates exercise to keep
these clients active and strong without increasing their back
pain. In this workshop, learn the etiology of spinal stenosis
and how to keep clients with spinal stenosis active and
healthy using Pilates.

Pectoral Girdle: Using the Oov® to Optimize the Myofascial
Slings
Daniel Vladeta created the Oov to assist teachers to assess movement strategies, increase movement efficiency,
and improve breathing. The Oov is a powerful device that
mimics the body and creates a state of instability in order
to 1) give the user feedback and 2) improve our ability to
move more efficiently. Clients often manifest unhealthy
movement patterns and strategies in the body that are
caused by instabilities and asymmetries. These patterns
can lead to overuse syndromes and rigidity patterns. Research continues to define the myofascial slings and their
three-dimensional role in lumbar-pelvic stability through
force closure of the sacro-illiac joint. If we want to teach
dynamic stability for activities like tennis or golf, or for
simple daily tasks like lifting groceries, it is essential to
understand and integrate the myofascial slings. Doing this
on the Oov allows clients to immediately self-assess and

correct their movement at the level of the nervous system,
instead of having to ‘think’ about what to do. In this practical workshop, Daniel will explain pectoral girdle kinematics
and function. Learn how to assess the myofascial slings
in three-dimensions to quickly help your clients adopt
healthier movement patterns. Learn how with just hand,
elbow and shoulder positioning, you can start to integrate
and activate specific myofascial slings to increase dynamic
lumbo-pelvic stability during movement, without cueing. Join

The wunda chair has always been a favorite of mine; possibly because it is so small and unassuming yet infinite in its
possibilities, or possibly because my dear friend and mentor
Kathy Grant taught me so much on the wunda chair – she
loved it! This workshop will focus on the wunda chair with
the integrated F2 System. The F2 Wunda Chair offers multiple ways of building upon the classic repertoire. At the same
time it opens the doors to a myriad of options for new movement combinations. Achieving a full-body workout based on
the BASI Block System will be the underlying goal.

Trauma affects millions of people each year, and we often meet
traumatized clients in our studios. Although we are not psycholo-

gists and cannot treat trauma, we can recognize its effects and
understand how it affects us. In this workshop, we will look
at the structure and function of the nervous system, and how it
is affected by trauma in different ways. We will also investigate
topics such as how memory functions, how to help clients create resourceful states of mind, and how we as teachers can
remain resourceful. When trauma and its impacts are recognized, it is possible to affect trauma survivors’ lives in profoundly
positive ways. These positive impacts can also extend to
the clients’ families and further - to the society we live in. This
workshop will consist of lecture, demonstration and exercises

In this workshop, you will learn new science that will transform
the way you think about the powerhouse, discover how to
complement standard Pilates mat exercises with a Soft Half
Roller, and learn how to improve mat and apparatus work by
prefacing it with MELT’s unique connective tissue hydration
techniques. The goal of MELT for Pilates is creating a more
efficient body that can better execute Pilates moves while
increasing the specificity and decreasing the compensation of
the mat exercises so they are as challenging as the apparatus

In this workshop, participants will learn how to incorporate
the ActivMotion Bar into their Pilates workouts, progressing
from exercises that work on stabilizing an unstable load,

strength adaptations.

The Trapeze Table: The Best Massage Ever!
Joe’s favorite piece of equipment was the trapeze table. It
is Mary’s also. She has taken it far beyond the usual exercises, using it to open and massage muscles throughout
the whole body. The trapeze table provides the scope and
freedom to reach all areas of the body. This is too good not
to share. The best trapeze table massage is done to music.
Mary prefers the themes and rhythms of great classical
music. She will demonstrate and inspire you to go home
and try it for yourselves.

1) Mary Bowen, PMA®-CPT PILATES PLUS PYSCHE: Pilates and Chronic Tension Patterns
One of Joe’s most important teachings was “Be sure you are
using the ‘whole body’.” He meant for every move. No matter
how much we intend to do just that, every pocket of chronic
tension in our bodies prevents it. Each one of us needs to
discover, focus on, enter and move into each area of chronic
tension, breathing into it, inviting and allowing it to change…
creating more space around it. Then eventually we may be
able to experience the whole body in each movement as Joe
instructed. This takes time. Mary’s workshop will address,
from head to toe, the areas we tend to hold onto and not be
able to let go…for whatever reason. It is often suspected that
this problem is caused by birth trauma, misalignments, bad
habits, ignorance and poor posture or it may have psychological roots from the experiences of our individual psyches.
It is important for the Pilates teacher to take on this problem
of chronic tension wherever it lies, to understand it better and
to learn to have patience with it both for oneself and for one’s
clients. Mary welcomes all who are interested in the discovery of “the whole body in every movement.” To achieve this
one will need to address “the whole person.”

