Message from the
PFCU President
This Newsletter—the first one for 2015—has many exciting topics.
Please see the piece that showcases our employees that had
anniversaries last quarter, as well as the member testimonial piece.
These two articles are closely related and it is by no accident that
our members are happy because our employees are happy.
You think of us as employees, but I think of my staff as an
extension of our philosophy of our service to you. I care about
them as they care about you. The five members of our staff
that had anniversaries last quarter have 38 years of combined
credit union experience. (Regina has 20 years.) This is the kind
of dedication our staff has to you—we are all experts in our field
and we care about our service to you personally. That is what we
mean by service the right way, right away. As anyone that has ever
managed a workforce knows, the greatest joy in management life
is a reliable, willing, and able staff member, and it has been my joy
and privilege to work with each of my staff every day.
We are driven by relationships and by a desire to help. And that
help goes to everyone…staff, members, and the general public.
I recently received an unsolicited résumé for employment.
Although we had no openings, I talked to her in person anyway so
I could give her guidance on how to improve her cover letter and
résumé. I called other credit unions to see if they had openings and
gave her some suggestions. The unemployment world is cold, so
take time to encourage one another and be a blessing to someone
else. That is what we are supposed to do and an example of how
we manage our relationship with you.
