We are excited to announce that BISSELL Blocktail Party is turning 10 this year — that’s 70 in dog
years! This annual event has raised nearly one million dollars for local animal welfare organizations
since its grass-roots beginnings on Cherry Street. We are so proud of this accomplishment and
humbled by the commitment from supporters like you. However, so much work still needs to be done. This year, we are hosting the “BEST DOG-GONE Party in Town” on Tuesday, June 9, from 6 to 9 p.m.
We expect 700 two-legged guests and their furry friends to join us for a birthday celebration on the
beautiful lawn of Mangiamo!
Since we are turning double digits, we decided to throw a VIP Sponsor Party like no other. On Monday,
June 8, sponsors of BISSELL Blocktail Party and their guests will have the opportunity to attend a
dinner and then rock out to a private concert performed by Blue Sky Riders (Kenny Loggins, Georgia
Middleman, Gary Burr). Cathy and Mark Bissell will host the “FINALLY HOME” VIP Sponsor Party at
the BISSELL Corporate Hangar, at Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
Most importantly, your sponsorship helps us further our commitment to saving our community’s
homeless pets. All funds raised will benefit animal welfare organizations through BISSELL Pet
Foundation, supporting pet adoption, spay/neuter programs, microchipping and foster care. One
of our grant recipients, Vicky’s Pet Connection, describes the impact of these dollars on their
organization: “Thanks to funding from BISSELL Blocktail Party grant awards over the last few years,
we are able to rescue, care for and rehabilitate senior and special needs dogs and cats that would
otherwise face a bleak prognosis. Thank you BISSELL Pet Foundation for providing many more happy
endings for these special pets!”
