CEFCU® is a Credit Union — a member-owned,
not-for-profit financial cooperative. There are no
outside investors. Those who borrow and save
with the Credit Union are the owners. It’s a place
where people come first.
WHO CAN JOIN?
Like all credit unions, CEFCU serves people with
a “common bond,” such as a defined community,
employer, group, or professional organization.
The following people can join CEFCU:
• Anyone who lives or works in Fulton, Knox,
Livingston, Logan, Macon, Marshall, Mason,
McLean, Peoria, Putnam, Sangamon, Stark,
Tazewell, and Woodford Counties in Illinois
or in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara
Counties in California.
• Employees or retirees of CEFCU’s partner
companies. Contact CEFCU for a complete list
of current partner companies.
• Employees or retirees of Caterpillar Inc.,
a Caterpillar subsidiary, or a
Caterpillar dealership.
• Immediate family or household members of
all the above.

MEMBERS JUST HAVE IT BETTER
Since 1937, CEFCU’s focus has been helping
member/owners improve their financial
well-being. Because CEFCU isn’t profit-driven,

MEMBERSHIP PLAN OPTIONS
PLAN TYPE
As a CEFCU member, it’s easy to manage your
account, your way. You can choose from three
different membership plans, depending on the way
you prefer to do business. Also, if you are under
age 25, your account is free — automatically!
The Loyalty Plan allows you to enjoy unlimited
personal service with no monthly fee. To
qualify, simply do one or more of the following
each month:
• Make five or more purchases with your
CEFCU Debit MasterCard®
• Have a recurring monthly direct deposit
totaling $200 or more
• Use CEFCU Bill Pay to pay at least one bill
• Maintain a minimum individual or
household balance1
The E-Choice Plan may be right for you if
you prefer to use ATMs and other convenient
automated services to handle routine transactions2,
but you don’t regularly use a Debit Card, CEFCU
Bill Pay, direct deposit, or don’t maintain the
minimum balance in your savings and
loan accounts.
The Options Plan allows you to pay a monthly
fee of only $5 for full membership benefits and
unlimited personal service, if the Loyalty or
E-Choice Plans aren’t right for you.

Routine transactions include check cashing, balance
inquiries, deposits, cash withdrawals, and transferring
funds between CEFCU accounts. Non-routine transactions
involve those that might require personal assistance,
such as applying for a loan, loan payments, purchasing
Personal Money Orders or Cashier’s Checks, counting
coins, discussing financial needs, or other transactions that
can’t be completed through automated means.

stories, and calculators.
Milestone
• Developed for teens ages 13–15.
• Find ATMs, Member Center hours, rates, and
more using CEFCU Mobile Banking or by

• Includes access to “AJ’s,” a website that
offers games, stories, calculators, a glossary,
and more to help teens understand money
and goals.
Capstone
• Developed for young adults ages 16–17.
• Young adults can develop money skills using
“C-Note,” on the Web. There’s a wide variety of
resources — including stories, videos, games,
and more!

CHECKING, SAVINGS, AND MORE
As a CEFCU member, you can earn higher

• Savings Account. Start with just $5 and a
one-time, $1 membership fee, to start earning
a competitive dividend rate.
• Certificate. With terms ranging from three
months to five years, fixed-rate Certificates

minimum balance of just $1,000.
Jumbo Certificates (opening balance of
$100,000 or more) are also available for even
higher dividends.
• Insured Money Market Account (IMMA). With
a minimum balance of just $2,500, you can earn

• Holiday Saver. A simple way to build holiday
cash throughout the year while earning a

• My Use Savings Account. Designate Savings
accounts for specific goals — with no
minimum balance requirements. You can even

$5 to open, make deposits of any amount up