Being able to articulate the value of Pilates - and specifically a
session with you or within your studio - is a skill that is crucial
to your success. In this workshop I will help you define what is
truly inspiring about what you do, and guide you in getting real
clarity around your unique brand. You will uncover what you
should highlight when talking about your business (and what
you should leave out), and learn how to talk about what you
do to attract more clients and deepen your relationships with
existing clients.
3) Rael Isacowitz, PMA®-CPT The Spine Corrector: Small, Potent and Irreplaceable
The Spine Corrector is one of Joseph Pilates’ original pieces
of apparatus and one of the most underutilized. It stands out in
the lineup of Pilates apparatus for its unique features, among
them offering trunk support during spinal extension and its
relatively small size. It is a perfect piece to integrate into any
Pilates session, be it one focused on apparatus or even a
large group class. This workshop will offer repertoire that can
be performed on any Spine Corrector. Achieving a full-body
workout will be the underlying goal.

The Flow and Rhythm of the Pilates Wunda Chair Workout
To ensure that every Pilates workout is successful, that is –
effective – the teacher needs to strive for a dynamic balance
between precision and flow. It is a workout after all! In this
workshop, we will look into how to honor the integrity of the
exercises without losing the flow of the breath, and therefore
the flow of the entire session. It is the emphasis on the breath
cycle that makes the exercises flow so powerfully. Another key
component of an efficient flowing workout is the transitions. It
is all in the details. We will review how to flow with the equipment for a true workout!

The Auto-Regulated Pelvis
Come and experience the auto-regulation of the pelvis. As it
turns out, ‘letting go’ is actually a means of stabilization! The
pelvis automatically stabilizes itself from the feedback of your
hands, your feet and your breathing, appropriate to the job
at hand. Our emotions, reactions and environments determine how efficiently the feedback response is carried out. The
common feelings of a weak pelvic floor and pelvic dysfunction occur when auto-regulation is not available. In the new
understanding of fascial anatomy, there is no such thing as
an isolated weak muscle. Weakness is a lack of connection
to the whole. Feel the pelvis respond automatically as part of
the whole auto-regulating system, informed by the neurofascia. Experience how, if we contract isolated muscles, we are

in fact interfering with the coherence of a system. Become
aware of the tension in your own pelvis, how to recognize

Optimizing Breast Cancer Recovery through Pilates
This workshop will provide you with a brief overview of
the biomechanical, neural, physiological and psychosocial
impact of cancer treatments on your client’s functional mobility and quality of life. It will reveal the benefits of Pilates
exercise in cancer recovery. You will discover your integral
role as a Pilates teacher in the “breast cancer prevention
to survivorship” continuum and best practices that assist
survivors in their “return to life.”

Optimizing Pilates for Post Rotator Cuff Repair
Rotator cuff disease is one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal disorders. Studies have found that the incidence
of rotator cuff tears may exceed 50% in people older than
65. Given that this age group is the fastest growing segment of the US population, rotator cuff disease is poised
to become an even more significant problem for our clients in the future. We’ll review the anatomy of the rotator
cuff, post surgical guidelines, and explore Pilates mat and
equipment work that facilitates restoration of function after
rotator cuff repair. Find out which range of motion is most
commonly the last to return after surgery and how you can
help your clients, within your scope of practice, to restore
their strength and range of motion utilizing the versatile
Pilates environment.

The Breadth of Using Breath: A Pilates Guiding Principal and its
Practical Application in Rehabilitation and Performance
Using JH Pilates’ guiding principle of the Pilates Method,
breath, we explore the relationship breath has with pain,
injury, movement, and rehabilitation. This lecture will provide
insight into the fundamentals of thoracic mobility, breathing’s
role in core stability, and the practical application of a breathing assessment and exercise prescription in rehabilitation
and performance. This session will cover different exercises
in the contemporary Pilates environment to improve thoracic
mobility, lumbar mobility, pelvis floor function, breath capacity, and core stability.

