EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
The Home is a Child’s First Learning Center.
Set a positive and nurturing foundation of love and learning.
Be a good role model—children learn by watching and imitating you.
Teach everyday—children can learn through daily routines such
as bathing, eating, and grocery shopping; remember to talk to
your child during as you work with them.
Celebrate their learning and ability to learn.
Build a learning community through developing partnerships
with child care providers, teachers, and community.
Place a high value on learning and education.
There are Model Child Care Centers in Guam recognized by the Department of Public Health and Social
Services (DPHSS), Division of Public Welfare, Child Care & Development Fund Program (CCDF) and the
University of Guam Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Research, Education and Service.
These centers receive up to 100% reimbursements in child care tuition for eligible families and have
received mini—grants to help supplement their resources and meet the accessibility requirements
under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The Model Child Care Center Program is part of a Quality Rating System whereby child care centers are
providing child care services that exceed the DPSS requirements for licensure. Training and technical assistance are provided to these centers by UOG CEEDERS.
The centers shaded in this section have earned the designation of
being a Model Child Care Center.
