PROGRAM GUIDE APRIL 2016 VOL. 46 NO. 4 Call the Midwife, Season 5 Democratic Senate Debate Sundays, April 3–May 22, at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at 8:00 p.m. It’s 1961 and Poplar is beginning to feel the winds of social change, along with improvements in housing, sanitation, and healthcare. The midwives and nuns of Nonnatus House encounter complex and challenging cases, from an outbreak of typhoid to a pregnant teenager, and a mother who vanishes. Hear from Democratic candidates for the seat of U.S. Senator for Pennsylvania as they debate before a live studio audience. Hosted by The McCourtney Institute for Democracy with WPSU, and moderated by Patty Satalia, the debate will be broadcast on WPSU-TV and streamed online. This two-part film from Ken Burns looks at not just Robinson’s life in baseball, but at its complex whole, from athlete to Civil Rights activist.