Creating a Home Program
In many Pilates studios there are clients with limited time
and some with limited disposable income. These clients are
sometimes only able to manage one studio session each
week and some even less. How can we help them progress
their fitness and conditioning and maintain the benefits of
their studio classes in between sessions? Homework is
essential. Discover how to create a home program that is
dedicated to the specific needs of the client and is realistic
for them to stick to. Learn to create an engaging workout
that is manageable and goal oriented, and that is ultimately
safe, sensible and satisfying. Learn how to help your client
return to your studio with a sense of accomplishment and
the rewarding experience of taking responsibility for their
own progress.

Developing and Conducting Quality Research
This workshop will focus on how to develop and conduct
quality research by reviewing the research process. The
process will be reviewed in the session using examples of
research topics developed through to a complete research
proposal. Developing and using informed consent and/or
assent as well as the role of Institutional Review Boards
(IRB) will also be addressed. Even if you are not interested
in conducting research, this workshop should aid you in
determining valid, quality research that could be applied to
your practice.

6) Suzanne Martin, MA, DPT, CLT, PMA®-CPT
Addressing Asymmetries within the Pilates Environment
This is a practical, participatory workshop. Many of our clients come to us with asymmetries. The causes range from
normal discrepancies in side-to-side development in youth
such as scoliosis, as well as injuries such as falls, sprains
and fractures, along with child-birthing injury. Clients often
note discomforts if not outright pain due to compensatory
soft tissue changes in ligaments, fascia, muscle and tendon. As a result they often display functional signs resulting
in musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Learn to observe
and assess the various ways to identify these faulty movement patterns while also learning to develop strategies to
address them in the Pilates environment. Use the milestones of the first year before walking as a framework to
program your session. This sequence will organize your
program along with the use of a simple wedge tool. Come
away with strategies that aid symmetry for daily life and
recreational activities.

Upright Pilates
Pilates was designed to follow nature’s learning curve when
it comes to the progression of movement: from lying to
sitting to kneeling to standing, gradually lifting the body’s
center of gravity. Get on your feet in this workshop and
learn the many unique standing exercises from Joe Pilates’
original repertoire, as well as progressions of familiar mat
exercises to the upright position.

Pilates, What it is, What it Does - based On Carola Trier’s Book
In 2016, many Pilates teachers have never heard of Carola
Trier, the very first teacher trained by Joseph Pilates. Carola
not only opened the first New York City studio to offer Body
Contrology (after Joe), but she wrote a wonderful little book
for children in 1982. “Exercise, What it is, What it Does” is a
beautifully written, precisely illustrated volume, and it contains fantastic exercises, advice, and imagery for anyone,
young or old, wishing to learn more about exercise. Sadly,
Carola’s book has been out of print for many years, so this
workshop is your unique opportunity to share in a first generation master teacher’s wisdom, instruction and humor! Jillian
Hessel taught for Carola during the writing and publication of
the book.

Training
This training refers to explosive exercise utilizing powerful
muscular contractions. The Pilates Method offers a unique
opportunity to train and challenge plyometric ability utilizing
the jumpboard repertoire and variations. This workshop will
look at the mechanics of jumping as a plyometric activity and
the integration of traditional and evolved Pilates jumpboard
variations for plyometric training and specific applications.

What’s the Worst that Can Happen? Risk Management for Small
Business Owners - (Business Session)
Most small businesses fail within the first 5 years, and often
this is due to incidents that could have easily been avoided!

that can wreak havoc on small businesses. Carrie’s informal

Postural Assessment and Alignment Correctives for Group
Classes
Assessing and correcting alignment can seem next to impossible in group classes but it is possible and easy to incorporate into your classes. Learn techniques for group assessments, teaching postural awareness and self-correction. We
will review the basics of correct alignment and methodology
for postural evaluation. Corrective / awareness exercises will
be covered, as well as the use of props and how to integrate
them into classes. This material is applicable to private training sessions as well as group classes.

Teaching Technique: Understanding Resistance
Joseph Pilates used his body to provide resistance for
his clients. According to Kathy Grant, creating equipment
was at least in part motivated by the need to spare his
body. Carola Trier’s teaching encompassed partnering to
facilitate learning the essence of an exercise – in “Pilates
speak”, FEELING your body and EXPERIENCING the
movement. Understanding the how and why of resistance,
and why the resistance is presented through extension
springs, is the pre-requisite to properly using Pilates
equipment. In this workshop we will work with partners to
identify particular manual skills that will translate to optimal use of springs on Pilates equipment.

