Cornwall is without doubt one
of the most beautiful counties
in the UK, from the dramatic
coastline to the beautiful inland
waterways. And in our opinion,
the Helford River is one of the
prettiest parts of the county.
We’ve teamed up with Koru
Kayaking to offer stunning guided
kayak adventures direct from our
private foreshore to Frenchman’s
Creek, the inspiration for
Daphne du Maurier’s novel of the
same name.
The Helford River offers a rich
array of sights from a kayak, and
it’s a quiet and gentle way to
explore, passing sailing boats and
the edges of ancient oak forest
plus an opportunity to swim in
the soft waters of the creek.
The deal:

receive a free kayak session for 2 hours. No experience
necessary, lifejackets provided, wetsuits available to hire. T&Cs

swimming’ in the waters of the Helford
River? It’s never too late to learn. Our
expert coach, Len Hatcher, has over 30
years experience in teaching people to
swim.

This is a light hearted programme of five competitions over seven days, with the best two scores
counting towards the Challenge Trophy, plus fun prizes for the first and second placed ladies and gents

in the summer of 2014 to a sell-out show.

Our walking breaks are the best way
to discover a wealth of wildlife while
out exploring the wonderful paths and
trails that criss-cross the landscape.
Our May break is led by Paul Simmons
from walkitcornwall, and over 3 days
you will be taken to locations across
West Cornwall to explore the South
West Coast Path and sites of cultural
and historic significance, with Pauls’
expert insight and commentary.
Our September break is led by Steve
Crummay from Explore in Cornwall, and
over 3 days you will explore the diverse
seascapes and landscapes on circular
day walks from the hotel with Steve’s
vast knowledge of local history, flora
and fauna.
Paul and Steve have been leading walks
in Cornwall for many years, and you
will walk at a leisurely pace for around
6 - 9 miles (9-12kms) each day. Exact
locations will be decided nearer the
time to make the most of the weather.

Bridge and Golf

Our ‘Bridge and Golf’ breaks are designed for bridge players who also enjoy some fresh air and
relaxation during their holiday. Golf is played on the hotel’s own parkland course. The Helford
Lounge is dedicated for bridge playing. This lounge has excellent natural light by day and a lighting
system designed specifically for card playing after dark. Individuals and couples are welcome.
The competitions are EBU licensed and
master points are awarded. Partners
are provided for individual plays and
complimentary tuition is included.
The morning analysis and training session
is completed by 11.30am and the duplicate
bridge starts at 6pm with a break for dinner.
Rubber Bridge is offered for those who do
not want to play golf.

Our new Crafting Break fits in perfectly for
you to make Christmas cards and gifts at
the end of November. You will receive expert
tuition over three days with Liz Shannon of
‘Elizabeth’s Craft Room’, plus a free day to
relax and explore the local area. If you like
making unique Christmas cards and gifts this
is the break for you.
Staying for 5 nights you will have 3 mornings
of expert tuition with time in the afternoon to
work on your projects, plus free time to enjoy
all the local area has to offer. All materials are
provided and you will be using high quality
Stampin’ Up! craft supplies. Each morning
session will last 2.5 hours and Liz will teach you
to make a 3D wine bottle holder and two cards,
a gift bag and a ‘magical drawer box’. At the end
of each session Liz will demonstrate other paper