Ideokinesis for Pilates Teachers
Ideokinesis is the practice of visualizing very specific movement
imagery designed to immediately improve the performance of
any and all musculo-skeletal movements and actions with greater
ease, efficiency and success. It can be utilized to enhance the
performance of something as simple as getting up from a chair,
as energetically demanding as running a marathon, as complex
as a martial arts sword form, as refined as the choreography in a
classical ballet. The imagery utilized is based on a very detailed
understanding of anatomy and kinesiology. The exact imagery
utilized must vary according to the needs of the individual as
well as the nature of that individual’s particular action goal. The
person visualizes a pathway or vector of motion traveling through
the body from a particular location, in a particular direction and
with particular dynamic qualities. The result is a change in the
length-tension patterns of muscle activity throughout the person’s
body that produces an advantageous change in the person’s
neuromuscular performance and whole-body integrity.
Ideokinesis was the name given to this practice by Lulu E.
Sweigard in the 1970’s (although the approach was first developed and taught by Mabel Todd in the 1920’s). The practice
of ideokinesis is based in sound motor learning principles.
Application of ideokinesis as a means to enhance learning and
movement performance in measurable and reproducible ways
has been supported by considerable neuroscience research.
In this workshop, Irene will give an introduction to the teachings of Lulu Sweigard as she received them from her at the
Juilliard School during the last years of her life, between 1968
and 1974. Participants will experience Sweigard’s “9-linesof-movement” and “constructive rest”, as well as some of the
movement practices and strategies she taught.
Irene will also demonstrate and explore how ideokinesis can
be utilized to enhance performance in basic activities such as
sitting, walking, lifting an object. Some ideokinetic imagery
and certain of the movement practices devised by Sweigard
are quite obviously useful when engaging in many traditional
Pilates protocols. We will focus on these particularly, exploring
why and how they can be useful on a practical level.

provider. She has been teaching the
Pilates Method since 2001 and was
trained by Romana Kryzanowska, one
of Joseph Pilates’ protégés. As a lead
MELT Instructor and Co-Creator of the
MELT for Pilates program, Hallee is
inspired to teach others how to better
understand their body’s boundaries
and intensify their workouts while staying
pain-free. Hallee has led numerous
instructor and general public workshops
on the topic of Pilates, MELT, and the
fusion of these two incredible and complementary modalities. She has worked
with numerous clients including those
who are pre/post-natal, post-surgery,
athletes, and weekend warriors; those
who have an injury, pain, or body discomfort; and those who want to lose
weight or counteract the effects of aging.
Hallee graduated summa cum laude
from Emory University and authored
her first Psychological research study
in 1999. In 2003 she earned a master’s
degree in Dance Education from NYU.
Prior to opening The Center Studio,
Hallee worked as a creative movement

trained with Rael Isacowitz from the late
1980’s, Sally delivered BASI training

and leading the accreditation of the first

specific qualifications in 2004, and the

Bachelors Degree in June 2013. Sally

Mary Bowen, PMA -CPT, at

86, is the eldest Pilates elder still teaching.
She is an outstanding mentor, as she
supports each Pilates teacher’s creativity
and self-development in any stage of
their Pilates career. Mary has lived
Pilates for 57 years. At 29 for six and a
half years she studied with Joe and Clara
themselves. Lessons for her did not
end after Joe’s passing. Consecutively
for 7 years each she studied with Bob
Seed, Romana Kryzanowska, Kathy
Grant, Bruce King, Jean Claude West
and Christine Wright. Mary’s Pilates
evolved with each teacher, from an early
career in theatre and from 45 years,
since 1970, as a Jungian psychoanalyst.
For 20 years the analyst and the Pilates teacher were parallel, until 1995,
when without intention, they combined
forces in teaching Pilates. By 2000 this
combination had become Mary’s unique
signature offering at the PMA – Pilates
Plus Psyche. Mary mentors in New York
City, Killingworth, CT and Northampton,
MA for two full days, 14 hours of 1-1
work on Pilates plus Psyche, working
with clients on wherever they are in their
lives. She accepts students at all levels,

Irene Dowd, studied with and Seran Glanfield, PMA ®
assisted Lulu E. Sweigard at the Juilliard
School from 1968-1974, and was designated as authorized by Sweigard to
teach Ideokinesis. Currently, Irene is
on the dance faculty of the Juilliard
School. She has been a regular guest
at Canada’s National Ballet School and
NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts for many
years. Irene is the recipient of the 2014
Balasaraswati/Joy Ann Dewey Beinecke
Chair for Distinguished teaching at
American Dance Festival, and recipient
of the 2015 Juilliard School John Erskine
Faculty Prize. Author of Taking Root to
Fly (now in the 11th printing of the 3rd
edition), she has maintained a private
practice in kinesthetic anatomy and
neuromuscular re-education for over 45
years in NYC. Irene has choreographed
for Peggy Baker, Margie Gillis and

Lanette Gavran, PMA ®
CPT, is a director of Pilates International
Training Centre (PilatesITC) and Pilates
Canberra Studios in Australia. Lanette
has 18 years of experience teaching
the Pilates Method. Her background in

range of Pilates training, culminating
in the Advanced Diploma of the Pilates
Method. Lanette has held positions

Alastair Greetham, MCSP
has worked in the area of physical therapy,
movement and learning facilitation,
and education for nearly 40 years. His
early work as a military physiotherapist
created a desire to understand the differences he observed in how different
individuals dealt with and responded to
adversity. This led to an ongoing curiosity
to discover how to help people create
the results he saw in some people,
and whether the abilities that certain
people had were learnable. While not
a psychologist or psychiatrist, he has
sought to uncover the elements that
allow people to grow, learn and change.
This work has had an impact on his
physical therapy work and led to him
being asked to train on programs for
traumatized veterans in the UK. He is
also a Pilates-based rehabilitation practitioner trained by Polestar Pilates and
was a Polestar educator for several
years. He describes himself as at that

Anna Hartman MS, ATC,

with 14 years of experience working

Alan Herdman, PMA -CPT,

studied at the London School of Contemporary Dance. In the late 1960s, he was
invited to New York City to learn about
the Pilates Method. There he worked
intensively with Carola Trier and Bob
Fitzgerald. Pilates was unknown in the
UK at that time, so Alan returned in
1970 to set up Britain’s first Pilates studio.
Among his clients were actors, dancers,
and singers, but word soon spread as
doctors and physiotherapists began
recommending Pilates to patients struggling with chronic injuries. Alan lectures
on Pilates worldwide, directs a training
course for Pilates instructors and runs
his own studios. He has written several
successful books on the Pilates Method.

Rebecca Hess, PhD, is a former certified personal
trainer and professional dancer. She has extensive training
and experience as a dance educator and researcher in human
movement and postural control. Rebecca completed her Ph.D.
in developmental movement studies from the University of
Pittsburgh, and post-doctoral research in the Balance Lab
at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Eye and Ear
Institute. As a professor in the health and exercise sciences,
with research as an integral part of her teaching, Rebecca has
received three teaching awards in her career. She is a past
member/presenter for the National Dance Alliance (NDA), and
active member/presenter for the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance,
Inc. (PSAHPERD), and the International Association for Dance
Medicine and Science (IADMS), publishing articles in various
journals including the Journal of Dance Medicine and Science
and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. She is
a member of the PMA’s Research Committee.

Debora Kolwey, PMA -CPT,

began teaching Pilates in 1985. She
joined the teaching staff at The Pilates
Center in Boulder in 1991, and in 1999
became a Licensed Teacher Trainer for
The Pilates Center. Debora has presented
several times at PMA conferences. Debora’s approach to teaching Pilates has
been influenced by many sources including her career in modern dance,
and her background in yoga, Body Mind
Centering, Buddhist meditation, and Chi
Gong healing. Debora travels nationally
and internationally teaching The Pilates
Center’s Teacher Training Program, the
work of Eve Gentry, and workshops on her
own approach to body, mind, and spirit.

Michele Larsson, PMA ®
CPT, is a former dancer and choreographer who trained in New York City at
the Juilliard School of Music. In 1981
she received a BA in Holistic Health and
Dance Theater from Antioch University.
In 1982, after 12 years of study with Eve
Gentry, she began teacher training under
Eve’s guidance. Michele worked as an
associate teacher with Eve Gentry for 9
years prior to the founding of the Institute
for the Pilates Method in June 1991. In
1996 she founded Core Dynamics, Inc.
and sold it in 2014. Michele has presented
worldwide, given advanced workshops
and conducted teacher training.

Deborah Lessen, PMA ®
CPT, is an acknowledged leader in the
Pilates field. A former professional dancer
and teacher, she was trained to teach
the Pilates Method by Joseph Pilates’
first protégé, Carola Trier. Ms. Lessen
founded the Greene Street Studio in 1983
which nurtures a broad base of clients
in the Pilates method for general conditioning, performance specific training,
injury prevention and post-rehabilitation.
Ms. Lessen is a founding member of
the Pilates Method Alliance, serving on
the Board of Directors from its inception through 2008. She was instrumental in the creation and implementation of
the PMA Pilates Certification Exam. She
served as Chairperson of the PMA Certification Commission from its inception

Bob Liekens, PMA -CPT, has

keeping it classical, for over thirty years.
Born and raised in Belgium, Bob relocated
to New York City to further his dance
career in 1983. That same year he was
introduced to the classical Pilates Method
at Romana’s Pilates Studio. In 1986,
Romana personally invited him to teach
at her studio. In 1993, he collaborated with
Romana in the creation of her first Pilates
teacher training program and assisted

CPT, became a professional dancer after
rehabilitating his own severe movement
restrictions established at birth due to
Cerebral Palsy. Trent understands how
quality of life is affected by how well you
can (or can’t) move your body. For nearly
20 years, he has been sharing his discoveries and methods with those seeking
to overcome their own movement limitations. This has culminated in the design
and release of his equipment, “Arcus
by McEntire”. Trent has presented his
work at conferences such as the Pilates
Method Alliance, Pilates On Tour, and
the Body Mind Expo Conference. He
has taught workshops in Italy, Spain,
Mexico, Brazil, Canada, and throughout
the US. He has a BFA in Dance and is a
PMA-CPT. The McEntire School International is the home for his educational
courses, workshops, and mentoring that
has grown out of his original and ongoing
discoveries. Trent is the Immediate Past
President of the PMA’s Board of Directors,

Power Pilates in New York. Because of

Kyria Sabin Waugaman, PMA -CPT, is

owner and Director of Body Works Pilates Studios and Fletcher
Pilates, an international Pilates school offering comprehensive

Works Pilates in Tucson, Arizona in 1993. The teacher-training
program that Kyria initiated in 1999 was eventually formalized as
the Fletcher Pilates Program of Study, and became the first statelicensed Pilates school in Arizona. A graduate of Duke University, a
PMA Certified Pilates Teacher and a licensed massage therapist,
Kyria developed the Pilates Program at the University of Arizona
School of Dance where she serves as Adjunct Faculty. She is

Puerto Rico where she founded Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico
and Pilates y Más, Inc. Her Pilates Master Mentor Program has

Karyn Staples, PT, PhD,
OCS, PMA®-CPT is a wife, mother of
two, physical therapist, Pilates instructor,

and mentor. Karyn lives in Peachtree
City, GA and is the local operator of
ProHealth Physical Therapy and Pilates
Studio (established June 2005). She
graduated from the University of Evansville (Evansville, IN) in May 1998 with
a master’s degree and Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy. Karyn
received her PhD from Rocky Mountain
University of Health Professions (Provo,
UT) with the focus area of orthopedics
and sports science in April 2011. Her

the Pilates Studio “Touch” in Florence,
Italy with a staff of 7 instructors. Jolita
began her Pilates training in 1999 with
the Pilates Institute UK, for which she
acted as Technical Director for the Italian branch until she founded her own
teacher training school, “Pilates Network”, which is listed in the PMA Registry of Schools. In 2010 she obtained

CPT is the founder of Real Pilates in New
York City, and the author of five books including the best-selling Pilates: Body in

committed to passing on her knowledge

and orthopedic company that lead to him work around the world
with top surgeons on the development of surgical devices. His
return to Australia led him to begin development of a device that
acted as a bio-feedback or self regulating device with an unstable
base, to be used in both rehabilitation and functional exercise.
From these efforts, the Oov was created. Daniel now works with
leading practitioners collaborating on rehabilitation and exercise
prescription, and delivers workshops to physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, exercise physiologists, Pilates instructors and
personal trainers. He works with elite and professional athletes
in all sports, including tennis, golf, rugby, Australian football, swimming and athletics.

has been a Pilates instructor since 1997. Jennifer co-owns Pilates
Chicago with her husband Matthew, and facilitates Pilates Chicago’s apprenticeship-based Instructor Training Program. Curious
